I'm going through these books faster than any I've ever read.I made the mistake of reading the reviews for Apollyon and discovered a couple things that happen that I didn't want to know at this time.(something to consider if your looking ahead at the reviews). But, I do hope they don't drag it out to eight or more books, it's going to be tough waiting for the others to come out.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: This book changed my life Review: I received the first book of the "Left Behind" series as a gift from a concerned friend. I read it only because of my love of reading and my desire to read books from different subcultures within our society - not because I believed myself to be a Christian. I was intrigued by the book and continued with the next one because I was curious about the fate of those who did not disappear with the others. When I expressed my curiosty to my friend who had given the book, he pointed me to the Bible and showed me sections of it that related to the events of the books. I began to read more for myself. I began to attend a Bible study with my friend. While I was reading this book I was struck by the family-like concern that the characters had for one another that seemed to grow from their faith in Jesus. I had a desire to know this kind of relationship. I am happy to say that I now have this relationship with Jesus Christ. Thank you Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins. I will see you in paradise!!!

Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: What this series says about what we should be doing now. Review: Here's a thought about Christian fiction in general and this series in particular. A few years ago an article in Christianity Today reviewed the state of contemporary Christian fiction, and it made this perceptive observation. There are two major genres of Christian fiction: historical romances and end-times thrillers. In other words, Christians either have a sentimental, nostalgic look back to the past, where things may have been simpler or "more Christian," or they look forward to an apocalyptic future where God stomps out all his enemies. Unfortunately, this means that Christians are not doing much critical thinking about how to engage the world in the present.Clearly this series falls in the latter category. I hope and pray that all the fans of this series, which of course are legion, are not simply gleefully and passively awaiting God's judgment on unbelievers but rather are spurred on to Christian discipleship, obedience and evangelism in the present. Is passing around copies of these books the way to do that? I'm not sure, since it seems like LaHaye and Jenkins are primarily preaching to the choir. Christians need to think carefully about how best to present the good news of Jesus to the world in today's present setting, not some speculative future-tense scenario.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Nicolae is a poor excuse for a villain. Review: I'm sorry, but Nicolae is hardly the diabolical nemesis the antichrist is supposed to be. He feels more like a slick politician or a bureaucrat than the embodiment of evil. The villains in James Bond movies are far more sinister than this. Maybe it's because the authors are writing for a Christian audience that they feel that they have to sanitize their characters. You won't find a good characterization of evil here.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: You have to read these Review: These are clearly the best fiction books I have ever read. Secular or Not! I think every christian should have the chance to read these. This third book keeps you thirsting for more and more, I often forget that the rapture hadn't happened yet when I was reading this book. I read this and the two before it in about a day each. When I got to the end of this book last night, I had to go out to the store at about 9 pm and buy the next one, and now I'm am halfway done with that one (only about 10 hours later!). GET THESE BOOKS!!!!
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Why all these great reviews? Review: You will be tempted. You will be tempted to read this series, if only because of the millions of glowing reviews it has gotten here. Do not succumb. Recite these words to yourself : "Dull. Boring. Badly written." Is this what passes for Christian fiction these days? What happened to CS Lewis? To Graham Greene? To Walker Percy? To Dostoyevsky? To Kierkegaard? My lord, we have sunk low. I think I'll stick with "secular" fiction, and I believe Jesus will understand. If you want to know what will happen in the End Times, read Revelation. It's that long part at the end of the Bible.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: I read the first 3 books of this series in one week! Review: I'd seen this book at the christian book store several times but always thought "that's a guy's book". Last week I was going out of town for a business trip and decided to give "Left Behind" a try. I had to go find a christian book store in the city where I was in on business just to get the second book "Tribulation Force". Then I was headed to the airport to head home and had to stop by the christian book store yet again so that I could get "Nicolae". This series has not only been entertaining but I have learned and now understand the book of Revelations so much better. I look forward to reading "Soul Harvest". If they do make this series into movies, I sincerely hope the integrity of Lahaye and Jenkins is kept high by not only the script but by the actors who are chosen to portray the characters.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Fantastic. This is by far the best of the series. Review: This book has had me turning the pages for hours on end. This book and series are a must for anyone, anywhere. I love it.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: I recommend this book for a life changing experience. Review: Hi, it's me again ive reviewed Left Behind and will write a review on all of the books when I get the time. I will say that I think that "Nicolae" is the second best book in the series out of the 5 that have come out. I just finished it yesterday February 18, 1999. it was the best I think up until i started reading "Soul Harvest" today, I just can't seem to put it down because wherever I stop reading at it seems as if I am out on a limb, and if you've read it you know what I mean. But "Nicolae" really left me on the edge of my mind until I finished it and then I was mad because I didn't have "Soul Harvest" with me to start reading and was in suspensr for a day. If each book continually gets better like they have been, the last one will be a pure masterpiece. sincerely, Russell Barker
