Summary: A truly great book.
Review: I'm an 18 year old high school student and I borrowed this book from my shop teacher. I expected it to just be a collection of ghost stories, but I was pleasantly surprised at just how fascinating it was. The real cases of hauntings are great too but the best thing is reading about Dr. Holzer's ideas on death. I never really believed in Heaven or Hell and things like that, but I always felt there was something there after death. For all my life I have had ideas on death and they will always be changing untill the day I die. But this book taught me some fundamental things I'll always remember. If you're just looking for ghost stories you may or may not want this book, but if you are really looking for a reason or idea on life and death you should get this book. It is fascinating.

Summary: A book to convert the skeptics.....
Review: I, too, expected this book to read like a traditional ghost story collection. I was a little surprised to find out that it's more like a catalog of experiences written in factual form than a book of stories. I wasn't disappointed with the book, however, because the majority of the accounts were quite intriguing, despite the dry format. I've been interested in the paranormal for all of my seventeen years, and this book comfortingly reinforces my belief in an afterlife. I recommend this book mostly to the skeptics. Who knows, they just might learn something.

Summary: Informative
Review: If you would like to learn a lot about the paranormal read this book. The author has actually studied the supernatural so there is an extra dimension to this book not found in other ghost story books. If you are looking for an entertaining true ghost story book "Haunted Delaware" is awesome.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Only for those interested in research.
Review: If you're wanting to use this book as a reference, then it is ideal. However, if you're just out to read a good ghost story, then this isn't the book for you. This book explores many parts of the paranormal realm. If you are heavily interested in studying ghosts and spirits, then this book is a good deal for the price.

Summary: No wonder I bought this on sale......
Review: The book is full of editorial mistakes. These include misspellings of names, different dates throughout the sections of descriptions, etc. I was constantly flipping back to doublecheck something. Furthermore, sometimes the sections repeated themselves, only written differently, which led me to think he was trying to make the book as large as possible. And not all the research is his own, it would seem, because sometimes there would be only a decription of a haunting from somewhere with no mention of his involvement.

Overall though, the book is interesting and full of excellent and well documented accounts. Particularly, I am impressed by his striving to keep the medium away from an initial interactions with the 'victims', or not providing any background information on an investigation. He makes one critique, I think, of Ed and Lorraine Warren, and wonders how much animosity lies between these two types of researchers.....

Summary: Ghosts-Hans Holzer
Review: This book is more a compilation of previously published stories of the Author and less a new volume of work. It is also oddly laid out. If you like Hans Holzer's slightly blase' and clinical take on the supernatural, and don't mind a stroll down memory lane, then this is the book for you.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: This book deserves less than 1 star
Review: This book is nothing more than a compilation of earlier stories, none of them very well-written or particularly interesting. The writing style is that of a high-school term paper, and there is no addendum or follow-up on any of the stories (which were originally written several decades ago). I wouldn't recommend buying this book if you are looking for a scary night-time read.

Summary: Holzer Rehash
Review: This handsome (if oddly organized) hardcover book turns out to be just a compilation of Holzer's cheaply produced paperbacks from the 1960s. If you've never read Holzer before, then this latest book will serve as a great introduction to Holzer's dogged pursuit of the supernatural. On the other hand, if you have read those earlier Holzer's books, then you may feel, as I did, disappointed. Holzer could have produced a truly interesting book had he returned to the scenes of his forty-year old ghost stories. Are the ghosts still active? Who owns the haunted houses now? Have changes in the neighborhoods affected the hauntings?

Summary: Ghosts : True Encounters With the World Beyond
Review: This is THE Hans Holzer book to own. I love this author, although I have found that his tales frequently appear in more than one volume of his work. For instance, I own four different books by this gentleman, and one story appears in all four! However, I would recommend this book to everyone interested in true ghost stories. It may be his definitive book, and it truly is worth owning.
