Rating: Summary: Plot Okay, Writing Stinks Review: I've heard a lot of customer reviews of this book, and I have to disagree with most of the people out there. I didn't like this book much at all. Yes, I am a devoted Christian...doesn't mean I have to like bad writing, boring plot construction, and flat characters. If you haven't read many books, you'll probably like this. If you're like me, and you've been reading a book every couple days since you were six, then you probably won't. If this book is helping to convert people - awesome! But as a literary work, it just doesn't cut it. The description is nil - I suspect this is probably due to the belief that modern readers don't want description. I have yet to feel any real affection or sympathy with the characters. They seem to be cardboard cut-outs - there's nothing behind them! The plot is predictable, uninteresting, and unchallenging. I honestly can't understand why everyone but me likes Left Behind...am I the only one!
Rating: Summary: Make your own decision - try it! Review: I've read tons of the reviews and have to share my viewpoint. Reading is for enjoyment - if you enjoy the story - great! If you can't put the book down - who cares if the writing isn't 1st class. Left Behind is easy to read, fast paced and keeps your interest. It exposes a Christian view of the coming of Christ; it's up to you whether you want to believe or not. As with most pieces of fiction writing, it's fiction with a tie into reality.I've read all six books so far and anxiously await the 7th in May. I've also read "Are We Living the End Times" (same authors) which backs up the truth of the the Left Behind series based on the Bible. Read the Bible, other books, and decide for yourself. The choice is yours! I hope you find the truth!
Rating: Summary: Judgment Day lite-- Review: If this is what's passing for a good read these days, we're all in serious trouble. Slow, dull, BADLY written, cliche-riddled, uninspired, draaaaagged out. Why does anyone waste time on such lightweight efforts when there are really excellent Judgment Day novels out there? If you haven't read Kleier's THE LAST DAY, you haven't read the best endtimes novel. It's a jewel. Also, King's THE STAND, while maybe not as much fun as LAST DAY, is still one of King's best works. Jenkins and Lehaye aren't in the same league.
Rating: Summary: Whoa! Review: A friend of mine told me about the book and I thought I would give it a shot. I've since thanked him for letting me know about it. The book is absolutely fantastic. This book has made me think about where I stand with God and where I should be heading. I couldn't possibly imagine going through what those "Left Behind" are going through. If you only read one book this year, this really should be the one.
Rating: Summary: If you think this is good, read The Last Day . . . Review: I read Left Behind, Assassins and Tribulation before I took a friend's recommendation and read another Judgment Day novel, Glen Kleier's The Last Day, which is INFINITELY better. There is vastly more story, provocative thought and soul rattling frights in The Last Day than in any of the above mentioned Jenkins/LaHaye books. That stuff is Judgment Day light in comparison and never delivers the deeper message and tensions that Last Day does. If you must read all these books, do yourself a favor and read them BEFORE you read Last Day, or you'll never go back to them. Last Day gives the whole experience that these lightweight attempts miss.
Rating: Summary: Left Behind Review: This is an excellent book. I couldn't put it down. Not only is it full of suspense but it makes the reader think about their own relationship with God. The characters are great and easy to relate to. I intend to read the whole series. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
Rating: Summary: This Present Darkness Review: There is something going on in the town of Ashton. What is it? Evil as great as 1,000 hurricanes. This evil takes many captives and holds on with a fierce grip, but of course, there are forces of the opposite. These other forces, forces of good, know their purpose and know that they are battling with the toughest of the bunch. To further the chances of good winning the war, prayers have to be made. The leaders of the pack are Pastor Hank Busche and newspaperman Marshall Hogan. Hank Busche believes firmly in what he preaches and his constant prayer is like fuel to the side of good. Marshall Hogan is the chief editor for Ashton's newspaper, The Clarion. He knows that things in Ashton are severely abnormal and he wants to know why. Between Marshall and Hank, the evil will surely lose the war. Or will it? I give this book 5 stars because it gets better with every written word and it always keeps you wondering: Who,What,When,Where,Why, and How. Take my advice and read this book.

Rating: Summary: ... Review: When I was in school my english teacher always told me to make up my own mind when meeting a new person or reading a book. I have just spent the last half hour reading others reviews on this book. Some would say that all those who say the book is good have to be somewhat of a Christian and those who did not like it must not be. I really enjoyed this book and the others in the series also. It spoke to my heart. The people in the book are represented to be real people with the same everyday cares and concerns as we all have and then boom the world changed on them. Sure they heard that it might happen, that someday the world would change so drastically that you could not hide from the truth. This is what I feel the message behind these books are: you can not go to heaven because you are a good person, you have to make a concious choice to live your life in a different way. If you are open to that you will enjoy this book. If you are not open to the fact that the way you live your life needs to change then you will find it boring, slow, full of propaganda and you will find the characters unrealistic. All books, music and movies give you what you are willing to put into it. So open your mind to the possibilities, open the front page of this book and see for yourself how you would judge this book. But don't forget this is your future too.
Rating: Summary: Awesome and thought provoking Review: This book was one of the best Christian fiction books I've read. It sticks true to Revelations. By the way, the number 144,000 refers to those who are Jewish converts after the rapture, and not to the number of people in the rapture. The last is aimed at Mr. Obnoxious.
