Summary: Not anti-religious--a great suspense mystery!
Review: If this novel is an anti-religious diatribe, then so is the New Testament! Christ criticized his contemporary religion, calling out the high priests, scribes and pharisees for their greed, arrogance and hypocrisy. This novel does no different. It isn't anti-religion. It's anti-intolerance, anti-prejudice, anti-self righteousness. And it makes a brilliant case for re-examining the role of ancient religions in modern day society. The explosive story, told here with such eloquence and suspense, gives its compelling message all the more impact. Certainly, this is a controversial book--all great fiction is!

Summary: An anti-religion diatribe!
Review: The basic premises of this book are: (1) all organized religions are bad (particularly Roman Catholic); and (2) all the world's problems are caused by organized religion. Above the primary themes, Mr. Kleier has the new messiah preach a sermon of politically correct pablum: sleep around, have abortions, have a good time, but don't waste any time going to church. My best guess is that Mr. Kleier attended parochial school and hasn't been able to forget the nuns whose teaching so cruelly offended a sensitive 60s kind of guy. Nonetheless, Mr. Kleier doesn't waste a minute of his pulpit time to preach to us.

As pure fantasy, this is a pretty well written book. It has an interesting premise, and a decent plot, with good charecterizations. But, even without the apparent anti-religion bias, the ending would be disappointing.

Summary: Turned my head around
Review: I haven't been this affected by a novel in all my life. Scared the **** out of me, but I couldn't stop reading. Absolutely fabulous story--driving suspense and a killer ending that left me exhausted. I'm recommending it to everyone I know.

Summary: Started slow, but loved it!
Review: I really liked this book. I was really skeptical when my friend gave it to me, but it was a terrific read. Bring it on a plane or train!

Summary: an enigmatic story with an interesting twist.
Review: This story was a blast to read. I took a chance with its purchase, and was thrilled with the outcome. The mysterious beginning, the following chapters which kept me guessing, and finally the profetic, yet supercharged ending. If you're interested in a book that'll make you think, and will keep you hopping from one side of the fence to the other...this is your book.

Summary: Gripping and intelligent
Review: This is a very entrhalling book from beginning to end. I did not expect the unusual twists and turns it takes, and I was unprepared for the points the book made, which I found very stimulating and intelligent. I particularly enjoyed the perspective of the female messiah, who is a spell-binding character. Her parables were thought provking and haunting -- very authentic. In fact, the entire story had a frightening realism to it that makes it exceptionally suspenseful.

Summary: the best book I've read in 1998!!!
Review: I truly enjoyed that book and recommended it to my family and all of my friends. It does'nt matter if you believe in God or not, this book makes you think and consider - it's really the best of all books I've read in 1998 - and I read a lot! Don't miss it - and if you've enjoyed it - order "The Genesis Code" by John Case - it's also a very good book!

Summary: A Spellbinding Masterpiece
Review: This book is now my favorite book. I would even give it 6 stars if I could. It is just wonderful how it probes into everybody's heart and shows feelings and fears they have towards the new millennium. I especially loved this book because I identify myself with Jeza's creed. Another thing I liked was the misunderstanding of the Revelations people have. Everybody thinks the Revelations predict the end of the world, but they truly predict a rebirth in which peace and love will engulf Earth. Glenn Kleier sends a very important yet dangerous message through this book that all of us should pay attention to.

Summary: A novel for the times
Review: This novel has been the subject of hot debate at our book club meetings. It seems that everyone who reads it interprets it differently. Regardless, it is a wonderful, highly entertaining read. It's like reading two books in one--an engrossing mystery/suspense thriller, and a dead-on accurate satire/commentary about current socio-theological events in the world. Few works of fiction make that kind of contribution to literature--Aldous Huxley's Brave New World, or Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged are two such works that spring to mind. The Last Day leaves you with that same sort of feeling; that you've just read a very special work of rare intelligence and value.

Summary: TRULY BELIEVABLE!
Review: This book was one of the best I have read as far as originality; although you start the book thinking it is just another "millennia book", you quickly learn that is not the case. This is one of the most engrossing books I have ever read and I would like to see a sequel. The most chilling part of reading this book was the fact that I agreed with so much of what "Jeza" had to say. I found this book to be truly believable (chillingly so).
