Summary: Star league battlecruiser emerges out of the mists of time
Review: This is the first major strike against the Clan homeworlds, following a trail blazed by the Smoke Jaguar defector in the first of the "Twilight of the Clans" series. A huge fleet is assembled, with dozens of ships, including transports and the Inner Core's best warships. Even some new Frigates built using recaptured Star League technology. But most chilling and impressive is the emergence of a 300-year-old Star League battle cruiser-- it had been hidden and hoarded for centuries by Com Star for just such a grand and glorious battle. By far the largest warship in the fleet, and probably the largest in space for that era. Wow! There is one naval engagement with a Ghost Bear fleet, to whet our appetite for action, but the REAL action is building toward the sequel. Think of this novel as "Part 1." Here's good character building, good plot, and good action. Helps forget the stasis and total lack of action of the preceding volume in this series. The Hunters is highly recommended ! ! !

Summary: Great First Book for Gressman
Review: To all those who complain that this book didn't have enough "cool 'mech combat" I must say that drama is more than combat. The atmosphere of tension hanging over the characters in this book was palpable. The naval battle was incredible. The end was........well, I'll let you find out for yourself. A great read.

Summary: ..'could only be an inner Sphere invasion force'...
Review: Well I can't give this 5 stars, despite the fact that it is a relativly good book. Unlike other books, we do have to go on for a while withouut real combat, but training HAS to happen sometime Quaff? Anyway, the first naval battle in 300 years for the inner sphere go's on a bit long, but is fairly easy to follow, and the reaction of the clanners to see none less then a CAMERON class battle cruiser charging towards you...well... Biast towards the inner sphere to an extent, however it leaves you hanging with the trechary at the end and makes you wonder if all these house units who were trying to kill each other a while ago will be able to come together. At any rate, a good read, especialy for the Naval battle, but loses a star due to the books pace.

Summary: Great, you are learning Gressman
Review: Well, I could not rate it 5 stars, it was not all that, but it was an excellent addition to the Battletech book universe. Gressman had the honor of writing about a space battle, which gives us a new look at the Battletech wars. All though the first few pages were ful of boring training and the book had no interesting 'Mech combats, Gressman can really write a book.

Summary: The Clans have turned wuss...
Review: Well, the Inner Sphere bias has turned amazing in the new book. Not only are Elementals suddenly becoming easier and easier to defeat (as opposed to not being stopped by a medium laser in their first appearance, and massive trauma being an ignorance!) but of course the Clan OmniMechs and fearsome Warships are now also easy to defeat, and they don't even THINK of getting off a message...

However, I would recommend this book if you want some political views...who is trying to stop the Task Force? And why?

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A new and intersting aspect of the Battletech universe.
Review: While the book is not cover to cover action, not even half, it does show several new aspects to the Battletech univese. First, we see the depth of the mercenary culture in the inner sphere. Second, the lost art Warship of warfare is rediscovered. Third... well you will find out.
