Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Good book Review: Interesting Plot Line with some very unexpected plot twists. The reason I gave it four stars is the author, in creating the plot twists, left out some very essential details.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Better than Red Sector Review: It was nice seeing a book dedicated to Chakotay and Torres beforethey were on Voyager. The book did a great job explaining how Tom Rikerbecame involved with the Maquis. The book also had excellent continuity with the other Double Helix novels. If Red Sector hadn't been published, the entire Double Helix series would have been filled with great stories.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Really boring, skip this book if you can Review: So far I'd loved the Double Helix series, but this book was soooo boring. I didn't seem to be able to finish it. The plot meandered, move forward, then backwards. The characters we're not credible at all (Tom Riker deciding to switch over to medical! ). Not at all what we're accostumed with John Vornholt.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: A lot of backgrounds explained Review: This is one of the better Double Helix books, because it doesn't focus entirely on the virus itself. With backgrounds setup for Thomas Riker, Chatokay, and Torres, it is definatly a page turner.

Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Should be 2 and a half Review: This is probably a decent book for a series fan, but it is a huge let down after the wondeful "Red Sector". The epidemic plot is getting older with each retelling. This particular one did not add anything new. The book is also troubling on personal level. The society of Helena is extremely bigoted and the author seems to treat it as a matter of course. The showing up of the rarely mentioned Tom Riker is interesting, but his life and reasons for joining Marqui do not ring true with me. I am also not certain about the timeframe. After all, how long an officer attached to a vessel can be undercover? Not years surely, maybe not even months. Stylistically, it is flat adventure proze and it is incredibly hard to care about characters. The only bright spot of the whole book is the first chapter. This book is for hardcore fans only.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: An exception to Vornholt's usually brilliant work. Review: Though I generally consider Vornholt to be the best Trek author, Double Helix book four was apparently written on an off day. Perhaps this was due to the fact that it had basically the same plot as the last three double helix books or that it featured "stupid" Tom Riker, but it didn't seem to measure up to Dominion War books one and three. I hope that this is an exception and not the new rule of Vornholt's writings.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Nice story Review: Tom Riker, the other replica of Riker of Enterprise shows he has the Riker's talents. This story also touches on how he join the Marquis. He is captured by Chakotay and was on a ship with other members of the Voyager team before they disappeared. This story describes how Chakotay faces various threats to accomplish an errand of mercy. I find the story good.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Good Recovery From Red Sector! Review: When Quarantine first came out, I was a little reluctant to buy it after reading Red Sector. I bought it anyway, despite my thoughts. As I enduldged myself, in what I thought would be another bomb, despite Vornholt's usually exceptional work, I was fascinated by what a recovery it was from Red Sector. This book was especially interesting because of the action and climax in it. The plot kept me guessing, and, unlike Red Sector, had a little variety to it! It looks like John Vornholt wrote another wonderful piece of literature once again!
