Review: ...but I guess that's because I'm already a die-hard believer in Christ who knew well in advance what this book was related to. Nevertheless, this book was incredibly moving and inspiring. I used to be big on Chrichton and Grisham, but once I read this book, I knew this was a beginning for me in addiction to Christian fiction and literature. I read this book so fast it hurt. I quickly went out and bought the rest of the books that were already released. And I'm almost already done all those too! These books are well written and one of the more accurate fictional depictions of the book of Revelations I've found yet. Whether you're looking for a good book to read, or are curious on what the Tribulation may/will bring, get this book.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Impossible To Put Down! Review: This book was so difficult for me to put aside. The characters are developed so well that you cannot wait to find out what happens next! LaHaye addresses the doubts and disbeliefs from those who remain on Earth after the rapture with a very realistic perspective. You cannot read this book and ignore the message!
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Remember it's fiction and enjoy! Review: These books don't contain the best writing you'll ever see. In the conversations between the book's characters, I often find myself unsure of who said what because of simple writing flaws and sometimes the characters are inexplicably pure and innocent in ways that make you roll your eyes. Many of the things that occur in this book, ( mostly the changes the Antichrist makes in world policy ) are very silly and far-fetched. And the preaching about homosexuality, obedience in marriage and the falacy of other religions can make you cringe. But other criticisms like poor character developemt and the untested faith of the central characters is soon fixed in the next few books. I have been made to laugh, had my eyes go wide, felt my heart quicken and been on the edge of my seat many times reading these books in the Left Behind series until the sun came up. These books hold more action and anticipation than the plots of 100 other books rolled into one. I'm always wondering what great tragedy will happen next and how they will survive. In a morbid way, I find myself looking forward to the locusts just to see how it will be described and I keep hoping the final book in the series will attempt to describe heaven. Of course, nobody knows for certain how exactly the events described in revelation will occur. But if this gets you to take out your bible and start talking to God again, the book is quite a bargain.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: It's interesting, but that's about it Review: Left Behind (and it's sequels) are interesting, but like many others, I have to admit that the quality of the writing makes me wince. Also, don't base your view of prophecy and the last days on these books. First of all, they're fictional. Secondly, they're completely biased. Check out scripture for yourself, and read as many differing opinions as you can. Do your own research; don't just take someone else's word for it.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: An Absolute Joke Review: This book is the most ridiculous piece of trash I have ever read. If you consider yourself a christian, do yourself a favor and leave this behind.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Best series ever! Review: I usually only read thrillers and science fiction, and truthfully that is the only reason I bought the book. I thought it was like the other books I read. When I realized it was based on religon I almost stopped reading right then, but I decided since I love to read I would give it a shot. I went out and bought the next 4 books the next week and I will continue with these books until they series finishes.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Mixed Review-Mostly positive Review: I am a Christian. I will say this without hesitation, and I do believe the Rapture to be a true event, yet to occur. No flames please, this is my genuine conviction. Some of you may or may not believe the way I do, that's your choice and your right. That said, I must review this book. It is a literary work, therefore you will find a literary review; not my beliefs, stated here. Spellbinding is a good word. As a reader who likes a good book, and someone whose read since early childhood, the suspense and drama here are excellent. I've read Revelation as part of my life, simply because I am a firm believer in Christ. I am not certain about the fictional characters being portrayed as I would have portrayed them. (I write in a different style than both LeHaye and Jenkins-a style more suited for children...). Some of these characters I'd have written differently. I doubt I'd have portrayed Chloe Steele the way they have, but we're different in styles and so that's the big thing. However, the portrayal of Carpathia seems right on, and in keeping with the book of Revelation's account of the Antichrist. It is a dead-on comparison. (Those who aren't believers...give it a shot. Read both books and see if they don't line up. If Carpathia were a real person, I dare say he would have everybody in the civilized world scared poopless. And I do mean *everyone*. That is one of the reasons I have to take "coffee breaks" during my reading. These books should carry a warning sign, "Readers will lose fingernails during the course of this book". Why do I say that? Suspense. Some of us have compared this to Clancy's books. I have another comparison for those who would slam Clancy's writing style. Pick up "Icon" by Frederick Forsythe. LeHaye and Jenkins read more like Forsythe than Clancy. (Again, my own opinion as shaped by the suspense novels I've read in the past). I like novels that leave me wondering, "what next?" These do. My one negative finding has me agreeing with those who are not Christians, so I do agree with some of my detractors. The point we agree on? Why stretch this over 12 or 13 books? Parts of these are extremely, almost painfully slow. I've skipped parts to get to the "action" sequences. I also agree that the reading level could have been bumped up from a 6th-grade level to maybe 9th. However, I see the point the authors would make here, they want the message of Revelation to get to as many people as possible, Believers and Non-Believers alike. My 4.5 stars stands firm.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Left Behind - Exciting starter Review: Left Behind is a book that made me sit-up and consider the world around me and the reality of the times we live in. It is a call to awake and save the lost. Left Behind challenges us to face the reality of leaving this world and progressing into heaven. Don't get caught left behind!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Great Book! Review: This series is one of my favorites! This book is a story of the Rapture: when Christ takes his people home, and how those left behind look for answers. The fast-paced style is not very descriptive or "wordy," but it is enough to keep you reading and reading and reading... This book was hard to put down. :-) I kept wanting to know what happens next! Also, it was pretty cool to see how the story fits in with books in the Bible like Revelation. I can't wait for the new one!
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: The series is addicting! Review: The reason this and all the other books were addicting is because the genre is interesting, and it was neat to see all of the prophesies come to life. Nicholae Carpathia is the best character! (He's the antichrist)
