Summary: Fascinating journey into the spiritual unknown
Review: Be prepared for the unexpected. This is a spine-tingling story with a strong emotional kick. This novel fires hot questions at the status quo and shakes complacent institutions to their foundations. It is a pile-driver of a thriller, calling out hypocrisy and self-serving aspects of society and religion that may prove very upsetting for some people. But in the eloquent style of this author, the story is a powerful mechanism for both entertaining and enlightening. Ranks among my favorite books and I highly recommend.

Summary: Is this book prophetic, or what!
Review: This book is perfectly timed as the world begins the countdown toward the new millenium. I'm seeing on the news all the craziness that's starting to develop over in Jerusalem, all the end of the world fanatics convening, the religious nuts and prophets and doomsayers, and suddenly, here's a book that anticipated it all! In fact, there is so much in this story that is dead accurate with the strange developments over there that it's scary. You would swear in reading this that it's all happening exactly as the book predicts! The sense of realism runs throughout the entire story, keeping you on pins and needles the whole way. There's something really "other worldly" about this novel that just gave me chills. REally, really engrossing and thought provoking. One of the most interesting and addictive novels I've ever read. Very exciting and surprising.

Summary: A very moving story
Review: This is a story about one of the oldest arguments in the world. An argument that has gone on since the dawn of spirituality, and continues to this day. It's cost more lives than any other cause, created more anguish than virtually any other circumstance in the history of humanity, and unfortunately will likely go on till the end of time. This book is about the age-old argument between religious beliefs--with some unusual twists. It is shockingly irreverent and surprising in its insights. Would you like to know who is right about what God wants from Man? Which religion is the one, true religion? What really is best for your immortal soul? This novel approaches the subject in a most original, suspenseful way. But even more impressive, it offers a credible ANSWER to resolving those timeless questions! To get to that answer, you must experience an extreme range of emotions that this moving story will demand of you. It is a powerfully thrilling, exciting adventure that gets very frightening to make it's points. But there is also a tongue-in-cheek humor here, and tremendous insights that make for a wholly complete and fulfilling literary experience. I don't come across novels like this very often. I treasured every moment and hated to see it end.

Summary: What topic could upset people more ?
Review: My eyes about bugged out of my head reading this book! I couldn't believe what I was seeing! At long last, somebody had the courage and the talent to show the pompous religious emperors of the world that they really are naked! This strips them bare--exposing some of the great spiritual scams, lies and intimidations of modern day organized religion. It does so with finesse and wit; by humour and by analogy. The author has a way with words and a broad breadth of knowledge about the three historic religious siblings--Judaism, Islamism, and Christianity. Using the End of the World as a perfect foil, "The Last Day" scares the truth out of all three while immersing the reader a truly heart-stopping thriller. This is a story that challenges conventional religious thinking in a manner that will absolutely enrage some. But it thoroughly entertained this ole bugger!

Summary: Thank you sir, may we have another?
Review: Brilliantly biting, ingeniously inventive, excruciatingly exciting, shall I go on? The man who wrote this novel sees the world in a clearer light than any contemporary author I've ever read. There is great truth in these pages. This work shreds hypocrisy into microscopic dust particles and scatters it to the four winds. I could not tear myself away from this book, the expense is so tantalizing, the story so very vivid and realistic. A totally compelling and provocative novel that is a true literary treat. Please, sir, may we have a sequel!

Summary: Darn Boring
Review: Well, it's got a dumb plot, horrible writing, silly characters, and is so darn boring that I almost didn't finish it. That's about all, except this writer should do a little research and not limit himself to Cliff Notes next time. A creative writing class might help.

Summary: The book that people will love to hate!
Review: Either you get this book or you don't. I think I got it and I loved it. It made me feel like there IS somebody out there watching over us. Although I believe the author was harsh on the Catholic religion (I'm Catholic), The Last Day is a work of fiction and that was my understanding from start to finish. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. At times I was tempted to skim through the "slow" parts, especially Jeza's sermons, but I forced myself not to. The book was long, but I believe the author had his reasons. This book gave me goosebumps more than once and I recommend it more as a futuristic thriller than anything else.

Summary: Sleepless in Seattle
Review: I don't recommend many books, and I've never written a review about one before, but I'm making and exception with this one. I highly recommend this novel as one of the most exciting books I've read in years. It kept me up all night, literally. By exciting, I mean edge-of-the-chair, nail-biting, squirming, sweating, gasping and jumping-up-and-down type of thrills and suspense. This is simply a great story, as classic as any I've ever read. If it's possible for one book to define the turn of the millennium, this is it! I loved it and I hope I convince many more people to experience it, too.
