Summary: Wonderful...
Review: This book is so great for so many reasons... The high point for me was Tuvoks story because he is my favorit of all times... I like B`Elanna very much to and therefore enjoyed her story as well. But let me just throw something out there... Both in the book and the show B'Elanna says that she did everything to hide her forehead when she was little... HELLO, ever heard of bangs??? That could do the job... Of well, anyway... This is a really good book, one of my favorit scenes is the cliff scene in the end. What a leap of confidence and loyalty. Those of you who read the book know what I mean. Those who haven't, what are you wating for, read it...

Summary: Great, wonderful, and..... SHIPPY
Review: Wow! I loved the book! The high points for me were Kes's story (the best charecter ever to inhabit a star trek series) and the shipper moments between Janeway and Chakotay (they ARE in love no matter what a certain no-shipper exec says).

Summary: Too bad it's unofficial
Review: Since this was written by one of VOYAGER's cocreators, and since some material from MOSAIC actually appeared in a few episodes, I expected this to be the authoritative collection of backstories for each of the characters. Unfortunately it isn't; there were a slew of contradictions between what was presented here and what was deemed "official" by what was dropped here and there in episodes, and that's why it lost a star. The book says Harry's Academy roommate was George Mathers, but the episode "The Cloud" says it was James MacAllister. Torres' mother's name is Prabsa here, but was revealed to be Miral in "Barge of the Dead." There's no mention of Paris' desire to join the Federation Naval Patrol instead of Starfleet as he explained in "Thirty Days." However, it did give some interesting looks into possible backstories for them, such as Chakotay and Harry having the same officer shepherd them during their respective plebe summers at Starfleet Academy, Neelix's drug addiction, Tuvok's original plan to be a priest, and Paris being in the same Maquis cell as Chakotay and Torres.

Summary: Very Good
Review: If you are a fan of the show and would like to add to the experience, I highly recommend this book. The story line is gripping, and allows you to experience some of the training that a cadet goes through enabling them to endure the brutality that they are faced with. By experiencing the history of several of the characters you will be afforded the opportunity to enjoy the show on a completey new level. Just wonderful stuff.

Summary: Voyager Fans, This Is The One.....
Review: This is the best Voyager book that you could own! This book started really fast, with the senoir officers (except Janeway, who was taking Voyager to talk to some aliens) being sent down to an uninhabited planet to collect food, and just get away from the ship. Voyager was going to come pick them up later. Anyway, when they first stepped out of their shuttles' the air seemed to be poisoned and everyone fell into unconsciosness. Yes, even Tuvok. Then the aliens (The planet was inhabited after all) took them to a prisoner-war camp, where they slowly were starving to death. At night they decided to tell their life stories. **************************************** Chakotay: His story began at the years of his late childhood, when he was fifteen. He disagreed with his father and tribe traditions, so he decided to go to Starfleet Academy. After the first year he decided that that was not what he wanted to do. So he went home and told his parents this. Everyone in the tribe was excited and they a feast, and his mom tried to get him hooked up with a girl named Philicia, but obviously that didn't work. So then he went back to Starfleet and graduated (after three years, of course). Then when his home planet in the demiliterazation zone was destroyed he joined the Maquis and the rest is history. ************************* Harry went next, He told how he was not accepted into Starfleet Academy the first time but then he tried again and was not accepted. (For more interesting information, Boothby told Harry that "Johnny Picard" hadn't made it in to the Academy the first time either.) Then Harry told about how one instructor had given him no end of pain, and how he fell in love with Libby Latimore, who was his fiance before he left, (I hope she still is.) And that about sums up Mr. Harry Kim. ************************************ B'Elanna then told her story. She told about how all the children had whispered about her when she was younger and how when she was a teenager she had made a frien by flipping him onto his back. She dropped out of Starfleet Academy after about three or four months. Then she told about how she had come to join the Maquis and how she had been infatuated with Chakotay, practically smitten. And then she met Tom, and hated his guts, and the they got lost and you know what happens.**************************** Tom Paris, the High and Mighty Helmsman: His story was about how he'd had a lot of disagreements with Admiral Paris (His daddy) and about the situation with his three firends. If you've seen Caretaker and are confused about what it is that Tom did, that was so bad, you know, in detail? This book explains it great. Although it's sad. Then about how he'd met with Chakotay and joined the Maquis but then when sent on a missin had to abort, and leave Chakotay and company wondering where he'd gone. Then he turner himself in, about what happened with his 3 friends and then when the noble, courageous Kathryn Janeway saved him from that evil place.********************************* Then Neelix, our great Talaxian with a lisp: His story was about his life on Talaxia, how he'd wanted his spots, so that the girl next door would notice him. About how he became a trader and took awful drugs. (You're probably thinking "Who, Neelix?") Then about he saved his wonderful Kes and how he joined Voyager. You know the rest.******************************* Seven of Nine, the Borg Ice Queen (Kind of sounds like Ice cream, doesn't it?) Anyway her story only took up two paragraphs, and since I'm going through all this trouble to tell you what happens you have to buy the book yourself to read about Ice Queen, (don't get me wrong... I love Seven.) ****************************** "Don't ask me, I'm only two years old." Who else? Kes. Her story is told from Neelix dream, well something like that. ********************************** Tuvok, the coolest Vulcan around: You have to read this one for yourself, because it's the best!***************** AND THAT ENDS THE STORIES. OH AND YES, THEY DO GET OFF THE EVIL PLANET.

