The Vampire Armand

Summary: Another of Anne Rice's vampires tells his tale.
Review: Journey with Armond from his capture from his Russian homeland to be sold into slavery in Rennaissance era Italy. Share the trauma of being thrown into a dark prison at a very young age. Discover a savior in the form of a vampire. Find the lap of luxury in the house of his benefactor. Experience the change from human to undead. Travel into the present with Armond. This is a very good book. I feel that I may have hurt the story some by reading this as my first in the series, with the exception of seeing the movie "Interview With A Vampire." I highly recommend the book, but you may consider reading some of the others in the series that tend to build somewhat of a foundation for this story to rest on.

Review: By far, I think this is once of Anne Rice's best stories yet! It barred every secret of Armand and finished off where Memnoch left off. To heck with anyone who say different, you are not a die hard Anne Rice fan! In this book (my opinion) you can see the devotion she has put into it! It is truly a wonderful and beautiful book.

Summary: Barbara Cartland would be embarrassed!
Review: Go straight to Chapter 8. Chapters 1 throuh 7 were pure trash. Pedophelia may be part of the world, and it may have been an integral part of the development of Armand's character, but this is pathetic. I thought Violin put an end to Anne Rice's self-indulgence, but the first seven chapters read like a 13 year old boy's wet dream! The relationship between Armand and Marius is without depth, dimension and eroticism. At its best, it is petulant. The remainder of the story is interesting, but not up to the hype.

Review: Ive loved all of Anne Rices novels, the vampire chronicles especially, reading The Vampire Armand was a joy to me because Armand is my favorite character. Hes dark and mysterious and its great i finally find out what hes like.

Review: Ive read everyone one of Anne Rices novels and in each one, she always amazes me! I never get bored from her books. Armand is my favorite character so i was thrilled to read more about him. Anne Rice has written this book wonderfully and im sure to read this book more than once.

Review: After months and months of anticipation, Anne Rice finally released her latest installment of the Vampire Chronicles. Much to my dismay, The Vampire Armand, is a huge disappointment. I thought that Ms. Rice had recaptured the aura and mystique in Pandora, but I guess that she lacked the passion that poured forth in her previous efforts. I am a great fan of the Vampire novels; however, my disgust at having purchased this book has scarred me to the pits of my soul. What this book is lacking is everything. She rehashes earlier books and Armand's history is quite boring. Lost are the amazing insightful views of the old world as well as an interesting character. I have to admit that Ms. Rice may do better to leave the Vampires alone for awhile until she gets greater inspiration. I hope that Marius' story is better. All in all this is a boring read. She tries too much, but her effort is to be commended. Ms. Rice, I beg of you to give the readers more of the passion and detail that we love. Turn the dark trick on us once again.

Summary: I just don't understand.
Review: What has happened to my queen? With the frist three Chronicles I was in complete awe of her storytelling talent, but in her last three novels she seems to ramble on and has trouble creating and sticking to a plot. I just hope she regains her wits and focuses more on publishing quality work rather than qauntity.

Review: When Anne Rice wrote "Interview with the Vampire" she was at the top of the slide. She has now just about hit bottom and is approaching the sand. Slow start, slow middle, and pointless end. I will buy one more AR book from this series. If reading it is like staring into the sun with a telescope I am through with her. Let her author Christmas cards...
