Summary: Whoa!
Review: You're either going to love this book or hate it. Subtle, it's not. Intelligent, gripping, stimulating and very controversial is what it is. The central idea revolves around what might happen if a possible messiah (a female, she could be the real thing, or she might be a hoax or a megalomaniac, you are kept in soul-twisting suspense throughout) were to return and confront the world and all its squabbling religions. This becomes very intriguing because, naturally, each religion on this planet happens to think it's the one that's divinely inspired with God's word, and the forthcoming revelations from the new messiah are not at all what anyone expects. Shocking, thought-provoking, very funny, spooky and often very disquieting, this book may even offend you, but you can't stop reading it. And much of what it has to say rings so true and hits so hard, it will linger with you long after you finish it.

Summary: Mind Boggling Is Right
Review: My jaw literally dropped as I waded through this book's abominable prose and incredible cast of plastic stereotypes. This book is truly an amateur effort that manages to be as pretentious as it is banal. Jeza should have had a lobotomy or at least read the bible(as should the author). Someone must be joking with these "greatest book I ever read" reviews. Pretty darn sad.

Summary: I kind of liked it...
Review: This was a pretty good story but wow, the writing's awful! I've read similar books by some of the authors recommended here that were much, much better. Not exactly earthshaking. I'd really have to lower my standards to give this a higher rating, even on the old "trash meter."

Summary: Great story
Review: I bought this book intending to read it on the train back and forth to work. I thought it might last me a few weeks, instead, I started it and literally could not put it down. It's not only a fabulous story with a killer ending, it has a great deal to say of relevance to today's society and the human condition in general. A first class novel thoughtfully presented in a very intelligent, well researched and highly entertaining way. I highly recommend this, and it should be mandatory reading for every religious leader in America.

Summary: Can I Have My Money Back?
Review: I will sure take hysterically positive reviews with a grain of salt in the future. This below average potboiler overflows with bad writing and dumb characters. The author forgot the story and ended up writing a long, boring anti-religion screed. Im giving it a 3 because Jeza is a uniquely repellant and hateful messiah. To create her must have taken a concerted effort by the author of this stinkbomb.

Summary: Hits the nail on the head
Review: How often do you read a book that haunts you for days after you finish it? This one cuts right to the chase and the heart. It's not afraid to tackle some of the most controversial and divisive moral issues of the day, and it does so as a suspenseful, action adventure/mystery. This book will shock some readers, offend others, but it speaks volumes of truth along the way. I've never read anything quite like it and can only hope the man who wrote this has many more novels in the works, the sooner, the better.

Summary: Courageous book
Review: Not too many authors have the courage to speak the disturbing truths spelled out so compellingly in this unique and moving novel. It is a profound book that has touched me deeply in many ways; so full of what I can only describe as "inspired insights." I am utterly astounded by the creativity of the story, wrapped so tightly in an exciting action/suspense thriller. This book makes its points in such a logical, balanced, forthright and convincing manner (fighting fire 'n brimstone with fire 'n brimstone). Outrageously brilliant, powerful, sometimes unsettling and often hillarious. It's about time someone had the guts to write a story like this. I could not put it down!

Summary: Mind boggling
Review: In thirty six years of reading popular fiction, this is the first time I've ever written in anywhere to comment on a book. I can not adequately put into words my feelings after reading -- no, "experiencing," this is more than reading -- THE LAST DAY. There is so much to this story, so much going on above and beneath the surface, so much truth and wisdom and provocative, thought-provoking material here, you simply can't take it all in with one read. It kept me completely hooked and enthralled the entire time, and gave me such an exhiliarating feeling at the conclusion that I actually cried. And I'm not ashamed to say that. This is a one of a kind story that could only come around once in a millennium.

Summary: about average really
Review: Readers might wish to read the more thoughtful reviews further down this page before spending hardcover money on an average paperback thriller. Claims of this being "important" literature are just ludicrous and seem part of a crazy sales effort. Anyone interested in a truly fine novel concerning the millenium and an intelligently realistic portrayal of millenarian events in Israel should read DAMASCUS GATE. Absolutely stunning writing and superb characterizations. Skip this drivel.

Summary: Exceptional read
Review: This is a very intelligent, surprisingly insightful and highly entertaining novel that offers a startling look at what could happen if a credible Messiah (in this case, a beautiful young woman), were to arrive on the scene at the turn of the millennium. A truly original, creative and well written story. The research is extraordinary and the plotting is unique and refreshingly inciteful in its depiction of a world gone mad with greed, selfishness and self-righteousness. The reader is kept guessing continually throughout, and treated to a generous plate of surprises, including an ending that is both astounding and highly moving. My vote for new novel of the year. I hope to hear more, much more, from this author.