Summary: Great book
Review: I'm reading this book right now and I'm almost done I think that I have 4 chapters left to read. I liked that the author let us know the back stories of the characters we know and love. Jeri Taylor did a great job.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great backgrounds established for each Voyager character
Review: I haven't read Mosaic, which is this book's predecessor, but after reading this book, I want to. This book has well established backgrounds for each main character on Voyager. My personal favorite is Paris' and Tuvok's. Jeri Taylor has a very well written book on her hands.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Not nearly as pick-up and readable as Mosaic
Review: After reading Mosaic, I was desperate for more Jeri Taylor. I had to wait for Pathways to be published and launched into it straight away. It may be that starting off with Chakotay was not a good idea, because it turned me off the book. I took it on holidays to force myself into reading the rest of it and I found that you can quite easily just pick out the bits you want to read and read them. You don't have to read the book in any kind of linear order and that is good. Overall though, I think it fails to deliver on the back of Mosaic. It is just not in depth enough. Nice try but no cigar. Jeri Taylor can do better!

Summary: An Excellent Read for Trek Fans.
Review: In Pathways, The crew of the USS Voyager, with the exception of Captain Janeway, who left them on a planet for Shore leave then probably proceeded with a 'Skeleton' (Minimal Crew) on a planet where the crew is captured and taken prisoner. During the crews time in the alien prison, they begin to open up to each other, and therefor, tell their lives story. I usually am not to fond of Trek novels on the 3rd or 4th read but I always keep reading this off and on, I REALLY enjoyed Lieutenant Tom Paris' background because it gave me new insight to the character, and I now strongly believe he's the one of the best character on the show for all he's been through, it also gave good ideas into the background of Lt. Cmdr. Tuvok's Early life and why he decided to leave Starfleet after his tour of duty onboard the USS Excelsior, Commander Chakotay's decision to leave Starfleet and join the Maquis after defying his father, going through Starfleet Academy, Serving in Starfleet and fighting in the Cardassian War, It Also tells Ensign Harry Kim's decision to Join Starfleet and tells you how he spent his time while in the Academy, and met his fiancee, Libby. And to the people that say its inconstant with the series, watch the earlier episodes, and you'll agree, this is an accurate background and biography of the Voyager crew and is DEFINITELY canon style book, except for the prison, I don't really believe Capt. Janeway would leave her entire crew on a planet for shoreleave, then go off on a diplomatic mission, that's what reduced this readers review to 4, If you love Voyager, or hate the show but do like the characters like I do, Its one hell of a read and is highly recommended
