Rating: Summary: I'll stick with romantic SF from now on Review: I thought I'd try a futuristic romance since I like romantic science fiction, but this book wasn't at all something that appealed to me. Lindsey should stick to historical fiction because her futuristic world and character building in this book were atrocious. I hated the "hero" and I ended up hating Tedra for loving him and giving in to him. Since when is sexual torture romantic?I hope people who have never read science fiction don't think that SF is like this book! Bad futuristic romance like this could end up giving science fiction a bad name- there's nothing scientific about this book at all!.
Rating: Summary: What a great read Review: I laughed and giggled and just plain enjoyed this book, even after the fifth read of it. I just couldn't get enough of it and had to reread every page of it. I would also recommend the following book of Tedra and Challen's daughter, Keeper Of the Heart. They both are great. Totally a different step from Johanna Lindsey's other books, which have never disappointed me. But this one is the best!!! Enjoy this and have the other book handy, because they truly belong together. You will want to read again and again.
Rating: Summary: It's a hoot! Review: This book was recommended to me a couple of years ago when I was just starting to read futuristic romances. If you don't take it seriously, it's great fun. I own the hardback and read it quite often. The sequel, KEEPER OF THE HEART, is also good. The third book, HEART OF A WARRIOR, is disappointing. Readers may want to skip this one entirely.
Rating: Summary: A big big disappointment! Review: I will start by saying that I am so glad that I checked this book out from the library instead of actually wasting my money on this really bad book. Warriors Woman is a romance set in the future and I thought that this would be an interesting idea; well I was wrong. The main problem I had with the novel was Tedra De Arr's willingness no matter what the reason to become Challens sex slave. Here is a woman who is an amazing fighter and pretty smart too. So when her planet is taken over by huge male warriors she escapes to find help. She lands on Challens planet and after seeing Challen is over come by lust. She needs his help so the best thing she can think of is to challendge him to combat. She loses and has to become his slave. So after knowing this man for a few hours she has sex with him. Challen and all the men on his planet use sex to control thier women. If they step out of line the men arouse them and then just walk away leaving them "sceaming" with frustration. Okay hmmm... well maybe that works on the women of his planet but why should it work on Tedra?? I just could not buy into the fact that Tedra could be so easily conrolled by sex. She was not a native to his planet and had never been tempted to have sex before. So we are suspose to believe that Challen is so good in bed that Tedra is willing to give up her pride just to have sex with this man? Challen was true cave man in every sense of the word. All the men were and why Tedra fell in love with him I will never know. Everytime they were together it was the same old same old. Challen telling her what to do and Tedra acting like she didn't want to do whatever it was and then sex. They never really talked about anything. Another big problem besides to poor plot was that Challene was a poorly written charcter. He had no personality and was very boring.
Rating: Summary: Warrior's Woman Review: This book is terrible. I barely got through it.... The whole talking computer wise cracker. The amazon warrior woman. The supposedly sexy man. None of it fits and is one long boring read.
Rating: Summary: 1 star is generous Review: I am a JL fan and I would like to say that I have read all of her books. Unfortunately, I could not even finish this one. When I saw that it was rated 5 stars I flipped out. This book was terrible. Maybe I am not a futuristic type of woman but please!!! Also, the sequels to this book are just as terrible if not worse. Couldn't finish those either. Sorry, I would have given this 0 stars if there was that option! 1 star is generous!
Rating: Summary: Don't get me wrong, I did like it... Review: Overall both Warrior's Woman and Keeper of the Heart were nice books, a bit of brain candy to read at bedtime. Tedra can be annoying but funny, Challen one-dimensional but loving. The plot gets silly at times and the ways she gets her characters out of jams is a little too convenient. But one thing I can't get over is how brutally Ms. Lindsey rips off (no, not just Star Trek) Sharon Green's Terrilian Series. There are far too many coincidences, too many identical plot twists, too many characteristics with only very fine details changed and Ms. Green wrote *her* set of five books in 1983/84. I am baffled that Ms. Lindsey is not paying Ms. Green regular royalties. Granted, the Terrillian Series while romantic is grittier and not for the weak of stomach. But folks, these are the ORIGINALS. Read them and try to tell me Ms. Lindsey never laid eyes on them (and took notes).
Rating: Summary: You Gotta Be Kidding! Review: I'm a pretty loyal reader of JL, but this book was awful. And boring, to boot. JL just seemed way out of her league with this type of book. If it wasn't so blasted boring, I would have probably stuck with it, but nothing could save this story.
Rating: Summary: I LOVED IT! Review: Challen and Tedra are the most awesome couple! I love Challen and how nice he is to her, even though he must "punish" her and be so darn dominating! Tedra's awesome too. A must-read!
Rating: Summary: Warrior's Woman Review: This is really one of the worst books I have read written by Lindsey. It is silly. It's like a bad portrayal of a strong woman still being dominated by the big bad male. I have quit reading Lindsey's works. She used to be interesting. Then she got into too much abuse of women. Rapes, nasty men, etc. I can find something better to read.
