Summary: Scintillating!
Review: I haven't even finished this book yet, but I've read enough to know that it's wonderful! It grabbed me on the very first page and has yet to let me go. It doesn't come off as 'preachy' or 'doomsday'. It just tells a great story of how things may very well end up being! Scary, scary stuff! I would recommend this book to anyone!

Summary: A life-changing book
Review: This is the best book I have ever read. I couldn't be more serious--It explained the Bible to me in ways that no one else ever has or could and led me to become a TRUE Christian--finally! I was offended by the negative reviews I read about the series, though I suppose everyone's entitled to their own opinion. I can't see how anyone could honestly b/v after reading the series that it's untruthful or even poorly written. I feel sorry for the one's who b/v it's untrue--I'm afraid they will be "left behind" when the Rapture does come someday.

Summary: Yes, I loved it!
Review: Wow, some of these pompous reviews made me feel like an intellectual moron for loving this book! I am a college graduate; I read C.S. Lewis nonfiction, John MacArthur, J.I.Packer and Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Normally, I studiously avoid Christian fiction in general and the "doom-and-gloom/Armaggedon" genre in particular. But I heard a review on the radio of the new "Left Behind" movie, supposedly faithful to the book, and got curious. This was not sci-fi, this is present day. I cared about the characters. I loved reading about the process by which 2 adult thoughtful men came to surrender to Christ. In telling my pastor about the book, I confessed with gratitude to the authors, to a paradigm shift from thinking about "second-coming-ology" in sci-fi terms to being shaken about the impact of this event were it to happen in MY world, TODAY. I never spent any time reflecting on the terror and rationalizations of the "left-behinders" since I won't be one of them. Joni Earekson Tada's "Heaven" was good enough for me. This book changed my perspective and I hope, my life. Yes, I will read them all!

Summary: i like it, i like it
Review: I think these are good. I don't believe pre-trib rapture though. No man knows the day or hour. Better safe than sorry. These would be really good for the man in your life. The kids series is good also. They have a different story going at the same time .These will make you think about where you will go after your body is dead. Hey ! That's a big deal !

Summary: Only fun for Christians
Review: I picked up this book after hearing about it on NPR. I'm a fan of apotcolytic fiction. There's a definate dividing line in those who love the books. People who are strict Christian belivers like it because it's "Fiction" that confirms their view of the world. I tried reading it for the premise, "what would happen if the Rapture took away millions?"

But there's too much preaching and the characters and plotting are wooden and bad. First off there's never a really good description of exactly WHO has disappeared. There's a mention that it some people from other relgions? who also disappeared. But basically it was just "Christians" (and only from America?) The world goes on as normal apparentely, except we have these "Tom Clancy" style ploting that doesn't make sense. Russia attacking Israel. A one-world government, media, religion. We have "Buck" Williams, a nationally known journalist who happens to be a 30-year-old VIRGIN for no good reason. He's not religious at the beginning of the novel. But I guess "purity" is required for Tim LaHaye's characters.

The book's most interesting scene is in the last chapter, one confrontation that has nothing to do with preaching or the Bible. Had the rest of the novel been written that way (Similiar to how Stephan King handles Christinity in The Stand) the whole series would have been better.

I can't express my contempt for the novel's writing enough

Summary: Left Behind
Review: I have read the entire series to date, and coming from a person that absolutely hates to read, that just about says it all. I feel the writers have done a wonderful job of putting a real life scenario to the Rapture and Tribulation. Even as a christian these books have made me think about things that will happen during this time that I had never thought about before. I am also reading the kids series as my son reads them. In both series the characters are real, with true to life situations and problems. I strongly encourage everyone to take the time to read these wonderful books.

Summary: Deeply troubled
Review: And so it begins, the "Left Behind" series, the single most disturbing publishing phenomenon of the last decade. I sell books for a living, and when Lahaye's little project began, I chuckled as I skimmed the book, wondering who on earth this half-baked mix of Tom Clancy and Pat Robertson could really be sold to. Several years and half a dozen bestsellers later, I'm not laughing. Are people so desperate for a gaudy, sensationalistic fantasy saga that they'll swallow any amount of religious propaganda? Or is America really filled with this many fanatical bigots? The other day I sold one of these books to a clearly homosexual man, apparently eager to read it, and I just had to stare at him in wonder. Don't you know, I wanted to ask him, that these people HATE you? That they think you'll be condemned to eternal suffering? It just proves my Bookselling Motto: people will read anything, unless it's any good.

Summary: Could'nt put it down.....
Review: I have read a few other books dealing with the subject of the end times, and I must say that this is the best. Half way through the first, I went and purchased books two and three. If you have ever considered where you may be in your christian walk, whether it is consistent or not, these books will truly make you think about it, which I believe are the authors intent. Hats off to LaHaye and Jenkins, keep em' coming!

Summary: Addicting Novel
Review: I could not stop reading the first book. I started the series July 31, 2000 and now I am near the end of book six. When I finished the lst book, I thought...WOW...this could be an excellent movie. I recently found out...it's going to be one coming out on video this month and to the big screen Feb, 2001. I've ordered the video. I can't wait! I used these books as a program for my church ladies meeting last month, September. They are also becoming addicted readers. Although, it is fiction, the characters are so real you really would like to know them, and of course I compared scripture to the Bible. The authors helped to put things in layman's terms. I think the books are great. Our church is doing a Bible study and our preacher recommends reading the books. It can't hurt! I am glad to hear these books are hot. It is good to know they are getting attention from readers, whether positive or negative in comments. At least the MAIN point is getting across. After reading, who wants to be LEFT BEHIND!
