Summary: One of the Two Best
Review: I've been a fan of this series since the second book came out. I found the first one slow at times, but they get better (mostly). Then I read a review that said the Christ Clone Trilogy by James BeauSeigneur is a whole lot better, so I tried it. The review was more critical of Left Behind than I would agree with, but it was 100% right about the Christ Clone. Man, that's a series you can sink your teeth into. It moves fast, sticks to scripture, and explains prophecy in a much more believable way than any of the end times books I've read, including Left Behind.

The strangest thing is that BeauSeigneur does such a good job of presenting the antichrist that you actually find yourself pulling for him. It's weird, but exactly as Matthew 24:24 says it will be. In Left Behind you know that Nicolae is the Antichrist right from the beginning (though the characters seem a little thick-headed in not being able to see what's so obvious to the reader) and there's no way in the world I would ever follow ol' Nick. If I weren't a Christian, though, I'm sure I would follow BeauSeigneur's Antichrist. He's that good, I mean bad . . . oh you know what I mean.

One other big difference is that Left Behind is obviously written for a Christian or near-Christian audience; the preaching is pretty thick and I think turns off many nonChristian readers. (I've tried to get nonChristians to read Left Behind and none have read past the first book.) The Christ Clone Trilogy is written for a secular audience (it even has an occasional curse word) but when the truth is revealed (book 3 of the series) the Christian world view and the presentation of the Gospel is unmistakable.

Summary: It keeps on ticking!
Review: Great Potentate Nicolae Carpathia is consolidating his power with a one-world economy, plus the ownership of the world media and an ecumenical church, led by a hand-picked pontiff. Rayford Steele and Buck Williams, along with the rest of the Tribulation Force, continue their struggle to survive and protect their families in the midst of global war and destruction. Nicolae is shown to be a cruel tyrant, rather than the kind and gentle leader that most people take him for. The Tribulation Force realizes that Nicolae is the antichrist predicted in the Bible. And yet, both Rayford and Buck are still working for the man. In the meantime, the Tribulation Force try to figure out what evil will be next generated by this man or his minions. And in the midst of all this, the Wrath of the Lamb occurs, throwing everyone into chaos as they try to find each other in the tragedy

Keep reading! These books are easy to read and very entertaining - if a little thought-provoking and/or scary at times.

Summary: An average book in a great series
Review: I've enjoyed reading this series, but I was disappointed that this installment strayed from Bible prophecies and was more about character interaction (boring interaction at that). However, things really start hopping at the end, but the ending is rather ubrupt forcing the reader to immediately want to read #4 in the series. The 1st 2 in the series were quite engaging, #3 Nicolai was somewhat disappointing when compared to the other books, but still a good read.

Summary: Fun
Review: The writing is simple and easy to read (much like the New York Times). An easy weekend read, and it is fun. The interpretations of the scripture are probably wrong, but they are well done, and carefully thought out. This is not a theological exposition on the endtimes by Calvin, it is an action adventure series by Jenkins. It is not a replacement for the Joy of reading your bible, but it is not meant to be. Highly recommended.

Summary: UCLA student's challenge
Review: I have now read the series (except #8) twice. It's easy reading and the Biblical truth is accurate. If you think all this is only fire and brimstone preaching, ask yourself what you will do if this happens to you. Will you sit by and let the people you care about die without knowing the truth? Even though Mr. LaHaye & Mr. Jenkins write about a fictional (future) world doesn't mean it won't happen, we just don't know when. They have done an excellent job depicting Revelation (not Revelations). We shouldn't intellectualize this series to the point of missing the point; that the God of all creation loves every person and will give each one of us sufficient opportunity to accept His awsome gift of grace or reject it. LaHaye's & Jenkins' writing reminded me of how short time is and how important it is to share this with others. We can only plant the seed, but the Lord is the only One who can change the heart. Remember to do your own study of what is in the Bible if this interests you. God bless!! <><

Summary: An Excellent Book
Review: In "Nicolae: The Rise of Antichrist," the third book in the Left Behind series, Nicolae Carpathia comes to power as the Antichrist predicted in Revelation, two years after Jesus Christ raptured his church. While many citizens think of him as a pacifist who wants to bring peace and unity to the world, he is the main worker for the devil himself. Rayford Steele, Cameron "Buck" Williams, Chloe Steele Williams, Amanda White, and Rabbi Tsion Ben-Judah are new Christians who call themselves the "Tribulation Force." Rayford and Buck both work for Carpathia; Rayford is Nicolae's airline pilot, Buck is his senior writer. It can't be too long before they are exposed as Christians. Or does the Antichrist already know?

If you are a true Christian or a skeptic, this is an excellent book to read.

Summary: Sorely disappointing . . .
Review: The only readers who will come away satisfied with this series (I quit halfway through "Soul Harvest") are fundamentalist who can't get enough of the same ol' fire and brimstone. These books are the shallowest of shallow, with about as much intellectual stimulation as a bowl of cold oatmeal. There are vastly more exciting and fearsome novels on the subject of The Last Day--not the least of which is the novel by the same name--"The Last Day." If you have the mental wherewithal for a really scary spiritual ride, "The Last Day" delivers a story of unsurpassed suspense and controversy. If you just like to sit back and veg out, stick with this juvenile "Left Behind" stuff!

Summary: Nicolae is action packed and spirtally uplifting.
Review: Nicolae is action packed as reporter Buck Williams and college student Chloe Steele escape war-torn Chicago and Rescue a jewish rabbi from Nicolae. Meanwhile airline pilot Rayford Steele must become a substitute pastor for New Hope church's Bruce Barnes.

I like Nicolae because it shows that all of the people that I have grown to love still have the fighting spirit. I feel it balences out the action and spiritual lessons. Nicolae is a good book overall.

Summary: Great Books
Review: I have read all of them up to The Mark which comes out this month. I couldnt put them down and now I have read them a second time. Very good interpretation of what will happen in the end times. No one should miss this set of books!

Summary: The Antichrist makes his move.
Review: What a great book! This book would give a good run to Tribulation Force for being the best book in the series so far. Tons of action and fast-paced drama led me to quickly finishing this book in less than 48 hours. I couldn't put it down. I've already started "Soul Harvest" and by the looks of it, it looks like another winner.
