Summary: Another great one
Review: It's a shame that we allways have to wait so many years for the next one. Not as good as Book 1 and 2. The first book i read in german, the rest in english, started back in 1990. Turn it off. Let them live and win this war agains the chtorr. Great stuff but as everybody else says. Keep it going or end it, but DO SOMETHING. It's not fair to all of us, who buy your books. Think about it!

Summary: Best I have ever read
Review: My review title actually refers to the series. This book, as well as the other 3 in the series, are simply fascinating. I read alot, and can usually figure out what is going to happen before the author lets us readers in on things. In these books, with few exceptions, I cannot. And I certainly have no idea where DG is headed with the worms, bunny dogs, all the weird plant life and so on. I REALLY wish there would be another book in this series. Maybe if DG has lost the edge, he can hire another writer to take over and get the thing to the conclusion he supposedly already has in mind? OK, bottom line, his character development is good, writing detains excellent, and the conversations and character interactions so well thought out, the book reads fast and easy, and you will want to read it again.

Summary: Re; Sexual orientation
Review: Personaly I think many people miss the point that by book four the war is not going well. We are losing. I believe that the author is using the bizzarre behavior, sexual and otherwise, to depict human society in total disintigration. I can hardly wait for book five.

Summary: Just wait, and stop badgering Gerrold
Review: The first 4 books of this series are one of the greatest achievements in Sci-Fi literature. That also makes it one of the greatest betrayals ever perpetrated by an author upon his readers. I don't know what the deal is, greed, illness, a lobotomy, but books 5 (A Method for Madness) & 6 (A Time for Treason) don't look like they will ever see daylight. I found the author's site where there is mention of a movie based on the series but I don't think it's going anywhere and he wouldn't reply to email.

There is a special place in hell reserved for authors of unfinished series, David Gerrold claimed his with this one. I recommend against reading this, it's too painful to stop so abruptly. An incredible tragedy.

Summary: A Case for a Classic
Review: The War against the Chtorr series of books was first published in the mid eighties. At a later point, the incomplete series was rereleased with a few changes. I first read the first three novels in a single hardback collection that I borrowed from a friend's house, and loved it. At the time, I was unaware that David Gerrold had also written "the Trouble with Tribbles." I later bought what paperbacks(the first 4 novels) were available. This set has been with me through multiple moves, and is the last book I will read this millenium. This series has not become dated--in fact, many of the thoughts remain refreshingly new. David has created a very complete world that is easy to enjoy. The characterizations are complex, the plot engaging, and along with the intense descriptions combine to present a seamless experience. However, the series remains unfinished, so ultimately, you must resolve the fate of the world yourself.

Summary: Insightful, provoking, extremely entertaining.
Review: This whole series is among the best literature of any genre that I have read, and I am a very avid reader of literature from all genres. This series comes close to rivaling Frank Herbert's Dune in complexity. The story is wonderful; the characters are vivid and real, the setting is detailed and exciting, and the philosophical discussion is compelling. The only problem with the series is that it is not finished.

Summary: Where's book 5?!?!?!?!
Review: Well, i think this whole series is great and i'm tired of waiting for book 5, i heard he started it a long time ago, i think it was supposed to be called " A Method for Madness" but haven't heard squat about it for-ev-er!
