Summary: I read and Reread this book until I had to buy a new one.
Review: I'm a big fan of the Fighter-Mages and the Pit Fighters and this was an excellently-written novel that showed the best and worst of the Fighters. Any true fan would have to agree that this is perhaps the best of the early M:tG novels published as it has action, adventure, a little romance, a wonderful storyline, and just enough suspense to keep you reading long after you wanted to take that much-needed restroom break. I've read my copy so many times the pages are yellow and worn and the cover's creased. It's an excellent read. I've read most every book in the series save the newest and some of the older ones and I have yet to find one I liked as much. My brother feels the same and is the reason I bought my second copy and my stepfather, not even a fan of the card game, can't put the book down as it's now HIS turn to read it. Odessey gave only a fraction of the true Fighter spirit Arena delivers. Garth One-Eye would laugh in Kamahl's face and send the Barbarian back to the mountains in shame. :)

Summary: garth
Review: Garth One-eye is one of the best characters ever, only one better is the immortal Lestat. Great story, for being the first in the series it is astoundingly well written. It grips you from the start and never lets you go. I still want more from the story of Garth One-eye.

Summary: Still My Favorite Book of All Time
Review: I just picked it up again tonight, and began reading through it researching for a project. Imagine that, actually using a book you read for fun for a project. Anyways, I effectively got now work done on the project because I was once again captivated by this amazing book. Just picking it up and opening to a page, I can find something I enjoy. The entire book is that good! If you haven't given it a try yet, or if you are thinking about reading it. I highly suggest you do. As you can see by the majority of these reviews everyone loved this book!

Summary: In awe of this book
Review: I read this book shortly after its original release, and as with all books, have not read it again. This detracts nothing from the impression I still feel when thinking about this book. An incredibly well written book. Garth is a hero for the ages. The action was quick, hard-packed, & exciting. The descriptions were perfect, never overdone, never vague. The deliberate lack of information from the author lends this story all the more appeal. I know I read this book in two days, sacrificing sleep and probably my homework grades... it was worth it. I recommended this book to my friends once I was finished reading it. They too, loved this book as much as I did. I can not say another book I have read has been pure fun like this one. I'm more of an epic series reader, but as a stand alone story, this is one of my all time favourites.

Summary: In Awe of this book.
Review: Fantasy is not Mr. Forstchen's usual genre. You wouldn't know this after reading Arena. The entire book is written superbly, and is an enticing read from the very first page. Garth, the main character, is suave, mysterious, powerful. A Hero in the making. The action is quickly paced, beautifully described, & keeps you turning page after page. I read this book four years ago, and I remember starting in the evening, and not getting any sleep. My advice to you is this: Get the book, but don't start it during the day.

Summary: True to the Game
Review: I have all 25+ novels published by Magic the Gathering and I love them all but I wish more books were like Arena. To me it is the best Magic book currently published. It's the only book that gives you the feel of the card game. Don't get me wrong I love all the other books but none compare to the atmosphere that Arena has. Arena is the only book that focuses on magicians going one on one in an attempt to be the last one standing. And that's what the card game is really about. I would recommend all the Magic books to anyone who likes science fiction books. However, if you play Magic and want a book closely related to the feel of the game I recommend Arena first and then the other books to help get the storyline behind Magic.

Summary: ONE OF THE BEST MAGIC BOOKS
Review: This book was one of the best M:TG books i have ever read! Clayton Emery is my other favorite! This book has a lot of action and spells! Trust me, I am a SERIOUS MAGIC THE GATHERING PLAYER!

Summary: Fantesy Classic
Review: This book starts out confusing thats what makes it so great. Most others tell you everything about a charecter to start then launch the adventure. With this book learning a bout the main charecter is the adventure! This book came out when magic the gathering came out right at the same time. This book is what set the world for the rest of the series even books like Nemsis have roots in this book so if you plan to read any others in the series this is a must. I have read this book 3 times and still love it. If you play the game and haven't read any of the books don't read this why? Well unless you started in 1993 you won't like the book that much because the book talks about lots of stuff that happened when the first set ALPHA was released. If you have never played magic I would reccomend this VERY HIGHLY. PLease read this every other book fallows in this books wake.
