Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Absolutely Amazing
Review: Wow.

Now, I have been a fan of David Gemmel for a very long time indeed. I have read most, if not all of his books and for the most part they have been quite good indeed, if a little lacking in a truly deep storyline. Ravenheart, however, blew me away. By the end of it I was practically jumping up and cheering. The wonderfully written death of one of the characters had tears in my eyes - something no other author has done to me before.

Most of David Gemmel's books are full of action, and this one is no exception. It is, however, balanced with a well-realised history of Varlish-Rigante hatred and opression, and the story really shows this well.

Basically, this book is an evolution for David Gemmel. While it retains all of the qualities that made him such a good author before, it adds to this with a true depth of world and characters - their actions and reactions are even more believable than ever before.
