Summary: Incredible-deserves more attention
Review: This is wonderful! All five of the stories are very descriptive, have lots of action, and just really make you feel like you are doing what the character you're reading about is doing.

This book is a collecion of five short stories about the six bounty hunters that Vader sent out to find Han Solo. The five stories are the tales of IG-88, Dengar, Bossk, Zuckuss and 4-LOM, and Boba Fett.

Each of the bounty hunters goes their own seperate ways, trying to find Han Solo. Though they all want to find Solo to fill their pockets with money, each of them also has seperate things to do, such as IG-88 controlling droid production, Dengar finding his true self through his cyborg mind, Bossk getting around Tinian and Chen, 4-LOM trying to take care of Zuckuss, and Boba Fett tracking down to find his enemy-and make himself be the eternal winner.

I highly reccommend that you buy this, because it truly is very good. Anyone who likes science fiction would probably really enjoy this.

Also, this book did not get much attention when it came out, and it still doesn't get much. As soon as I found it sitting at a book store, I knew I had to get it. I had never heard of it before, I had never seen it before, and I had never seen a review of it before. Now, I love it. It really is good.

Summary: Very competant writing
Review: The problem with media fiction is that it can't acheive what original works do, but these are pretty good stories that aside. Also, if you like space adventure I suggest that you try out Larry Niven's Known Space series, a series that rivals both Star Wars and Star Trek for epic vision.Or any book by Robert Heinlein.

Summary: A Mildly Entertaining Book For Fans Of the Star Wars Univers
Review: Overall, I'd have to say that this book really didn't add much to my understanding of or interest level in the Star Wars universe. This is primarily due to the fairly simple writing displayed by most of the book's writers. I'd have to agree with many of the story preferences noted by earlier reviewers. The Bossk story is easily the worst, mainly because it really isn't even about Bossk. Not far behind it in quality is the Boba Fett story, which reads like a bad rewrite of The Lady and The Tiger. I also didn't really care for the IG-88 story. It, like its subject, simply got out of control at the end. I did enjoy Dengar's tale, which helped flesh out the character. Finally, I really enjoyed the Zuckess and 4-LOM tale. It not only had wonderful characterization, but also a great story. It was the only tale of the five that fulfilled the promise of giving life to these characters, most of whom had all of a minute on the screen.

Am I now inspired to read more of these Star Wars anthologies? No. There's better Star Wars literature out there (Timothy Zahn's Heir to the Empire trilogy comes to mind). I also can't see this book inspiring people who aren't fans to read more about the Star Wars universe. For Star Wars fans though, it is a somewhat entertaining look at some of the minor characters in the mythology.

Summary: A good read, very enjoyable, but has several problems.
Review: I'm not really a big fan of the EU books, but I enjoy the "Tales" books. But out of all three, "Tales of the Bounty Hunters" would have to be the worst of the three. Don't get me wrong; this book is good, and I enjoy reading it. Several of the stories are very good, and offer a lot of background information about the bounty hunters that you wouldn't know about in the movie. But a couple of the stories were only either okay or just plan terrible, which bogged down the overall quality of the book. I'll go through each tale and discuss their pros and cons:

1. IG-88: Starts off extremely well. I loved how he killed off all the Imperial scientists (reminded me of the Terminator). But as soon as he takes over the droid factory on Mechis III, the story goes downhill from there. I won't spoil it, but the ending completely betrays the movie ROTJ. Contrived and stupid. Read the beginning and skip the rest. Final Grade: 2/5

2. Dengar: By far, the best of the stories. This story made Dengar my favorite bounty hunter. Well-written and believable. The ending was a little too sappy, but that's only a minor quibble. And as a bonus, it even included Boba Fett as a supporting character. And I liked Manaroo; she was neat. Great work, Mr. Wolverton. Final grade: 5/5

3. Zuckuss and 4-LOM: At first, I thought this story would be the worst, but I was wrong. It was actually very good. I liked how they assisted the Rebels in escaping from the Imperials in the Hoth battle. Again, a sappy ending, but I rather have a happy ending than have them get killed. Very enjoyable reading. Final Grade: 4/5

4. Bossk: Forget this one. Utter garbage. Within five pages, I was immediately bored. Skip it. Final Grade: 1/5

5. Boba Fett: This one was the most interesting. Parts of it dragged a bit, but overall it was good and suspenseful. I especially liked the ending, but it left a cliffhanger. We don't really know what happens to Fett and Solo after that. The second best in the book. Final Grade: 4/5

Overall, an average contribution to the EU universe, with several excellent stories and a few questionable ones. I recommend this to all SW fans. May the Force be with you.

Summary: Excellent, I enjoyed every second.
Review: If you are a Star Wars fan and love the Bounty Hunters, then I recommend Tales of the Bounty Hunters. It is an excellent mixture of suspense and drama. From IG-88 to Boba Fett and even Dengar, the action is non-stop. One more time, it is a definite five star book and deserves high praise.

Summary: The Bossk story ruined it!
Review: All of the stories were excellent, except for the Bossk story. It was stupid and boring. Without it I would have rated this book 5/5.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This book is a must for Star Wars fans.
Review: This book was a great combo of stories from 5 great authors. It is about 6 diffrent bounty hunters and their goals. The bounty hunters consist of Boba Fett, IG88, 4LOM, Zuckuss, Bossk, and my favorite Dengar.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER
Review: The reason I only give this book four stars is because of the unsatisfying endings. Each story was good (in fact, VERY good) in the middle, but they led up to a whole lot of nothing.

IG-88's ending was an interesting twist, but kind of ridiculous.

Dengar's ending was cheesy and made Boba Fett sound like a little wuss.

Bossk's ending......... HUH?!!!

Zuckuss and 4-Lom had a decent ending, I suppose.

Boba Fett's ending REALLY pissed me off. Too many questions were left unanswered.

It just seems that if you're going to write about such interesting characters, you should give them some satisfying closure.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: good but cut out bossk story
Review: It was a awesome book ilike how dengar is portrayed, but the bossk story is really bad.IG-88 is realy dangerous.Boba Fett is number one bounty hunter in my book.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A good read
Review: A review of the five stories: I would have to say that IG-88's story was the best of the bunch, eclipsing Boba Fett's. As an unlikely insight into the mind of a droid, it was very creative. Dengar's was one of the better stories. It didn't slow down, which was a plague of some of the other stories. Bossk's story dragged on and never really amounted to much at all. It really had no point. Zuckuss and 4-Lom was slow at times, but it was overall a good story, once again venturing into the mind of a robotic creature. Boba Fett's story was better than most of the others. It really kept the mystery and drama of Star Wars in perspective, while never revealing too much. The ending of that one was a bit disappointing, but then again, I guess a definitive ending would reveal too much. 4 Stars overall.
