Rating: Summary: Good plot + good writing + lots of imagination= ARENA Review: As a reading/writing teacher, and writer myself, I was gald I read this book. The Plot captured me from chapter one. It is also written in proper english (though I found some split infinitives). Anyway.. it's Magic the Gathering at its best. BRAVO!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Great, well written, exellent Review: I loved it. It was well written and extremely real scenerio. It was an exellent book, I would recommend this book to anyone.
Rating: Summary: An explosion of magic to start the series! Review: Arena had tons of magic woven into the pages. The author casts an explosive spell on the pages with words. The story goes into the five houses of magic and tells superbly the tale of Garth One Eye.
Rating: Summary: YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PLAY MAGIC TO READ THIS BOOK Review: I do play Magic: The Gathering, a card game based on magical spells. I do not love this book because it deals with Magic: The Gathering----I love this book because it is so darn good! The cleverness of all the characters and the emotions in the book are so great. I love this book so much and I hope you try it because if you do you will love yourself for buying it. And if you don't want to buy it you could try looking in a library, but I don't think many carry it. Do anything to get this book. Murder, extortion, prostitution, anything!!!!!
Rating: Summary: well written, touching, adventurous book Review: This is definitely one of the best books I have ever read. It's characters are well thought out and their interactions are so believable and intriguing! Then main character is Garth One-eye, later found to be Galin, son of the former Master of one of the fighting house of Magic, who was murdered along with the rest of his house for the greed of one man who sought great power. Garth comes to seek revenge on him, and with the help of Hammen and many others he succeeds. It is too difficult to explain all the different parts of this book because so many characters and events are involved. I almost cried about Garth's loss and was overjoyed when he defeated his enemies and banished the corruption that engulfed his world. I will bet you anything that once you read the first chapter of this book you will know I am right, that this book is one of the greatest ever written. Try it. You will read it again and again.
Rating: Summary: This great book is worth buying! Review: I throughly enjoyed reading this exciting story about the spells of magic. The author made it all seem real, almost like organized crime. It was overall interesting an ddefinitly worth the money
Rating: Summary: Very well, written book Review: Very good book about corruption and magic. Spells that you only see in the cards appear in the satchels of these fighters. It focuses around Garth One-eye, whose previous alliances will be revealed through the book! Three stars of great Magic: The Gathering
Rating: Summary: It truly is the greatet fantasy lit. book ever to exist! Review: I would have to disagree to al those that have found better fantasy lit. books out there. I do aknowledge that there are other fine fantasy lit. books written by other authours. However this book was a well written, worded and full of shear exitiment. The way the story twists and turns about keeping you on edge at all times is amazing. The only thing I found this book lacking was a sequel! Magus :-)
Rating: Summary: a truly innovate book. and its corresponds with the game. Review: This book is amazingly creative. The spells and creatures in this book are inspired by the card game Magic: the gathering. If you are into the game you will like this book.
Rating: Summary: ok Review: This book is about a fighter mage who is seeking revenge. It's written well. The text isn't perfect but it's ok. The thing that i liked about is the mention of magic. I'm a magic player with many of the cards that he writes about. This book is a good read but it isn't like WAR AND PEACE as others seem to have said it was.
