Summary: riveting, I coudn't put this down!
Review: This is a well thought out book.If you enjoy theological discussions and interpreting the Bible, science fiction, mysteries , thrillers, and colorful characters, this is the read for you.You won't be disappointed. I just finished it and I'm already looking out for his next novel!!!

Summary: One fine tale!!
Review: Very relevant story that raises a lot of interesting and legitimate questions, and provides some thought provoking answers as well. If you don't like situations that probe the limits of faith and religion, you could take offense at some of this story. But the premises of this novel and conclusions it reaches are not only very plausable, but very logically laid out. It gets exciting, it gets scary, and it gets you thinking. Don't see how you can't ask much more from a work of fiction.

Summary: Brassy little novel
Review: Not too many people have the guts to come out and say some of the things said in this novel. Too many writers are intimidated by the religious right. I very much liked the tell-it-like-it-is approach. Many of the ideas expressed here are going to get some people really hot under the collar, but that doesn't take away from the truth expounded here, and powerful impact this story will have on many. Not just a great thriller, a devastating blow to the tartuffes of the world.

Summary: I didn't want this book to end!
Review: One of the best books I've read in a long time. Perfect to be made into a movie! In addition to the intrigue, creative plot twists, and interesting characters, I learned fascinating facts about many religions and cultures. A perfect book for those contemplating events of the new Millenium and how they might react!

Summary: This book is a page turner!
Review: The Last Day is a novel filled with many of todayƕs hot topics...genetics, religion, Y2K, politics. The author was very creative in developing the plot, resulting in an entertaining yet thought provoking book.

Summary: Love it or hate it, this book WILL make you think!
Review: Philosophy, theology, politics, the media. All are involved in this top rate mystery/thriller. This is one of the best books I've ever read. I don't recommend that the reader take it as prophecy and I don't believe that it was intended as such. It is, however, an honest, no holds barred look at the world we live in, how we live in it, how we treat each other, and how we make everything so much more complicated than it has to be. I also think it shows that, however disillussioned one might be, there is still hope for us to learn.

Summary: Where was this book 10 years ago!
Review: I've never read a book that had such a cathartic effect on me. When I think back on my life, so many years of frustration and confusion about religion (I was raised Catholic), if only I could have read this book when I was a teen. I have never felt so moved by any work of fiction before. This novel is not just a fantastic suspense story, it's also a wonderful exploration of mysteries of faith and the forces of repression that try to beat down individualism. Thank you, Mr. Kleier, whoever you are, for giving me a bolt of confidence and hope. What an amazing novel.

Summary: This books stuns, titilates, and completely satisfies!!!!!!!
Review: A shocking attempt at creating the "second" coming of christ. In a world of a thousand religions this book makes you realize there is only one true religion, "faith". The one honest quality left in all religions. Makes you wonder the next time the collection plate comes your way.

Summary: Great reading
Review: From the very first page, you can tell this book is going to be something special. The author knows exactly where he's going with this unpredictable story, but he keeps the reader in tight rein, never revealing too much, never losing control, never flinching. The story accelerates with each page as the plot unfolds until the suspense is almost too much to bear. It kept me on edge to the last. I rank this the best novel I've read in years and among my all-time-favorite thrillers. I encourage everyone to experience this unusual story for him or herself. You will come away breathless and re-evaluating your perspectives on life.

Summary: OK, but that's it.
Review: Some of these reviews are mystifying when this is a pretty dumb thriller and hardly deep. As mentioned many times, the writing is plain bad. Silly characters and outlandish dialog galore. And the Catholic bashing gets old fast. I agree it's too preachy and the sermons gave me the itch to skip pages (I did, often). I sure wouldn't recommend this as some kind of great book! Very poorly done and way too long.
