Summary: Waiting in Delicious Agony for Book 5!
Review: This whole series is packed with fierce emotional turmoil and disturbing philosophical observations, a true achievement in a setting of such fascinating violence. I will now read it again for the fifth (sixth?) time in the superstitious hope that this will cause book 5 to appear!

Review: total kudos !!!what can I say the man just get's better and better!........BUT will i live long enough to get to read book five?. have been waiting over half a decade! love the writing terse yet highly evocative, very detailed and a high level of craftmanship. but will he finish it!!? at this rate he would have to live to be 100! .......waiting for five(is he still alive?)

Summary: A matter for Men
Review: Well i have to say that this series is one of the best I have read. I remember buying the first book in the series back around 1991 and couldnt wait to read the next and next, then to my horror i had to wait a few months for this book to come out and finished it that same day. It has been 8 1/2 years since this book came out and i just read the series again (i cant stop myself), I just wanted people to know that there are people like me out there waiting over 8 years for his next book in the series. The reason I also decided to post this was to make sure he was still alive, and to let him know that to keep his fan base he really needs to finish the series or at least put the next book out. I really really hope you read this david in the hopes that you will stop writing these other books and let us find out what happens to McCarthy and Lizard. Besides that point the best all round book i have read for sci-fi

Summary: Epics & such
Review: Well, I read the three first books of 'the war', and definitely I found it very entertaining and engaging. However, I should have known better... The last time I felt that way was with Stephen Donaldson and OSC, however after reading the trilogies and ender's stuff, I found that the next stage (that was the Gap and for OSC homecoming) the stories had run dry and creativity was lacking. And now Gerrold, great author, but as everybody else falling into the trap of producing these endless series, trapping the readers. I won't buy a S for S, because what I read here just confirms what I felt with SD & OSC. Oh well, Ursula K le Guinn is still the greatest. Cheers-p

Summary: The greatest sci-fi epic in the history of literature.
Review: What more can be said about this series. It is the best sci fi series ever, and this is (so far) the best book. What, I believe, is so compelling about this series, are the obvious frailties of McCarthy. I mean, the dude has screwed up just about any way you can! He's been accused of pedophilia and all manner of horrific things. You almost hate him... But he's so damn good! He seems to be developing into the linchpin for unraveling this whole infestation thing. After all, we still don't know where the Chtorr actually come from and how they're getting to earth. Book 4 takes us one step closer. But we're looking at an 8 book series, according to the author. It's like waiting for the next book in that Dark Tower thing by King...

Review: What more can be said, the other reviewers cover it all, this is simply the best most original Sci Fi series available. But also the most frustrating. Please put us out of our misery David finish the next volume !! PS Please don`t start another I don`t want to go through this again.

Review: What more can I say? This is the most intricate and detailed, not to mention grandest, epic I have ever read! The character rolls portrayed by Mr. Gerrold is simply astonishing! Just wish they would reprint all 4 books again (and hopefully the 5th book will come out soon) so we I can buy them again since I've read it so many times its worn out! MUST READ!
