Summary: A Masterpiece of literary genius!
Review: I have now read all four of E.Lynn Harris' books and can't decide which I liked best. Invisible Life and it's sequel, Just as I Am, were very good and I expected this book to be the next sequel but it wasn't. I like the way the character's lives become intertwined and the story that Mr. Harris weaves leaves you on the edge of your seat with anticipation. It had all you could ask for in a novel: romance, intrigue, mystery and suspense! I am also intrigued with how he has woven John Basil Henderson throughout all four books even though he is a minor character. Could he be the main focus of the next E. Lynn Harris book??!!! MamaCee!!!!...where are you when I need you?

Summary: I found this book to be very diversified to the black race.
Review: This novel was a very good passtime enjoyment. It helped me to picture different lifestyles within the black community. It also let me identify with some of my own needs and insights concerning different beliefs and attitudes in my race.

Summary: INSPIRING,FUNNY AND ROMANTIC

Summary: Unforgetable!
Review: I picked And This Too Shall Pass up about 18 months ago, not really knowing what it was, but needing to read something different. I fell in love with the characters after reading two paragraphs! I'm the type of person who reads a book once and then it goes on the shelf to collect dust, not this one. Every six months or so I declare an E. Lynn Harris day; I unplug the phone, put a "Do Not Disturb, I'm Sick" sign on the door, get a bottle of good wine, and break out his books. I still cry and laugh out loud reading And This Too Shall Pass, something that rarely happens. I absolutely love this novel and am looking forward to any and everything else by this wonderful author.

Summary: Another great novel by E L Harris w/real people & situations
Review: I enjoyed the varied relationships and day to day experiences of his characters. He makes them seem as though they are your friends, neighbors and co-workers, especially since he sets his scenes in my area - the Great Chicago!

Summary: Wonderful book. A definite must read-for everyone.
Review: This was the first book that I ever read by E. Lynn Harris-and it was totally by accident. I was in a bookstore when I saw the book. I had never heard of Harris. I decided to take a chance on the book and I've been reading his novels ever since. He is a skillful master of articulation. Thanks so much for allowing me the chance to become a part of the lives of your characters. It was a wonderful experience. The newest novel "If This World Were Mine" is just as wonderful as all the rest.

Summary: One of the more disappointing books I have read.
Review: After hearing all the "hype" I decided to buy this book and I was quite disappointed. I felt the book was written based on a formula, i.e., A will lead to B which will cause C to happen and will end up with a conclusion of D. It was very predictable and I found myself wanting to change the entire "story line" of the book. I did find "Just As I Am" to be of more interest, however I read it AFTER "And This Too..." which made me even more disappointed with it. I tried to read "Invisible Life" AFTER "Just As I Am" but was angry because Mr. Harris killed off my favorite character, "Kyle" so I just couldn't get into it, knowing what was going to happen to him. While I would not give it a "10" I felt "Just As I Am" was a better book. I have not been inclined to read Mr. Harris's current book, "If This World Were Mine" after browsing through it in the bookstore. I feel it is more or less for the 21 and under age group and not my age group, 40 and over.
