Rating: Summary: Quite simply, the best fantasy book I've ever read Review: Parmenion, the hero, is taken from outcast boy in the harsh, military Spartan regime to generalship of the ancient world's most efficient army. If you are going to read a Gemmell book, and they're all pretty good, start here. No wonder they call him Britain's foremost fantasy writer.
Rating: Summary: Brilliant story set in ancient Greece. Great character Review: Set in ancient Greece, tells the story of a man who help destroy the invicibility of the Spartan
nation , for revenge.
The character Parmenion is brilliant written.
A must for fantasy fans
Rating: Summary: Marvellous! Review: This is by far the best book that I have ever come across.Gemmell makes the reader feel so emotional and involved in the book that once you have finished the book you feel sad that you have to leave the beautiful world that he has created. An absolute masterpiece!
Rating: Summary: Spellbound Review: This should be the all time best seller! David Gemmell keeps you flipping the pages until you reach the other end of the cover.A BOOK NOT TO BE MISSED!
Rating: Summary: Execllent reading ! Review: This was my first Gemmell book and has got me hooked on it so far. The story has a good blend of ancient Greece and mythology in it. Good reading for historical fantasy buffs...although not very accurate, it still provides a highly entertaining plot. Though at the end, Gemmell still leaves us hanging but he finishes up brilliantly in his sequel Dark Prince.
