Rating: Summary: Best Book of Last 5000 Years! Review: No other book in my life has changed the nature of my existence so profoundly. Few who read this incredible book are left untouched, unmoved, and deeply, irrevocably inspired by this author's talent. There is no other book like this in the history of philosophy. The human condition has never been captured so artfully, such revelations never expressed so wonderfully. This book has changed my life as it has so many others. Everyone loves this book!
Rating: Summary: Mother Theresa Endorsed This Book! Review: This is the greatest book I ever read! A powerful, beautifully written novel that exposes papal conspiracies, Vatican cabals, and worthless superstitions. Mother Theresa loved this book, calling it "a wake-up call" for Rome. The truth of this book can be seen in the twenty positive reviews posted in the last four days. Not bad for a book that was published in 1997! The acclaim is universal and unanimous! Glenn Kleier will be a saint in the New Reformed Church one day because he has set all readers on a path of true awareness. No other book of this kind has ever been written, one which touches the very soul of the reader, and one which may well save us all! This penetrates a 1000 years of darkness with a beam of truth so bright that it will burn away the ignorance of all who dare condemn it.God bless Mr. Kleier for offering redemption, truth, and light to all oppressed by ancient nonsense.
Rating: Summary: One of the best novels, ever. Review: I'd be hard pressed to remember a novel I've enjoyed more. This has everything--gripping tension and suspense, non-stop action and surprises, and a brilliant plot that is also eye-opening and insightful. A great book to launch the new millennium!
Rating: Summary: A shock Review: Imagine my surprise when I got this book as a gift Christmas eve and opened it to find the date of the first chapter 12.24.99! I'm up to page 233 now and it's getting more nerve racking with every page. Hope to finish it tomorrow!
Rating: Summary: Superb philosophical thriller Review: American Catholics seem to have such a provincial attitude about books like THE LAST DAY. Euro Catholics have long reconciled themselves to the human foibles of the Church. We not only recognize the warts and blemishes, we accept them quite casually. THE LAST DAY is only the latest of provocative literature to address such issues. The book is heavily researched, informative, and quite entertaining. Although fiction, the material the novel concerns itself with is factual for the most part, particularly regarding the material wealth of the Church in Rome (if the author takes some liberties with names and places). But the overall net effect is a stunning, fearsome tale that is both moving and credible, a reason it has been a continuing resident on the best-sellers list for British publisher, Hodder & Stoughton. This is a work to be relished, not condemned.
Rating: Summary: If you are looking for something fast paced, this is it Review: if you read one book before the millenium then let it be The Last Da
Rating: Summary: Frighteningly good! Review: Have you ever read a book where you were so caught up in it you took it with you everywhere, read it every spare moment you could find, stayed up late to finish it and then started reading it right away, all over again? This is just such a book! It is phenomenally exciting all the way through to the surprising conclusion. This story will turn upside down everything you ever thought you knew about spirituality, and it will frighten you to your bones and leave you breathless. I've never read a novel that affected me the way this one has. It's so vivid, it's as if it's really happening.
Rating: Summary: A great book! Review: This novel was a reading assigment for our literature class, and I did a paper on it. It's the first time I really enjoyed an English Lit assignment. This is a great book. I'm not surprised that the "religious right"is waging a campaign against it (the Catholic League of America has even banned it--despite the fact that the manuscript of this novel was read by Mother Theresa herself, who applauded it and said it was a "wake up call"(see the interview in the February '98 web issue of "Writers Write" for details). As far as the "religious right" are concerned, they're too late to stop this novel. It's been published world wide in seventeen languages as a mass market release with over a million copies in print, and growing. You can't stop the truth with lies, and the attempts to portray this novel as trash has backfired, only giving its fans more reason to stand up for it. Jeza rules!
Rating: Summary: A great gift Review: I got many wonderful presents this Christmas including this novelwhich I finished in less than three days. There is so much food for thought between these pagesif you can catch your breath from the racing story to think about it. Just how much have today's organized religions strayed from the original message? When you consider the wealth and authoritativeness of today's religious leadersit's difficult to recognize much of the poor humble carpenter of Nazareth in any of them. This novel asks some disturbing questions about organized religion that few modern day religions would feel comfortable in answering honestly. A thrilling mystery novel for working toward a better new millennium
