Summary: I'm confused!
Review: Some reviewers here see hatred in this book? Where? People need to read a little more closely, I believe. This is an action-packed thriller, and there is nothing but reverence for God and religion in this story. It's the hierarchies of some of the religions that get skewered here. Hypocrites, greedy, lustful leaders who exploit their followers. That's not hate, people, that's reality. You can expose fraud in an institution without condemning the institution itself, and that's what's happening here. Is it wrong to expose the hoarding of wealth by the big, powerful religions while there are so many starving, sick people dying at the church doors? I don't think so. Some think anything negative said about any religion is hate. Not so if it comes in the manner of reform. Gold stars to this book. It's a terrific tale and a great read.

Summary: Powerful!
Review: This book is so different from anything else I've ever read. The way it whips your head around, constantly twisting your perspective and suspicions until you can't be sure what's going to happen next. Keeps buiilding and gathering steam to the point the suspense is frightening--and then finished so strongly with a message that brought me to tears. I love this book and recommend it to all as a truly special story and a classic in the making. A beautiful and touching story with lots of action and thrills.

Summary: Flash! I'm Not a Fanatic
Review: You really don't have to be a bible thumping member of the Falwell brigade to think this book is garbage. I know very little about the bible and I'm not Catholic, so take my opinion for what it's worth. This book is the longest, most boring, poorly written, and farfetched thriller/anti-religious diatribe I've read in years. The characters and dialogue are cartoon like. I believed the suspicious raves that appear on this page and wasted $20. If you have time to waste, buy it in paperback. But you are better off not bothering with this junk and ignoring some of the exagerated claims made here. My advice: check the reputable media for reviews AND the bestseller list for yourself.

Summary: Old Hate ; Sophisicated Now?
Review: Now it seems sophisticated to revamp all the old prejudices concerning Jewish, Protestant, and Catholic beliefs, all the old hateful attitudes, and suddenly they are acceptable. This book, unbelievably published by a major house, spreads the old venom wide. This kind of outright hatred towards people of all faiths may be entertaining to some, but to others it is much like the Nazi "Protocals of Zion". Pretty disturbing.

Summary: I 'm Afraid We Won't Ever Stop Hate
Review: I am tired of writers who have something ugly and hateful to say about religion of anyone. It is time to stop, to think, to rest. The world peoples cry out for peace and forgiveness, all here is old hates. Jews are stupid, they will follow blindly. Catholics will not listen to truth, no matter what. I hated this book because the author shows hatred for Jews and Christians. I feel very afraid, after all that has happened, that people buy this book and believe the lies again. Sonya Lieberman

Summary: Suspense at its best!
Review: Two thumbs up and five stars! This is an outstanding novel with all the makings of a lasting classic. Very enjoyable read and much to think about. How about a sequel!

Summary: What's the reals story here?
Review: I have to take serious issue with some of the reivews here that try to depict this novel as anti-Catholic or anti-religion. For the religious right's information, this novel was featured by Catholic theologian, Father Miles Riley (educated in Rome), on San Francisco TV station KRON, on the show "For Heaven's Sake." Father Riley blessed this book and recommended it to his viewership. He called it a wake up call and quoted many of the novel's passages on the show. Anyone who wants to can confrim this through KRON. So now you know just how valid some of these "reviews" are on this page!

Summary: Back off!
Review: Hey, all you religious flagellants out there, why don't you practice the Commandment about "not bearing false witness" and quit the false accusations about my man, Mr. Kleier. This is not just a good book, it's a GREAT book. Sensational! You can't abide it 'cause it tears a huge hole in all the myths religions have been perpetrating for years. Thank God we've got writers with the guts and the talent to change the way people think (people with open minds, that is!)

Summary: Spare me the V-chip
Review: First I read the book, and then I read these reviews. Interesting. Some people, like me, found this book exceptional and very intelligent, full of hot topics (like the intriguing politics at play in the hierarchies of modern organized religion, wealth and the Church, sanctimony, hypocrisy and suppression). And then others say the exact opposite -- "don't read this book because it's poorly written, nothing new, a lecture, etc." They can't both be right, now can they? What we've got here is Big Brother trying to keep people away from a very strong, and I think important, story. Even if you read this for just the neat suspense thriller it is, read it. I, for one, reject this form of manipulative censorship.

Summary: Highly recommended
Review: This novel came highly recommended to me, and I'd like to pass along the favor. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a book this much. I could not put it down. A beautiful, poignant story. It's told from the perspective of an agnostic newspaper reporter who's in way over his head, caught up in the middle of a frightening, mysterious phenomenon. Edge of your seat drama you're sure to enjoy!
