Rating: Summary: Coolest X-wing book (yet)!!!!!!!!! Review: This is the coolest X-wing book. I like this better than the original X-wing Rogue Squadron Series because with the Rogues, though some characters died, the ones that got focused on the most lived. Some characters didn't get focused on at all. And,also, in the original Rogue Squadron Series, it was kind of obvious who was gonna die, and who was the spy. I mean, I haven't read every Star Wars novel, but in "Wedge's Gamble", I just got a gut feeling that it was Erisi Dlarit. Also, it was obvious the traitor wasn't Tycho Celchu. With the Wraith Squadron Series, however, Mr. Allston focuses on all of the characters more or less equally. You have NO inkling of whose gonna die, except when you're like 1/2 a page away. And one good thing... the authors always include a roster of characters, so you can look them up if you're wondering their rank, what species they are, and where they're from. One bad thing though... in "Wraith Squadron", under the New Republic Military, Mr. Allston forgot to list Admiral Ackbar!
Rating: Summary: Not as good as other Star Wars books Review: This book was VERY, VERY disappointing to me and the I've only read a few Star Wars Books. The book was difficult to understand in some parts and boring in others, with 1 or 2 exciting parts. I liked Rogue Squadron more than this, it was the only other X-wing book I read.
Rating: Summary: The wraiths strikes! Review: I was a real fan of the four original "x-wing" books, and i must admit that i had my doubts about Aaron Allstons ability to set an atmosphere which matched the original. At the same time i must say that i was surprised in a very positive way. The book introduces some interesting persons, and i especially like Wedge, who i think has never been given the credit that he deserves. This combined with an interesting history makes this an excellent book, which i can only recommend. All in all "Wraith Squadron" is a worthy successor to four excellent books. Good work Aaron Allston.
Rating: Summary: a new author a new squad Review: this is a very cool book, i loved it every step of the way. the new squad is full of interesting pilots, all with a unique personalities. it is also extremly funny with jokes that the pilots are cracking and it captures the comradery of a close knit fighting group. The villians are aslo very distinctive in their mannerisms. this is a must read for any star wars fan.
Rating: Summary: Could be better, but still was fun to read. Review: Well, many others have said that this book is lacking when it comes to the villians. In Zahn's Trilogy, he described Thrawn as a brilliant tactician, much like Allston speaks of Trigit here. The exception is the Thrawn WAS a brilliant tactician in Zahn's books, and in this one, Trigit failed to devise strategies or any kind of tactics. Therefore, while reading this book, the reader expects Trigit to lose every battle he goes into. I think even I could have written this villian better. Other then that, the book follows the X-wing series just as Stackpole started it. If Trigit had more brains, this book would get 5 stars.
Rating: Summary: Is pretty strong, but comes up short in some places Review: Since I make a habit of going along with any series,it was no exption that I got this book. However, it took me at least 3 times of reading cover-to-cover to figure out what the heck was going on,but I eventually got it. This book has some neat ideas, such as pushing a squad of screw-ups with Wedge in command as the main characters. I really liked the authors choice of Kell Tainer as the main character, because it shows that someone else who screwed their life in the gutter and got a second chance abd mad the most of it. Overall, Ithink that this book is worth 3 stars because of the unusual lengh of time it took me to undersand it. I wonder why Mike Stackpole isn't writing anymore X-Wing books.
Rating: Summary: A refreshing change of pace in the Star Wars Universe Review: Mr. Allston's book displays a great deal of skill in character development and planning. Let's face it, it is not easy to construct a story following almost 20 characters without totally loosing the readers. Unlike the first four X-Wing books, keeping track of who's who in the squardon was much easier. The lightness, humor, and humanity of the book is a nice departure from the feeling of doom for the entire galaxy found in many of the Star Wars stories. I can hardly wait to read more of Mr. Allston's work!!!
Rating: Summary: okay Review: this was a sortof good book, but I love villians and this book SUCKED at that and of the stick. pretty good. Too bad you already now Warlord Z can't be in any dager of death( he's killed in Courtship of P. Leia). action was ok. The New Republic agent at the end was dumb.

Rating: Summary: Damn, It's had to say who you love more, Rouges or Wraiths! Review: This has got to be one of the best Star Wars books to date. I first thought the X Wing series couldn't be topped. I was wrong! This was the first Star Wars book with a well written ending that tied up everything, read well and still left room for the next installment! Bravo!
