Summary: Best Book I've ever read in my entire life
Review: Never before have I read a better book. I could not put it down and now have read all the book in the series. You feel as if you know the characters personally and want to pray for their safety. I reccommend this book to every single person on this planet.

Summary: Ashamed to be called a Christian
Review: Please, please, anyone out there who reads this review, please understand that outside of fundamentalist churches Christians do not, I repeat DO NOT, believe in a "rapture" or any of this awful stuff. Please try to understand, this is not all that Christianity is made of--it breaks my heart to think that while this stuff is hyped right and left, thinking people see this and get further confirmation of how crazy and foolish "Chiristians" are. Believe me, please, outside of fundamentalist churches, this stuff is foreign, and so if you are interested in Jesus, don't let this madness drive you away.

Summary: Leave it Behind--Read the Bible
Review: I had looked forward to this book, having had it recommended to me by many diverse people. What a disappointment. For plot, characterization, and writing stick to the Bible. If these writers are the ones "going," please leave me behind.

Summary: FASCINATING!
Review: My review is simple. This book is some of the most fascinating reading that could be fiction and non-fiction at the same time. Great for the Christian and the "Non-Christian," alike. Well worth a look.

Summary: Another recommenation for you. . .
Review: To all lovers of the LEFT BEHIND series, let me recommend another sensational author you will love: Glenn Kleier. His novel, THE LAST DAY is nothing short of brilliant and I believe you will find it just as astounding as I have. It's become my all time favorite novel and I'd like to share the great enjoyment it gave me.

Summary: Am not a christian, but . . .
Review: I am not a christian, but bought the first in the series while searching for something to read in a discount store.

Found the story gripping, and have since purchased numbers 2-6 in the series.

Summary: Non-Christian enjoyed the book
Review: I am not a Christian and enjoyed the book. It was an exciting page-turner with characters I cared about.

All I had to do was accept the premise and then I could enjoy the book. I even was waiting on pins and needles to see which of the main characters would accept Jesus as their savior before the end and be able to resist the Anti-Christ.

I was a Baptist years ago so I was familiar with the premise of the story and the theological assumptions. The main assumption is refered to in Christian circles as First of the Week, that is, that the Rapture would occur before the seven year period of tribulation. Another is that all faithful Christians would be raptured not just those in certain churches.

The story did need some suspension of belief even while accepting the premise. I have heard that their are approxemately 10 percent born again Christians in the general population of America. I suspect this is far less in some countries. The disaster caused by people disappearing was way overdone. I suspect that there would be countries where very few people would be raptured.

I enjoyed the depiction of the people who were left behind, not only the protagonists but their allies and enemies. The ones who you will feel the sorriest for are those who were surprized that they were not taken.

I also liked the fact that all Bible verses were either quoted or paraphrased, thus not necessating having a Bible handy while reading the novel. The Book of Revelation is explained clearly and not just read verbatum but related to the action in the novel and also to possible future events in later novels.

I feel that anyone familiar with the premise of the novel will enjoy the book.

Summary: Agnostics and Atheists Beware!
Review: I am a Christian, but also a lay student of end-times philosophy, cults, and world religions. The Left-Behind series is thoroughly accurate to the sequence of events according to Biblical accounts in the books of Revelation, Daniel, Ezekiel, Joel, etc.. My great fear is that, in reading these books, the agnostic and atheist crowd will be making their final rejection of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

I find it extraordinary that the elitist snobs who have panned this book in one breath turn and call Christians "arrogant" in the next. I also find it intellectually bankrupt that Christians are the only group of people against whom vitriolic denunciation is not considered "hate speech".

I encourage everyone who is searching for the "true meaning of life" to find a clear-thinking Christian (YES, there are many of us out here), gain an introduction to the Bible, then read the Left Behind series. You will not be sorry!

Summary: Adding my opinion
Review: Hey. There's a large part of me that wonders why I'm writing this. After all, according to Amazon, there are 941 reviews of this book. So, why bother adding my voice to the multitudes? Well, first there's all the sniping that I saw in the various reviews. People, if you feel in your heart that you are a true Christian, what is your motivation to attack anyone elses opinion of this book? That's beyond me. But, here's my review of this book, take it for what you will. The briefest synopsis I can offer is this: Jesus comes back, raptures his church, and the stage is set for the 7 year Tribulation. Now, is this a perfect book? By no means, and I don't think the authors would say it is. They never made any claim to be Dickens, or Hawthorne, or Irving. What makes this book important is the message. Jesus, son of Joseph, is the Messiah. There's the message. Some reviewers have said, "This book overlooks the good done by all other religions." Not exactly. This book does a fine job at explaining the key points of Christian doctrine. 1. We are saved by faith alone, not by our good deeds 2. We are all sinners, and fall short of the glory of God 3. No one comes to the Father (God) except through Jesus Many of you, I hope, realize that those are roughly paraphrased from the Bible. If you read this book, read that book. If you don't read this book, still, read the Bible. It contains all the truth you will ever need. I don't pretend that this one little review on a website will help lead anyone to Christ, but that is my prayer. If you don't believe me, please, investigate the Bible. Talk to a preacher, who can show you the Messianic prophecy. They are all fufilled by Jesus Christ. But don't wait too long. Accidents happen all the time in this fallen world in which we live. Don't die without the truth. Thank you very much

Summary: Fast paced, engrossing, but...
Review: Successful novels often ascribe to a certain formula. This book pull off a powerful story within an easy to read, fast paced, well plotted format. People who've struggled with the Book of Revelations, or related complex commentary will appreciate a style and pace that allows the serious thinking to come after the read.

Though the message is preachy and forced through somewhat shallow and poorly delineated characterizations, it's still effective within its on limitations-delivering a good sermon in potboiler style.
