Rating: Summary: Wow. Review: I first read this book when I was 10. I read it again when I was 12. And again at 14. Each time, I found something to marvel about. It's simply magic for growing kids, and beautifully simple for adults.I loved them all, but here are my personal favorites: 1. ROSES BY MOONLIGHT - With a bit of the "Prodigal Son" thrown in, an older sister has the chance to see how the choices she makes affect her future. 2. EARTHWITCH - Somehow, even the fewest words can reveal the truth of the world. 3. STRONGER THAN TIME - A bittersweet twist to Sleeping Beauty. 4. CRUEL SISTERS - Sibling rivalry at its worst. Tragic and woeful. 5. UTENSILE STRENGTH - Simply hilarious. Makes for light reading.
Rating: Summary: Funny, serious, spooky, they're all great! Review: I have read all the Enchanted Forest chronicles, and I was hoping for more of those stories when I read this. I was not disappointed, this book includes two EF stories. They add a touch of humor, especially the Frying Pan of Doom!. They offset the more serious ones very nicely, like the story about the good and evil swords--Whatsitcalled, Earthwitch, and Roses by Moonlight (doesn't the rose-lady in there remind you of Morwen from EF?) Then, some of the stories in there are, to all practical purposes, just plain spooky, like the story about the enchanted keep and the ghost-prince, Forgotwhatitscalled, and Cruel Sisters. There are also some lighthearted ones that aren't set in EF, like the 62 curses of Caliph Something, and the Rikikki story. That blue chipmunk is just SO CUTE!
Rating: Summary: Loved It Review: I just loved this book. Although there were a few stories that I had difficulty keeping my attention on most of them were wonderful reads. My favorite was definitely The Frying Pan of Doom which is a stand-alone in the Talking to Dragons series. The After Battle Triple Chocolate Cake really is very good.
Rating: Summary: A Good, But Not Quite Outstanding Anthology Review: I love all of Ms. Wrede's work, funny or more serious, and this is a great variety of fantasy stories by one of my favorite authors, Patricia C. Wrede. Here are the summaries of my more favorite stories from the anthology: Utensile Strength: How can you not like a story about Queen Cimorene, King Mendanbar, and Daystar? (the Frying Pan of Doom is only an extra great bonus). Roses By Moonlight: Choose one rose, any rose. This story was slightly chilling, even though its purpose was not to be a chilling tale (at least I don't think so). The rose woman was just kind of creepily mysterious if you know what I mean. Makes you wonder about fate and what yours is and if you have a choice about it. The One-thousand Curses of Caliph Something-rather: All I really remember about this story is that it was good and had a satisfying twist. Cruel Sisters: Probably tied for first place with Utensile Strength. Even though this tale isn't particulary happy it's very, very good. Sometimes sibling rivlary can go too far and in this case, it went as far as it could have possibly gone. The ending does leave you wondering: did the harp sing the truth? I gave this book four stars because it was good but it wasn't quite outstanding.
Rating: Summary: A Collection of Stories for Everyone Review: I love story collections. They always bring out the best in an author. You can read some of Patricia C. Wrede's light and humorous works, including a visit to the Enchanted Forest. The collection also includes the deeply moving "Cruel Sisters" and "Roses by Moonlight". Any fan of the Enchanted Forest Chronicals or similar genre will be pleased with this.
Rating: Summary: Magic and Mystery Review: I loved it! Patricia C. Wrede is one of my favorite authors. I was hoping there would be more on the Enchanted Forest Chronicals...but o well. My favorite story was called The Pincess, the Cat, and the Unicorn. This short story shows you that not all princess's have to be beautiful or vain to go on adventures. In the kingdom of Oslett, there are three princesses. The middle aged one is Princess Elyssa and unlike her sisters, she has mouse brown hair and brown eyee, and a 'determained' chin, not silky black hair or shiny gold hair....This story is a good one for cat and unicorn lovers like me! I liked a lot of the other stories too. You have to get this! ;)
Rating: Summary: Wonderful collection of stories by Wrede!! Review: I loved this book! The stories are all really good. If you want to read some of Wrede's writing this is an excellent example of what she can do! Some of the stories aren't quite as good as others, but it is a book worth reading just the same. One of thae many reasons that this is a good book is that it has a bunch of different stories. They are all good and are all nicely concluded. I really recommend this book to everyone.

Rating: Summary: Love her, love her, love her. Review: I really love Wrede's Young Adult Books. I've just ordered one of her adult novels and I hope I enjoy it as well. If you liked her Young Adult books, and dragon books, then you MUST get this! The short stories are interesting and great. And it's nice to see another story about Cimmorine, and the gang.
Rating: Summary: A Very Unique and Interesting Book! A good Read :) Review: I thought this was a great book! I picked it up from my teacher because we were to review the books and write what we thought of them. What stood out in my mind about this book was the variety that it had. The different time periods, the details, and the comedy/tragity idea it brought. I mean depending on your mood you could pick up on a chapter that was the way you were feeling. You could also really relate to the characters because they had some of the same emotions that you had during a part of the book. I really enjoyed this book and I think that it would apeal to a vast spand of readers, so look it up. Sealminer =)
