I stayed up all night to finish it! Left Behind really made me think about where I was spiritually, which was a very good thing. Since reading it I have redidicated my life the only Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I recommned this book to everyone, it's extremely easy to read.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Very riveting and scary. Makes one think--HARD! Review: Never before have I read a fictional book based upon what most true Christians believe is propechy of things to come in the end times. As a Christian, who unfortunately forgets his role sometimes, I was very moved at times through the book. I caught myself crying at times, and spiritually affected on knowing what I truly believe what is coming. Am I worthy of God's plans? I pray that I am, because the all too real depictions of events to come is something I wouldn't wish on any human. This book only wants me to share Christ with others close to me and anyone who asks. This is not a book to put people down or to scare people into religion. I think the authors did a fine job of showing God's love and plan for us here on earth as shown by the main characters. These are conversations/questions that every person has at times through their life about spirtual matters. I eagerly await sitting down and reading the next ones. The only reason it did not earn 5 stars in my mind, is that after the Rapture, I can only imagine the earth's populace in much more despair and panic. Though the authors elude to tough times, its seems many people go about their day to day activities without really harboring on the fact that many of their loved ones and all the children of the world have dissapeared.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Life Changing Review: This book will challenge you to examine your own life
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Why all the hype? Review: All these five-star reviews makes this out to be the best book since the Bible. And sure, it was mildly interesting, but it wasn't THAT good. The characters were fairly cardboard, the theology was questionable, and the dialogue rather stilted. I fear that the church is starving for decent literature and instead is wasting its time on the literary equivalent of Twinkies. Or maybe Ding Dongs.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: ACTION PACKED THRILLER. Review: The first book in an action-packed series, Left Behind is a must read. My compliments are limitless about Left Behind, but I will try to limit myself while I am telling you about this insightful book. Tim Lahaye and Jerry B. Jenkins did a tremendous job combining both fiction and non-fiction. Rayford Steele is piloting a 747 when something strange begins to happen. People are disappearing and their clothes are left lying on their seats. The same thing is happening all over the world. Mother's pregnant stomachs whoosh flat as their unborn fetuses disappear, and driverless cars careen out of control. The people "left behind" have no idea what has happened. This strange incident will be later recognized by most as the "Rapture". Rayford goes home after landing his plane to find his son and religious wife gone. Their pajamas are left lying in their beds like their bodies had become invisible. Rayford recalls that his wife was always talking about the "end of the world". he realizes that this event was the Rapture when God comes down to Earth to take his church up to heaven. He immediately calls his wife's church to find out more about the Rapture. The phone was answered by the associate pastor who had not been taken. He offered a videotape that had been made in preparation for the "Rapture". Rayford watches the tape and immediately becomes a born-again Christian. Meanwhile, journalist Cameron Williams is working on a story of the world changing to three currencies. He was on Rayford's plane when the disappearances occurred but he didn't know what happened. He finishes it and quickly asks for another assignment. His boss tells him to check out the new Romanian president, Nicolae Carpathia. Carpathia is coming to address the United Nations about some issues he would like to present. People are mesmerized by Carpathia and soon he is promoted to Secretary-General in the U.N. Cameron Williams interviews Carpathia and finishes his article about him. Cameron then got a new assignment to collect different theories of the disappearances. Cameron meets with Rayford to get his theory of the disappearances and Rayford tells Cameron all his newfound knowledge of the Rapture. Cameron becomes interested in God and he meets with Rayford's pastor and becomes born-again. Meanwhile, Carpathia is performing more speaking magic and becoming very popular. He has unlimited power. Carpathia is holding a meeting where he has invited the new ambassadors to the U.N. to come and discuss the future. Carpathia invites Cameron to the meeting but Pastor Bruce advises against it. He says that Carpathia is one of the people the Bible warns about. Cameron goes to the meeting and it reveals the truth about Carpathia. I recommend this book because it tells you about the Bible and the Rapture. I predict Left Behind will soar to the top of the charts!! Read this book soon so you won't be LEFT BEHIND!!! --This text refers to the hardcover edition of this title
