Rating: Summary: This book WILL stand the test of time... Review: I watched a movie called Thief In The Night back in 1978. In this low budget rendition of the end times, two-dimensional characters reacted to the disappearance of mankind, the upcoming beast, and other Biblical prophecies. The special effects were not the main idea -- the idea was to show the world what life would be like when the church goes to be with Christ, and all hell breaks loose. This story, though, will never seem second rate. Lahaye and Jenkins really did their homework, and came up with a stunning tale of how the End Times could be ushered in, without the masses questioning who is doing the work. You've given flesh and blood to a truly chilling story, and the quality of your writing is second only to the Author (and Finisher) of our faith. All I can say is, Bravo, gentlemen! I've devoured this and The Tribulation Force, and I will soon dine on the others as well. God bless you both for putting together not only a great read, but a survival kit for the people who will be Left Behind.
Rating: Summary: An Amazing Book Review: I am almost finished with the first book in this series and just bought the second and third. I was hooked the second i started reading. Its a book that is interesting and exciting, but it also makes you think about God and what would happen if the Rapture were to actually happen during our lifrtimes. It opened my eyes up to things I hadn't thought about before. A definite must-read for anybody!
Rating: Summary: Anxiously Awaiting the Seventh Book Review: I now own and have read the first six books of this series and am anxiously awaiting the seventh. Both my husband and I could not put the books down until we hit the last page. This is an excellent series about how things might be before Christ Jesus returns for a final time. Although I don't claim to understand all the intricate ways of the LORD or assume that I have a complete knowledge about the end times, I do know that He is returning for His own...but when and who will go to be with Him. That is the question that this whole series provokes. Will you be with the LORD or will you be left behind? The first book "Left Behind" started a journey into self-examination concerning my relationship to my LORD, and I am a Christian! What about those who are not? I believe that the authors have made their point very clear...get right in your relationship with Jesus or you will spend eternity in hell. Each book gives a clear salvation message, the way to eternal life, the reason for writing this series in the first place. Although this is not a literary masterpiece, I believe the authors' intention was that the Gospel message be crystal clear to ANYONE who would divinely find this book in their hands. The book is exciting, fast-paced, easy to read for anyone, and leaves room for your imagination to "feel" what is happening. A must read for anyone! Especially those who want to know how and why to come into a relationship with the LORD Jesus Christ!
Rating: Summary: Intriguing Premise but Shoddily Assembled Review: The premise of the end of times/rapture/antiChrist isirresistible but these guys come real close to totally botching it.Stilted dialogue and paper-thin characters abound, plus a storyline so ridiculous it almost sabatoges the whole book (these few characters are the only ones that seem to know what's going on? No one else considers that maybe this Carpathia is the antiChrist?). The motivations and behavior of the characters are sometimes unintentionally hilarious, especially those of this Hattie character who has nothing better to do but continue to call some reporter she met briefly on the airplane!
Rating: Summary: I Felt God Tugging at My Soul Review: I have read books more terrifying, and I have read books more touching, but I have never had the two combined with such plausibility. The authors' grip on the book of Revelation was simply awe inspiring. The characters were believeable -- indeed as a scientist I could fully sympathize with the "ivy league intellectual" mentality of the three main characters that kept them from realizing the truth before they were "left behind." Their arguements had been mine for many years! I found myself more terrified of Carpathia than I ever was of the worst Steven King villian or monster. I read the book in a little over 24 hours and have started on the second. My only hope is that I don't have to wait too long before #7 comes out as I will be there in a week or two at the most. I simply haven't been this entranced by a book in a long, long time.
Rating: Summary: Good intentions, but bad writing Review: I bought the audio version of this book in the hopes of having another tool for evangelism. Although I had very much wanted this book to be good, I must admit that it is not good literature. I do not recommend it to be used for evangelism. However, if you would like some help in imagining what will happen as Bible prophecies are fulfilled, you may find this useful. I recommend the 2-tape abridged audio version so you can get through this book quicker. It is not worth spending hours to read.
Rating: Summary: IT'S AWESOME BABY! Review: This book was fantastic! The storyline is great & it is written very well! I love the ending with the Carpathia murders (or should I say suicide)! Also, their descrption of the Russian Air Force onslaught is great. Best of all, this book has a Christian theme & can help us in our Christian walk! I'm reading Tribulation Force now & so far, it is also great!
Rating: Summary: will i be left behind in my review? Review: i got this book for a friend for christmas who has wanted it for about 2 months. before i wrapped it up, i read a few pages in and thought that i'd have to ask her if i could borrow it when she was finished. seemed interesting enough. the following day at work, a co-worker came in with the very book in hand and was almost finished with it. it is now being passed around the office, and my turn has finally come up. there is a very good story in this book, but i dont believe these two authors have captured it. i dont think the writing itself is of quality. reads like one of my daughters books in that, ie; ...buck said, ...steve said,...buck said, so on and so on and so on. i dont believe enough time and thought went into not only the detailed areas of the book, but the basics as well. i know that if i were on a plane and a few dozen of the people disappeared....land safely on the ground only to discover that its happened everywhere and to thousands upon thousands, the *last* thing i'd be thinking about going to the office, or signing up for classes. the book however did hold my attention if not only to find out how this one would end as a clue to what the next one will hold. i may read it....i may not...depends on if my co-worker brings the next one in when shes done. one thing for sure, i wouldnt spend my money on it...::smile
Rating: Summary: Great for Anyone! Review: I have read this book. It is great. You don't have to be a person who goes to church or something like that, all you have to know is how to read. One you start reading you will find it is a great series. Be sure to get 'um at Amazon.com they got 'um the cheapest I have found on the net.
Rating: Summary: Don't be.......left behind! Review: Believing in the rapture or not believing in the rapture of the church should not detere anyone from reading this book or any of the others in the series. A gripping and thought provoking novel allows all of us to think......could this happen. Any author that can make you finish a book before you put it down is a genious, and these authors are just that. Read this one for sure, but read it first......food for thought. Don't be left behind!
