Rating: Summary: A Fresh Look at Medieval Fantasy Review: I'm an avid reader of Fantasy and Science Fiction and have been since the 1940's. FWF's book about an imaginary world with knights, princesses and blacksmiths is one of the best I've ever read. Some reviewers found it to be a "page turner", but I found it forcing me to go more slowly, to savor phrases, mottos and words of guidance useful in any age. I'm also an engineer and FWF's description of blacksmithing was a real joy to explore, clearly based on his mastery of the craft. As another reviewer said, this book is good for any age from early middle school (possibly earlier for precocious readers) to "mature" (like me!). Do yourself a favor and get this book for many hours of enjoyment.
Rating: Summary: Transcending spiritual stereotypes Review: In crafting a spiritual book without a stereotypical spiritual "language," F.W. Faller has handled a sensitive area of our lives with a gentle strength that inspires as well as entertains. From the strong "hook" of the opening chapter to the resolution and further anticipation in the last, it kept me coming back for more. It is easy to read, yet extremely inspiring.

The characters and their environment, in spite of being "other-wordly," are easily identified with and relatable.
Rating: Summary: A Great Read for Any Age Review: It is not often that I take the time to read fiction, but on the recommendation of friends, I picked up A Sword for the Immerland King. I have since bought several other copies as gifts. What I liked about the book is that it talked about good and evil--not as opposite ends of a pole, but as complexities that face the characters in their everyday life. The characters must question the principles that they have grown up with. We are given a sense that right and wrong are not always so black and white. What is seen as right now may be, in hindsight, a mistake. The book has depth and insight into human nature and helps me to understand more about personal character. I found myself in shoes of the cast of the story asking "what would I do in this situation." This book reminded me in a way of Dune, one of the only other science fiction books I ever really liked. I learned a great deal about myself and thought deeply about spiritual issues that I had never fully probed. The Sword for the Immerland King is suitable for kids, but its messages are deep enough for adults as well. It grapples with good and evil without being preachy.
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: One of the best books I've read in a long time. Fred makes the charactors come to life in his first work of fiction. Can't wait for book two.
Rating: Summary: Can't wait for the next book to come out. Review: The book is very enteraining and is able to hold the reader's interest. Great imagery throughout the book. My mind could picture exactly what the author was describing. The battle between good and evil was being waged but you didn't always know what side the characters were on. The author displays a great imagination. I highly recommend this book and hope there is a "next in a series".
Rating: Summary: Take an Adventure -- and bring your family! Review: The Sword of the Immerland King captivated me with a story in the epic proportion of the Lord of the Rings. With exquisite imagery and just the right balance of suspense and imagination, the author succeeds in creating a book that you never want to put down. Personally, although I read dozens of books a year, I'm not an avid fiction reader. But since I knew this author, I thought I would give it a try. I was not disappointed. I finished it in less than a week and now I'm reading it to my two boys (8 and 6) who only complain when I stop reading to them! Fantastic job! I am hungry for the second volume.

Rating: Summary: My imagination took off! Review: This book captured my imagination, it's not often a book can do that for me. I found myself completely enthralled with each character. The words created by the author gave fresh meaning to words I take for granted, taking me to a new depth in my understanding of them. I did not want this book to end! It is a great piece of work that can be read at many levels. I can't wait for the next one to come out!
Rating: Summary: A Wonderful Find Review: This book was an excellent read. The plot was interesting, the characters believable, and the new world to explore fascinating. Excellent detail shows years of research and experience in the field of blacksmithing, and the book is a refreshing change to the dime-a-dozen novels written with unreal characters and regurgetated plots. An A+.
