Summary: Another Review
Review: I know I submitted a review a few days ago. But I was in a rush, so it did not come anywhere close to expressing how I feel about this book.

This book could have been great. It does have a decent plot. The problem was that it focused too much on the plot (and even that was too rushed), instead of going into detail about all the new changes of the world, the characters, and most important of all, their emotions. The kind of emotions that reach out beyond the pages and make the reader feel them too.

It reminds me of a game of roleplaying. Sure you can give the character as much background as you like. You can create plots in which the character will act a certain way. But without the person playing the character and giving it life and personality, there are no real emotions. There is nothing.

I'll quote Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, cause mabey they said it best. "The most important part of the DRAGONLANCE Saga for us has been it's characters and their realationship with one another. Strange fantasy worlds are interesting but, without people that we care for and about, they have no life." This statement is found in the DragonLance Chronicles collector's edition.

I am not looking foreward to reading The Day of the Tempest, or The Eve of the Malestrom. The sad truth is that I have to. All of us who are devoted to DragonLance won't be able to help from it. No-matter what the reviews say, no-matter how much we know for ourselves that these are the worst DragonLance books ever, we all will have to suffer through the depressing destruction of our beloved world of Krynn.

Jean Rabe overlooks every aspect that made us fall in love with Krynn in the first place, so in essence she is destroying it.

Summary: The Characters
Review: Jasper is a dwarf who is basically a remake of Flint. Feril is a kagonesti elf who sure can use earth magic for a world where magic has vanished. She is in love with Dhamon. Dhamon is an ex-dark knight of Takkhisis who regrets his past, but still lives by honour. He accomplishes impossible victories in every fight. Rig is a sailor who didn't want to be involved, but eventually changed his mind. Blister is a kender, yet she posseses no traits of a kender. Her hands are scarred and they hurt when she touches anything, so she has an unending (annoying) collection of gloves with different attachments on them.

This summary of the main characters is about as much as you will get from reading the book itself.

Summary: Just one thing....
Review: Umm...Okay, I'm not gonna go into how reeeeeelly terrible the book was cuz everyone else has already said that. But am I the only one who thinks that Jean Rabe CANNOT write a kender's personality?! I mean, Blister could be a special case, but even Raph! She can't write kender! Somebody please post something showing that you agree with me on this; I want to know I'm not alone.

And what's with that ending? Do I hear "sales gimmick"? Some stupid cliffhanger ending.......just a gimmick to get you to buy the sequels! JEAN RABE CAN'T WRITE.

Summary: This story is dead.
Review: Raph is a typical kender, but too stupid. Blister! Weeeeelllll, Ms. Rabe, you could have just explained that she was an afflicted kender! I nearly threw this book in the trash until I learned that some kender have learned to fear. Hey! Isn't Dhamon supposed to be dead? Really? Well, explain why he shows up in the Day of the Tempest! What's the point of going to get the banner? The only good stuff was being kept up-to-date(barely!) about the changes in the magic and dragons. Ms. Rabe needs to explain things more. I kept wondering, what do you mean, the Conclave's gone? Huh? There's a new Academy of Sorcery? What does it teach? I had to go onto the WoS home to find out! This book is trying to live up to Weis and Hickman. All right, so maybe a bit too much emphasis was put on the war of the Lance, but that was what the story was about! Lifelike characters restore balance. This book is 1-d creatures trying to do something, I don't know what. Rabe certainly doesn't explain it, or why this book is such trash. No plot, boring typical villains, stupid characters, this book is a recipe for a headache!

Summary: Horrible
Review: I can't believe this is actually a book. It's just page after page and of bland characters, shallow storyline (close to no storyline), and sentences that sound like they're written by fourth graders.

Summary: This Book has brought DL to SHAME!
Review: This is one of the WORST Dragonlance books that I have ever read. I own every DL book, except the Villians series. I was excited that the 5th age was coming out. Something different, no gods, or magic. When I bought this book, I read half of it and had to throw it down in disgust. Then later, after I read all the other books that DL had out, I picked it up again and read it. Jean Rabe is a horrible writer! kender don't act like kender, The new healers can heal every hero that is almost to the death at every fight, the Tower of High Sorcery is destroyed with alittle mutter of magic, yet no magic in world yet. And there is a time period from the Choas war & the Dragons. Why didn't the good dragons take on the Ancient dragons w/ dragonlances b4 they were to strong instead of hiding like cowards? That was an age of warriors of a finished war. To all the Loyal DL readers; Save urself the frustation of this book.

Summary: Absolutely awful
Review: This has to be the worst novel ever to bear the Dragonlance logo. The plot is nonsense, the narrative bland, and the characters about as deep as the paper the story's written on. I'd hoped for something better following the climactic events of Weis' and Hickman's 'Dragons of Summer Flame'. The gimmick with Blister's hands was awful--I really don't care what gadgets festoon the fingers of her seemingly endless collection of gloves. Then there's the likes of Malystryx. For an ancient, cunning, malicious dragon of awesome intelligence, she sure is dumb! Doesn't seem to spend much time thinking beyond the end of her own nose, if Rabe's works are to be believed. Give this one a miss. Your collection won't be any worse off because of it.

Summary: Why the least rate is a One Star instead of a "Red Star" ??
Review: Well .... as i'm typing i'm trying to surpress my own rage and agony ...

ALL THE READERS WHO RATED IT "ONE STAR" HAVE SAID WHAT I WANT TO SAY.

I'm reluctant to leave DL ... but it seems like the DL line, based on the proud history built by many good writers in the past decade, has been shattered.

(is it possible to reannounce that this trilogy as well as most of other Fifth Age ones are the talebooks for a 3-year-old, and then issue out the REAL stories, told by some good writers???)

Summary: Doesnt have the "feel" of a Dragonlance book
Review: I have read this book and I am very disapointed about it. I was anxious to read the new 5th age book, to learn more about Palin, and this new sorcery. But what I found was an empty plot. The characters didnt act like they should, especially the Kender. If it werent told that they were Kender, i would never have guessed. The first thing that came to mind when reading this book is that it resembled a children's tale, not a true Dragonlance tale. I had to force myself to turn everypage. The only reson I would recommend this book, is to learn about the new sorcery, blue spawns and such. Dont read it and expect it to be a good book.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: It was a very good book
Review: The other people dont know what they are talking about. I have read 15 dragonlance books and this meet the rest head on
