Summary: A wonderful medieval time-travel romance
Review: This is, indeed, a great book, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I invite whomever of you loving the time-travel romance genre to join Kendra O'Brien, an auborn-haired, fiery, top-notch American investigative reporter as she travels back through time to 12th-century medieval England, finding there her one true love, her knight in shining armour - the rough though galant warrior, Navarre de Galliard.
I'll just let you in on the beginning, since I wouldn't wish to spoil the joy of revealing the unrolling plot's twists. Kendra O'Brien, a daring, tough investigative reporter, is pulled out of "the world beat" by the newspaper's chief editor, who also happens to be her uncle, Mac. Mac claims Kendra has repeatedly placed her life in unnecessary danger through most of her later assignments - and that includes being shot at, or pushing herself into a hostage situation. In fact, Mac believes Kendra has a death wish ... has had it since the loss of her husband and child in a car accident. Editor/uncle Mac decides to save his niece by sending her to England to investigate... yeah, crop circles.
When Kendra storms into Mac's office to protest the inferior/odd assignment she's been given, she is faced with a choice; it's either the crop circles, or being fired.
Kendra chooses the crop circles.
Okay, you'll have to do the reading from here on... I assure you you'll find yourself drawn into the wonderful world author Tess Mallory has so elaborately created. You'll fall in love along with Kendra with Navarre, the handsome dark knight. You'll wholeheartedly hate Garick, the evil Sheriff of Nottingham. You'll be hopelessly, utterly charmed by the dashing Robin Hood. The author has weaved a twisted plot, and her knowledge and love for history clearly shine through. But make no mistake, dear readers - Kendra and Navarre remain, of course, the true romantic heroes of the story, its main focus, and the passion between them is searing hot.
So... you love romance? You love historical settings? Buy this one. Read it. You're going to simply... love it.
