Rating: Summary: Great series! Review: I just finished the 3rd book of the Left Behind series, Nicolae, today. I am now very anxious to begin number 4, Soul Harvest. I am a Christian and these books have revealed so much knowledge in an easy to understand manner. I would like to encourage any reader to start this series. It's a must for EVERYONE.
Rating: Summary: Awesome series - Read the books Review: I absolutely loved all 6 books and am eagerly awaiting the next. I think Jerry and Tim did a great job putting together this fiction story with biblical truths. It was very difficult for me to put down any of the books and I'm sure it will be the same for the next until the series is finished.(that is if the rapture doesn't happen before the story ends :) ) I recommend this to everyone. There is even a kids series which my kids and I have all read. Don't be left out or "Left Behind", read these books and then back them up with the Bible.
Rating: Summary: Really great, fact or fiction! Review: This book is a fictional account of the Rapture. In the bible it says basically that God will take all good Christians up to heaven and leave the sinners behind. This is the basis of a plot for this book. The storyline jumps back and forth between four essential characters: Ray, a pilot who has lost everyone in his family except for his daughter; Chloe, his daughter; Buck, a reporter; and Bruce, who takes over the church that Rays wife attended, after almost everyone in the church vanished. The story begins while Ray is flying his plane, and about 100 of his passengers and crew disapear into thin air, leaving their clothing and jewelry behind. He finds out this is happening all over the world, with no explanation. He finds his wife and young son gone when he arrives home. His daughter is the only one he has left. Then the story jumps to Buck, who starts to investigate all the incidences. A little mystery and intrigue is intermixed to keep the story line interesting. All in all, its a good book. If nothing else, read it as fictional, and enjoy the plot and storyline.
Rating: Summary: What a bore!Chick book? Review: I love this genre & the series has some entertainment value but I really had to trod through this first one. Can you say boring?
Rating: Summary: A holy purpose as an excuse for mediocre. Review: I found the message of this novel, or should I say this message disquised as a novel, compelling enough to get me to the end of this book. But look out, this is poorly written stuff. Characters, plot, story integrity, it's all pretty bad. At worst you feel cheated and wonder how this lack of respect for the reader should reflect on the sincerity and veracity of the material. All in all, I read it, considered it, and wished I'd borrowed it.
Rating: Summary: Left Behind - Excellent Review: Left Behind and the books to follow are an outstanding source for understanding things from Revelation that will happen during the Tribulaton Period. If you are not a born-again Christian, you should read this book. The book is called fiction because of the characters. However, the events that take place are not fiction. The wise reader will distinguish between fact and fiction."For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night." (1 Th 5:2 KJV) Don't be Left Behind, read this book!
Rating: Summary: Left Behind, #1 Review: I am usually not much of a reader, in fact, I don't enjoy reading. But I have gotten hooked on this series, and I find myself fascinated and eager to begin each book. I am hoping that there will be more books, and I would like to see Movies for each of the books!
Rating: Summary: Compelling, well-written, you won't put it down! Review: This is one of the most incredible books I have ever read! The intertwining of the parallel story lines and the pace of the plot development leave you anxious to turn the page. I simply could not put this book down, read it cover to cover in 3 hours. It will make you view your life in an entirely different manner. It will also move you to think of others in your life...perhaps in life-changing ways you never expected.
Rating: Summary: Hard to put down, but not the be all, end all Review: I am actually about 3/4 of the way through the first book. A Christian friend at work loaned it to me to read. I have found it very difficult to put down, but I also agree that the characters are weak and the storyline jumps about too much. I am not a Christian myself, and this book has not compelled me to rush out and "find Christ". I find it an entertaining, easy-to-read work of fiction about the end of the world. I'm glad I'm borrowing the books in the series from a friend, though. I wouldn't spend my own money on them.
Rating: Summary: Readers Left Behind on Left Behind Review: I really wanted to like this book. I thought the subject matter sounded interesting. Unfortunately I found the book lacking in just about everything, including good writing. On the one hand there are descriptions of how, with the disappearances of millions of people, there is social chaos with looting and blocked traffic. On the other hand a character is flying all over the world with no problem. It seems as if the two authors wrote their own sections and never successfully integrated them into a coherent story. I found getting through the book to be an unhappy experience and I wiil avoid any further books from either of these gemtlemen. Left Behind? Leave it behind!
