Summary: Hard to put down
Review: With the number of SF Novels always coming out, only a few are of the type that get someone as wrapped up in the story as this one. S. L. Viehl presents the medical aspects of a SF Story, instead of the technology aspect, which is rare. I highly recommend this for everyones summer reading list.

Summary: Fun and Interesting
Review: I found Stardoc to be a book I couldn't put down. The different characters were interesting and some laughable. Cherijo's character made me laugh at some of the ways she handles each situation. I especially love the tention between Cherijo and Reever, I can't wait to see what happens to between those two. The aliens were all different but the way Viehl wrote the book you could really visualize them. I gave this book 4 stars. I think everyone would enjoy it.

Summary: An original and FUN read
Review: Wow now this was one of the more original scifi stories I've read in awhile. The characters are intruiging and the descriptions brought them to life. The revelation of how the League views our heroine was startling but seemed realistic. The only low part about this book is that it left me having to wait for more.

Summary: A Star Among Stars
Review: The adventures of Dr. Cherijo Grey Veil lead her into unexpected territories, literally. Fleeing to an alien environment she expects to find anonymity and finds herself the center of attention. Without giving away the cruncher, there is an unexpected triangle that leaves the reader wanting more. I applaud Ms Viehl on this story. The descriptions of the inhabitants are imaginative and realistic at the same time. I love the way she brought out the individual personalities and mannerisms. I am an avid reader of Marilyn Campbell and Ann Maxwell and will now include her on my list. A light science-fiction/romance/thriller that I read in two days. Now I am anxiously awaiting the sequel. Please? P.S. A big Thank You to Catherine Coulter for the very right-on recommendation! A VERY satisfied reader

Summary: StarDoc
Review: This is a marvelous book. It features Cherijo Grey Feather, a feisty, intelligent heroine, who has discovered a truth about herself and her father so upsetting that she has uprooted herself from her home world to get away from her father. Cherijo is a surgeon, and she has signed on to be a doctor on a colony world light years from Earth. This book relates her experiences with alien medicine, as well as her growing knowledge about herself and what she truly is. The book is non-stop suspense. It has elements of the best of space opera, but with better characterization. The medical sequences, describing the treatment of some truly alien beings, were great. I can't wait for the sequel!

Summary: What a wonderful Book!
Review: I have been reading science fiction for over 35 years. This has got to be one of the most enjoyable reads that I have devoured. Ms. Viehl presents the main character in a compassionate and competant manner. She knows her medical practices and terminology but does not bog you down in unnecessary details. There were twists and turns througout the book and enough mystery to keep me reading well into the night. I'm really looking forward to the next book in this series. Very enjoyable, and reminds me of White's Sector General Series.

Summary: A nurse from Michigan 2-6-00
Review: Most enjoyable, enjoyed the medical aspect and she also portrays her characters well. I am looking for to the sequel this summer.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Fun reading
Review: The story is good and the characters are appealing. It reminded me a lot of what a "Sector General" novel (James White) would have been like if it were written by Anne McCaffrey. This novel is more complex than the typical Anne McCaffrey novel, in a good way. Viehl is very imaginative and has come up with a lot of interesting and fun ideas. My only negative comment is that the author should have let someone with more of a science background pre-read the novel and make suggestions. (I'd make the same comment about most Anne McCaffery novels.) It's the first in a series and I look forward to the next novel.
