Summary: The first book I've read on the matter
Review: This was the first book I've read about ghosts and hauntings in general but after reading this book I am fascinated for life. I read a few exerpts from this book to my family and have actually been able to relate to them. If you like to read about places such as Amityville then this book is for you. Many haunting stories, endless reading.

Summary: Ignore the above review who says Hans is full of himself
Review: Well this is the second book I own by Hans Holzer. This particular book is very well presented, altho I find Mr. Holzer's belief in ANYTHING presented as being "real". That's what it seems to me anyways. It's almost as tho anyone who claims an unusual sighting has some sort of " psychic" abilities... excuse me??
Well mercifully the stories arent horrendously long in this book, and there are many different ones presented. I think its worth owning and reading, but in my own opinion; I think the readers should take it with a grain of salt!

Summary: Stuck on yourself, Hans?
Review: Well, I bought this book figuring it was going to be a whole lot of ghost stories... It's kind of is and kind of isn't. I can't seem to get hooked on this book; maybe because I can't hold it up while lying in bed or because Hans Holzer may be a little (uh-hem) stuck on himself? He likes talking about ghost hunts he's been on, not ones that he's ever heard about or researched. It's not all a bad book; it just isn't what I was looking for. In the stories, he mainly discusses the goings on while he's there (seances, etc.). He doesn't do any research on the houses to find out what past owners have been there, who the ghosts might be, he just straight up asks the ghosts who they are. Like I said, it's not a bad book, I just can't get hooked on it. And make sure to read the dimensions and weight because it is HEAVY!!

Summary: After reading the other reviews....
Review: Yes the book is HUGE and if you have read his other books then it most likely is a waste of money. But if you expect this to be scary try fiction instead. If you wonder how he makes contact about "100%" like someone else said: remember he isn't going to include all failures, if he did no one would read his work. I didn't find the stories biased like some others did. I think the intro was where he left his strongest opinions (And I think he makes it clear what is opinion and what it is he actually has seen/heard/etc.)
