Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Amazing. Review: the book challenged my own beliefs in the lord. it was a book unlike any other that i have read. it involved drama, and slight adventure. i personally thought it was excellent. it was sort of mysterious in the beginning, finding out who were the main characters, but in the end it was clear who were the good guys and who werent. but all in all it had its bad parts and good ones, but its sort of a religious book, and im not religious but the authors have me hooked on the series.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Shell Shocked, Amazed, and thinking even harder now... Review: Either you'll love the series or you'll hate it. If you hate it, read it again! This powerful story begins today and makes you think the whole way through. This book is far from the absurd. Do yourself a favor and appreciate the books for what they stand for! You don't have to assume that this is the exact truth of the rapture and the years to follow. Just try to imagine it being close to the truth. LaHaye & Jenkins didn't invent the idea of the rapture... they simply intensify the message!
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Cliched idea, lost in poor writing Review: I was shocked how poorly this book was written, and that this book was published at all! It sets an ambitious agenda, to portray the post- Apocalyptic world, but then proceeds to fail miserably in execution. For example, what happens to all those in prison? With many cops gone, what's preventing the breakdown of social order and rise of military regimes? Who'll clean up all of the dead and dying? Where is the mass hysteria that's certain to rise in such situations? The card-board characters are so poorly portrayed that the reader cannot sympathize with them even at the scenes designed to be tear-jerkers. Don't bother with this book, but if you're interested in the theme of "end of world", then don't miss Stephen King's "The Stand", which will leave behind "Left Behind" by a light year.

I was sold after Chapter one of this book. It's easy to follow along and doesn't skip around near as much as a few other christian fiction books. This is the Manual for those who will be left behind....you know who you are. Please, pick up a copy today, it'll change your life. Finally, praise God for his amazing grace. May you all be led into the peace and power of God through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Don't Get Left Behind! Review: "Left Behind" is a great start to this series. What would you do if many of your friends and loved ones suddenly vanished from the face of the earth? Was it the workings of aliens, God, or the Russians? I have read a lot of the reviews posted here on this book. I, for one, am not going to make a feeble attempt to criticize the authors. I will, however, say that the book was one of the most enjoyable reads that I have experienced lately. It has become a real page turner for me and it actually has forced me to ask myself a lot of questions. I don't believe that this book is an attempt to "convert" anyone. I believe it designed to be thought provoking. If you read this for its christian beliefs or for its fictional value, be prepared to get wrapped up in it!
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: The Greatest Story Ever Sold Review: my parents let me borrow their copy of this book thinking i might like it with my background in christian fundamentalism and my love for science fiction...i couldn't believe how poorly written it was! it reads as if it were written for a 6th grader. this book series is nothing more than a tool for fundamentalist recruitment of children and simpletons and a means for the authors to become rich beyond belief. wwjd? jesus would throw these millionaire "christians" out of the temple and onto the street and would teach them a thing or two about love, and forgiveness, and sharing. then he'd tell them to read "The Christ Conspiracy -- the Greatest Story Ever Sold" by Acharya S.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Good for what it was. Review: I was impressed and enthralled with this work. I will admit that, but you have to keep it in perspective. This is not fact and it in no way compares to the Bible. It is an enjoyable read and will draw you into the story, but for no reason should it be substituted for a genuine study of the Biblical book of Revelation. If the book spurs you on to greater invesitgation thats great. I am looking foward to the seventh book which is now available, but if you are looking for a gift for some unsaved friend that will "lead them to Christ" keep looking. This book seems to be written for Believers.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: A didactic disappointment Review: I purchased this book as a gift for my (unsaved) husband and am very disappointed by the lack of subtlety. This book is clearly intended to, "preach to the choir" and not to provide an entertaining read to audiences at large. The writing is mediocre.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Left Behind Review: The book left Behind by Tim Lahaye and jerry B. Jenkins is very thought provoking, scary, and biblically educational. Left Behind is very thought provoking by making the reader think about God, heaven, hell, and other altenatives for the future. "I considered everything. This was so far beyond human experience, what were we supposed to think?" (Rayford 169) It is scary because it puts reality of God leaving people behind into perspective. "OK, so if I take back that I won't even consider it, what does that mean? We become religious fanatics all of a sudden, start going to church, what? And who says it's not to late? If you're right, maybe we missed our chance forever." (Chloe 169)Also, it is biblically educational by helping readers understand the book of Revelation in the Bible and what is going to happen in the future. "Yeah, a true Christian. Apparently those who were taken were taken were recognized by God as truly His......................." (Rayford 165) These are three reasons why this is an excellent book.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: family book, fictional thriller, and has attention grabbers Review: Left Behind by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins is a very good book because it is a family book, has attention grabbers, and is a fictional thriller. The book is based on what the Bible says is the Rapture of the church. One reason that it is a family book is because it says that the characters stick with their families. This is one quote to back up the statement of being a family book, "His throat tight, his eyes full, he noticed her wedding ring near the pillow, where she always supported her cheek ....." The book has many attention grabbers. Here is one quote from the book, "Carpathia raised the.38, cocked it, and stuck the barrel into Stonagal's right ear." All of the book is based on a fictional thriller. A quote from the book is, "But after three and a half days, they will rise from the dead and ascend to heaven in acloud.........." Overall, the book is very good because it has attention grabbers, a good family book, and an overall fictional thriller.
