Rating: Summary: One of the greatest Star Wars Anthologies EVER!!! Review: This book, with 19 stories from some of the greatest Star Wars writers ever, can be read again and again. 10/10 for me.
Rating: Summary: Short and Sweet Review: This gets my vote for the best of the "Tales" series. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the series, they collect short stories about characters who you may have seen in the backgrounds of the Star Wars setting that they focus around. I loved the way that many of these tales revolved around events that happened in RotJ, or reflected what happened following the movie. This book had several very strong tales, including that of Yarna D'Al Gargan, Bib Fortuna, and my personal favorite, the tale of Malakili. The stories were kept short, but not to the expense of either plot or character development. None of the stories were particularly boring, but for some of them you have to be "in the mood". Still, the major stories in this are just great, and well worth keeping on your bookshelf as a light read.
Rating: Summary: Star Wars Review: This is a collection of short stories. It is interesting and helps fill in some gaps. However, do not expect main movie characters to be a big part of the book.
Rating: Summary: Great book! Review: This is a really good collection of stories. They all are intertwined with one another, but each is from a different character's point of view. The best tales were Boba Fett's (of course),the Band's, the Rancor Keeper's, and the Fat Dancer's. The weak links were the assassin's tale and maybe the weequay's tale, and some of the endings were a bit anticlimactic (a few too many people ended up becoming B'omarr monks). Otherwise definitely read this, especially if you don't have a great deal of time to spare, because most of the tales are fairly short.
Rating: Summary: Read it, you will not forget it. Review: This novel was an amazing feature to the literature about Star Wars. I know as someone who has a fond love for Star Wars that this book proves to be a richly exciting, informational, and a lot of fun. I think all star wars fans will enjoy the number of stories that seem so distant at first. But as you proceed into the maze of ongoings in the palace you find they are all connected. How? Every tale interacts with another. Is that good? Yes, of course. You can see how interesting it exactly is. The thing is no matter whether you like Zahn better than Anderson, or maybe Barbara H. does it for you, they all have a tale to tell in this book.
Rating: Summary: A great read...if you don't have it, GET IT! Review: This was an excellent book. I especially liked "Of the Days Annoyances". This was an interesting story and so was the book on a whole. I recomend this to lovers of Star Wars and even those who aren't. The Boba Fett story is a big help for those Fett fans like me who thought his death (or was it really a death?) in the movie was a little to sudden. I always hated the fact that he, the greatest and strongest BH ever should die so soon. Anywho, those are my two favorite storys. Along the others I liked were Oola's tale, and the Gammorean guards tale. But that doesn't matter, because your the one whos gonna read it. So if you don't have it, than pick it up already! You'll be glad you did.
Rating: Summary: Da Best Review: This was one of the best starwars books I have ever read. Read this one and find out really who want to kill jabba and find out what happenes after jabba's death. Also Recommend the other tales books
Rating: Summary: Bantha Fodder? NO WAY! Review: Those creatures in the beginning of the film will feel more like familiar friends than faceless nobodies wandering around in the background after reading this! Very well written stories for each individual character which mostly tie-in to other one's somehow. The stories are also pieced together perfectly, and contain a short conclusion their stories at the end of the book with a "What Happened Them.." sort of deal. Don't pass this up!
Rating: Summary: Bo shuda! (buy this book!) Review: What an excellent follow-up to the excellent Tales From the Mos Eisley Cantina! There are 19 stories in this book and each is charming in its own way. A few standouts are 1. A Boy and His Monster: The Rancor Keeper's Tale, the story of Malakili, who loved the horrible beast like it was his own son! 2. A Time to Mourn, A Time to Dance: Oola's Tale, a touching story about the poor slave that was forced to dance for Jabba's amusement. 3. And Then There Were Some: The Gamorrean Guard's Tale is one of the funniest things I've ever read! Also one of the most enjoyable Star Wars reading experiences I've had! Hats off to William F. Wu on this story! 4. And The Band Played On: The Band's Tale is very funny and also touching at times. 5. Of the Day's Annoyances: Bib Fortuna's Tale is a strange story involving Jabba's major-domo and the B'omarr monks, who are famous for sticking brains in mechanical spiders. 6. Skin Deep: The Fat Dancer's Tale the interesting and touching story of Yarna d'al' Gargan, who teams up with Sergeant Doallyn for quite an adventure. These are just a few of the highlights here. Also included is a very cool idea that wasn't in Tales From the Mos Eisley Cantina: an epilogue. It is nice to find out what happened to these fascinating characters later on. If you are a Star Wars fan, you'll love this book. I highly recommend it. Buy this now and put a copy of Return of the Jedi in your VCR to see how many of these characters you can find. Happy hunting!
Rating: Summary: Interesting then tiresome Review: When I first started this book it seemed very interesting to me.You find out what happens to all those background aliens in Jabba's palace, however there are more boring stories than interesting ones. Also the same occurances happen in each tale so you read the same thing from someone else's point of view and it can drive you mad.Salacius crumb's tale is my favorite. The Rancor keeper's tale is also good.I only wish the tales occured at different times instead of all at the same time.It would of made the book way more interesting.Worth reading if you are a die hard star wars fan like myslf but that is as far as it goes
