Rating: Summary: Suprisingly good Review: I must confess the only reason I read this book was because the reviews were so bad. So I thought I would see why people were complaining so much, but mto my suprise I thoughly enjoyed it. It was refreshing to have a kender who experienced fear unlike the rest of her race. I don't understand why people were upset by this. It's unrealistic to asume all members of a race will act a certain way, also I enjoyed reading again about Skie and his atempts to rescue Kitiara from the grey. If you are a dragonlance fan, who longss for the old days of the fourth age, then I don't recomend this book, but if you don't mind change and are looking for for something a little different. I think you will enjoy this title.
Rating: Summary: The Dragons are Awwwwwwwesome Review: I hadn't picked up Dragonlance before. A friend gave me this one. (I usually read legal thrillers and westerns.) What a great adventure! What a surprise. The pacing was fast. The characters were interesting. And now I will go out and get some more Dragonlance books.
Rating: Summary: DRAGONLANCE TURNED BLACK Review: This book does not deserve the title "Dragonlance". The plot is shallow, poorly developed, choppy and uncreative, the characters are poorly developed and lack that special something that makes you love and remember them. The characters carried over from previous "Dragonlance" books (i.e. Palin Majere, Goldmoon, Usha, etc.)(written by Wies and Hickman) are unture to their nature. Jean Rabe lacks creativity, and in my opinion should go back to high school to take an english course. There are so many mistakes in the book! And sometimes whole pages do not make sense. If you love "Dragonlance", this book will only disappoint you and break your heart. But you must read it if you want to read "Dragons of a Fallen Sun". In Fallen Sun, redemption will be found!
Rating: Summary: it's a little confusing. despite this good Review: it's somewhat confusing to understand ( seeing as i am also reading the chronicals) but other than that a good book
Rating: Summary: Marvelous! Review: This is the first book in the best trilogy of Dragonlance books outside of Weis & Hickman's own!
Rating: Summary: More like the death of an Era... Review: The minute I picked up this book, I knew I was going to be disapointed. But my god, this book reeked. They completly destoyed the world of Krynn, that I and millions of other readers have come to know and love. I will not accept the Fifth Age books as part of the Dragonlance time line. If they had had Margeret Weiss and Tracy Hickman write these books, like they had them start the series off, maybe we could have entered the fifth age with some style. for me, and I think I speak for many more readers, when I say Dragonlance ended with "Dragons of Summer Flame"
Rating: Summary: I don't know what to say Review: I reall don't know what to say about this book. I liked it and it fit my taste. It could of been better though.
Rating: Summary: i really don't know what to make of this book Review: What can i say. the book has its good points, one thing that really disturbed me though was that the kender was nothing like it should be. They seemed to skip about 6 books that should explain about how magic came back into the world and i'd like to here a little more depth in the characters, the author is rushing it too much maybe if the triliogy was 6 books she could have written it well. over all this book decently explained a few points that i was missing, although a little more detail would have been appreciated
Rating: Summary: A tradgedy of Dragonlance Review: Before I read this book I knew it was going to be a big disappointment. And it was. But I, like many other Dragonlance fans, realized that I had to read it if I wanted to continue with the series. And that is Jean Rabe's worst crime of all, not because the book is bad, but that we have to spend our money because it is the pivotal series for the future of Krynn. Okay, first I was expecting a world without magic as said in Dragons of Summer Flame. But the book starts with Palin stating that he has found magic again. Hello, can't he even explain how. Then Feril has magic powers which come from nature while Goldmoon has powers of the heart. These magics are obviously different, and there is no explanation as to where they came from. This book is really choppy. Jumping from the dragons to the boring heroes you just want to die. Also Khellendros, he has grown as large as any of the other dragon lords, how could that be possible? The other dragons grew because they sapped the life out of other dragons, while Khellendros just went away for a while, and he grew just as powerful. Dumb. And how did Kitiara's spirit get trapped in a place called the Gray? Just read through this book as quickly as you can. Jean Rabe should be beaten with a stick.
Rating: Summary: These are the darkest days of the Dragonlance series, indeed Review: This book is one I finished merely through strong force of will. I had started it, and damn it I was gonna finish it if it killed me! With the many excellent titles in the Dragonlance realm, one must ask what the heck is THIS?! If you can connect with these characters, I'm amazed. If you can give a damn about the situation, you must have a larger imagination than I do! There are a handful of slightly redeeming qualities to this flimsy read, but I can tell you here and now I will not pick up one more book in this series. The future of the Dragonlance series may be dark, indeed, if this is any sign - and I don't mean the fate of Krynn.
