Rating: Summary: The most intriguing book I have ever read. Review: You have got to read this book. Whether you believe in these things or not, it will make you think.
Rating: Summary: Very thought-provoking Review: If you haven't considered your spirituality yet, you may want to do so. The book gives a vivid view of the days to come and how mankind has become desensitized to things of the spiritual. I won't take God for granted again!
Rating: Summary: The best book I've ever read! Review: This book holds the high-quality of suspense and action as any other fiction book. One thing remains different, the integrity of the message and the exposure of the Gospel of Christ in a non-confrontational way. Any, non-believer could read this book and accept Jesus into there hearts without a shadow of a doubt, He is God and they need Him. This is the most phenomonal book I have ever read. The authors have made a proud declaration of their faith through the skills God has blessed them with.
Rating: Summary: The best book I have read since the Bible. Review: I think everyone should read this book even if you don't believe it will make you take asecond look at what you do believe and hopefully change your mind and save your soul I can't wait to read the next book and see the movie I just hope the movie does the book justice.
Rating: Summary: Motivating Review: This book was very motivating. It encouraged me to tell others about Jesus Christ our savior. I'm buying for everyone on my Christmas list this year in hopes they will not be left behind when our Christ comes home for his church.
Rating: Summary: Riveting and thought-provoking! Review: Left Behind is a riveting look at the prophecy of the earth's last days. I found it thought-provoking and difficult to put down.
Rating: Summary: This book is fiction in the worst sense of the word Review: Books such as this one are dangerous in that they promote the unbiblical lie that the rapture will take place before the completion of history rather than at the end of history itself. No matter how you try to twist it, a careful reading of 1 Thessalonians 4:16,17 clearly shows that the rapture will take place when "the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout" (NKJV) at the time of the second coming, NOT centuries before. The idea of a pre-tribulation rapture is a falsehood based on a jigsaw approach to Scripture and a mistaken interpretation of the book of Revelation and biblical prophesy. Revelation must be understood first of all in light of the first century context in which it was written. You must also realize that it, along with all biblical prophesy, is God's holy Word spoken to His people throughout the centuries, NOT just some collection of jigsaw pieces out of which we can piece together a map of future history. Revelation was NOT written solely for the entertainment of 20th century North American Christians who imagine they see it being fulfilled before their very eyes. For a better understanding of Revelation than what you will find promoted in "Left Behind" and other books of its kind, read the simple (but not simplistic) little book: "The Book of Revelation: A Cartoon Illustrated Commentary" by Vic Lockman. The fact that "Left Behind" and its sequels are so popular is a sad commentary on how so many North American Christians are deceived by the false doctrine of premillenial, pretribulation eschatology.
Rating: Summary: OUTSTANDING PICTURE OF THE COULD BE Review: Left behind leaves you breathless waiting for the next chapter in the lives of these people finding thier way in prophecy. If you never read another book on the senario that could prove true, you need to read this, and be ready.
Rating: Summary: Nothing has had such an impact on my life as this book has. Review: I work at a doctor's office part-time while finishing up my final year of college. I am a journalist and consider myself an intellectual. A patient came into the office one day and told me about this great book called Left Behind. I was immediatly infactuated with the storyline, though I know now that I could never have predicted the book's impact on me. I immediatly went out and bought the novel. I got through it in 36 hours. Two days later, I was working on the third book in the series--Nicholae. I have gone to church (Catholic) most of my life, but never paid attention--UNTIL NOW. I cried in mass last week, and have never felt so happy, scared, ashamed and anxious all at once. Left Behind, and the other books in the series have a non-fiction plot line based on the prophicies from the Bible. That is the part that drew me in--the fact that this WILL happen. The part that kept me reading was the characters. The development of the four to six characters that I have grown to love and care about keep me turning the pages. I am lost in another world--their world--when I am reading these books. I have told many people about this series and I have a waiting list oa about six people who are all taking turns passing around the books. If you are wondering why a novel that so changed my life did not receive 5 stars--it is a mute point. Sometime Nicolae's speeches ramble on to the point that I skip a paragraph or two. Skipping a few words here and there has not affected my understanding nor love for these books. If I could give 4 and one-half, I would.
Rating: Summary: An Eye Opener and Heart Opener Review: My brother pat read this book and told me about it. When I started to read it, oh man......what a book. I've read revelations before, however, never really did understand how things were going to happen...though it is just a book, scripture is referenced through a little of the sections, although, I think that more scripture should have been noted, it's something that is no problem because if you're serious, this book will kick you in the behind big time. There is a lot of thought that needs to be put behind the reading, don't just read the book. You've got to try and really understand what's going on with the characters and how their lives are turned around....would it apply to you? are you in the same boat as them? The funny thing about it, and no doubt you already no, people have dissappeared, is very scary....Ezekiel says, "in a twinkle of an eye..." when will that happen? No body knows, but, don't you think it could rather happen at any time? The other question is, when it does happen, will I and my wife Cindy be among those people that gets to be taken up to heaven with the rest of the Christians? All I know, is, people haven't dissappeared yet, that means, Christ hasn't come to take his Christians, but, I want to be ready when it does happen. I've got a wife and next year some kids will be on the way. Maybe this is a little hog wash, but, I'm not appologizing for what I'm writing to anybody....but, if you're not ready now, when will you be ready? When will you take the first steps in becoming ready? If you want to hang around for the 7-year tribulation period, that's up to you, but, it would be a lot less painful for you if you let Christ live through you. So, any way, I rate the book a 10 and finished it. I'm out the door to get Tribulation ... Tim
