Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Absolutely Wonderful Books! Review: I have read all of the books in the Left Behind series and feel they are great. Their ranking in the sales columns must ditto the feeling. Those who do not like them obviously do not like well written suspense stories that seem so real. This has increased my study of the book of Revelation and I feel the authors are right on target.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Exciting! Well written! Thought Provoking! Review: As a reader of mostly Christian books, I was skeptical to pick up a "fiction" book, based on the truth in the bible. I have no regrets! This is just what our society (world) needs to know now, because it may not be too far fetched. The end time is nothing to fear IF you are a TRUE Christian. The book demonstrates this well. The main characters' lives are a pretty accurate account of how most people do live their lives today, pushing God in the background of their focus. Doing that, YOU might be "left behind"! I can't wait to read the continuing story in "Tribulation Force".
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Breathtaking! The desire to follow Christ is overwhelming! Review: In LEFT BEHIND, readers clearly experience the anxiety and heartbreak of the family members when they realize their loved ones have been taken in the Rapture. The anguish they experience when they realize they were told the truth is gut-wrenching, but the readers heart will rejoice as they become dedicated to Christ and begin to spread the Gospel to others. Clearly explained, life after the Rapture is not a true life at all, only pure survival.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: This will probably not be the "best" novel you 've read. Review: However, for those of you who understand the premise of the book, I'll bet LEFT BEHIND will leave an impact on you second to no other novel you have ever read! I have purchased more than 20 copies in less than a month because I want everyone I love to read this book...NOW!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: If you read no other book, ever, READ THIS ONE!!!! Review: A friend told me about this book and said that I HAD to read it, so I went to the library and checked it out... I now own it and the next three (I'll buy the fifth when I finish the fourth). I tell everyone to read these books, especially those who are unsure of their relationship with God. After reading this book, I went to my church and walked proudly to the alter. This book doesn't replace the Bible at all, but by using the fictional characters and the easy reading style, I realized that I had some serious business to discuss with God regarding my salvation. If Mr. LaHaye & Mr. Jenkins are anywhere near the mark of the world's situation after the Rapture, I certainly want me and my loved ones to be witnessing it all from an "arial" view!
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Compelling plot makes up for weakness in style Review: Left Behind and its sequels flesh out the prophecies found in the book of Revelation. The last years of the earth before Christ's second coming are brought to life through the personal experiences of an assortment of people who decide to get serious about their religious faiths after realizing they have been "left behind" by friends and loved ones who disappeared from the mortal world on Day One of the end times. These books are not skillfully written. The authors describe without being descriptive; they create characters who seem stiff and contrived; much of the human interplay is simply too pat to grip the reader's interest. Yet, the sheer intensity of the unfolding events makes this book too good to miss. Its fidelity to Bible prophecy, in a 1990's setting, pushes disappointment in its literary quality aside and involves the reader in the narrative. This series is worth reading quite simply because it is important work.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A good read... Review: Definitely enjoyed it, don't ever want to be the ones "left behind." It isn't a perfect book (except for the Bible,) but it does interpret the end times in a more simplified, easy to understand way. Made me realized the important things in my life, and that it could happen any time, so I should be ready. If you wish to know more about the end days, or just interested, pick the book up, but remember it is only a fiction, find out the truth in the real source, and that is God's words.
Rating: ![0 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-0-0.gif) Summary: An update Review: This book has passed the two million mark in sales and sold more than 200,000 in August 1999 alone, four years since its release. All five sequels are over a million in sales with six more titles to come. We are overwhelmed, but more important are the many stories of affected lives. Thanks to fans and critics alike for caring, and for the word-of-mouth that keeps this going.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Poorly done. Review: In their LEFT BEHIND series, Lahaye and Jenkins try to make their readers feel better about the "end times." I'm sure that their books have turned many hearts toward Christ, but I find them to be very poorly done. The plot races along, leaving everything else in the book behind. The characters are undeveloped and are more like stock characters than real people. I've listened to intelligent people talk about these books--how terrific and "well written" they are. It makes me sad to think that these people, college-educated,professional people, can't tell the difference between good, polished writing, and a glossy-covered freshman English writing exercise.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Christian theology masquerading as a novel Review: When I bought the novel, I was hoping for an interesting twist on the old story, hoping that there would be inclusions of other cultures' mythologies. At the very least, some interesting perspectives (a native american's, a demon's, a dog's...). Wrong on both counts. This is just regurgitation of the apocolypse prophecied by the Christianity. What they call a plot is basically a thin covering - four characters, all completely monotonous and without personality, go through a "plot" that has no suspense or excitement at all.
