Summary: Good for an Authors first Novel
Review: The beginning did not keep me interested at all, the training gave you no real explanation of the characters and kept youin the dark for about 10 chapters, it was as if there was no personality, but as the book progressed after that I couldn't stop reading it, and considering the quality and effort as an authors first novel so I give it 4 stars.

Summary: full of kickbutt combat action
Review: The hunters offers an almost non stop searies of fights as the inner sphere strikes back, facing warships- the most powerful weapons ever built in the battletech univers.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A MUST BUY
Review: The troops are assimbled, the new Lord is in his seat and there is war brewing in the Inner Sphere. The 5 Great Houses wants to do what no other person has thought of doing. The only problem is they must do it together. Robert Thurston has created one of the best Battletech novels I have ever read. If you're into the more subtle aspect of Battletech this book is for you.

Summary: A relatively good book for a new author.
Review: This book followed the others in the Twilight of the Clans series. The story started out with an exciting, yet unrealistic, attack that a DEST team launched on a Clan outpost. From there, it moves to the planet (the name escapes my mind) where Task Force Serpent (the task force that is to take Huntress, the homeworld of the Smoke Jaguars) is training. The author goes on to describe a few training exercises. Then they leave the Inner Sphere, travelling via a secret route, into the heart of Clan space. A couple of monthes into their long journey, they encounter a few Ghost Bear warships. The battle is very detailed and well written. Soon after, they approach their destination. But all is not well...before they can get there, the crew is halted by the assassination of...

Come on, you didn't think I'd give it away, did you? Sorry. You're gonna have to read it for yourself.

Summary: Phenomenal
Review: This book truly opens the Battletech universe. With masterful writing, the author brings to life breathtaking space and land battles. Bringing a previously neglected side of the universe into play.

Summary: Good but not great
Review: This book, though not as good as the others in the series will need to be read, however if you are a fan of Micheal Stackpole you will find that this book drags a bit. One of the things that I did like about the book was that the author was one of the first to give the DEST teams their due. To often in recent Battletech novels they have been easily defeated, they ARE supposed to be among the most vaunted warriors of the Inner Sphere. To summarize, though this will undoubtedly be among the worst of the series it is a necessary read. To be the worst novel in a series of outstanding novels is not the end of the world.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: A good book, but not a great one
Review: This book, while exciting, definetly shows the inner sphere bias of all the recent books. The battle is laughable in the stupidity of the Clan commander. I mean, the Comguards can be excused for not having anyting resembling tactics, but the clans have been fighting Warship battles for centuries. Still, it's got some good action, and also points out the weakness of the inner sphere to treachery, something that has been neglected recently. A far better book than freebirth, but not as good as it should have been. Skip freebirth and read this.

Summary: A book you must buy!
Review: This is the first book I have from Thomas S. Gressman in the battle tech universe. Without a doubt A BOOK YOU MUST BUY! My friend Kit Kaboodle also requests that you buy it.
