Summary: What is instore....
Review: These Vampires, especially Lestat, have experienced everything they can. They have believed in god and seen the devil, Lestat was even human again. In Armand you see why he is the vampire he is. His life as a human was centered around religion and although he may be 500 years old, he is a BOY, for eternity, much like cluadia. I do feel that this book lead to an ever present question of will Lestat be back. I think that the music played by Sybelle has awakened Lestat much like he once did for the Queen of the Damned. This book was a wonderful filler of things missed or misunderstood in the previous books. It also stood very well on its own and could be enjoyable to someone who has not read the previous books.

Summary: Easy read with one exception
Review: Once again Ann Rice writing takes you on the vampire journey as if you where right there. The only issue I have with this book is that in the past she only hinted to the vampires sexuality. In "Armand" there are several sections of explicit homosexual activity. Between the older Vampire and the young Armand. This was a huge step, I believe in the wrong direction, for the Vampire Chronicles to go.

Review: I found the book to be well written and it helped fill in the gaps left open in the other books of the series. I felt it made Armand a more humane character and helped shine a light on things that happened in the series.

Summary: Armand seems very dull at times.
Review: I did enjoy the book but i did not fall in love with Armand like i did with LeStat and Louis. All alone, i found him lifeless at times & boring. The main thing that kept me going through the book was the ? of what was wrong with LeStat (i couldn't remember what had happened to him) and what the outcome would be. Armand is a interesting vampire, but he needs to be a bit more mature. I got the impression that he was still a teenager even after all those years. Lost & wondering what to do.

Summary: An eagerly awaited book that does not live up to expectation
Review: The Vampire Armand offers a look at one of the most important and constant characters in the Vampire Chronicles, Armand, the boyish vampire who loves and influences both Louis and Lestat. In previous books, he has been something of a minor character and this book was to give some insight on who he is and how he came to be. The first part of the book is a wonderful, rich depiction of Venice as it was centuries ago. The images are vivid and authentic from the description of the art of Armand's master, Marius to the grimy, dock-side taverns. But the book falters as it returns to modern time and involves Armand with two humans who help him after his 'death' in Memnoch the Devil. The two humans could have sustained a book of their own but their presence here is unnecessary. Also, there is little mention of Daniel, the human that Armand pursued in Queen of the Damned. In the end, you know a lot about Armand's past but no a lot about what he is doing now and why. Also, as always, there is an added storyline featuring Lestat. Lestat is obviously Mrs. Rice's favorite character and it might be better if she confined her stories to him instead of teasing readers with hints into the lives of other vampires.

Summary: Slow down and think of an interesting STORY!!
Review: What a shame. The first 3 vamp books were among my favorite by any author in any genre. But Anne is slipping badly here. She has replaced storyline with timeline and history, and drama with.....timelines and history. Those of you who are giving this book 4 and 5 stars, I must ask- do you read anything else?!!? I labored through this book and was so relieved to finish and start something fresh, with interesting plot turns, real humor and pathos, etc. Anne, who have got to stop writing this historys. They are BORING!! Take Marius into unchartered territory. Or the TWINS!!Something! Anything! But stop this NOWWWWWW.Really, I love you Anne but you are writing way too much and the books are sorely suffering. Those of you you liked this book, reread Lestat, or Queen of the Damned. Now there's good writing!

Summary: The Vampire Armand: splendid and worthwhile
Review: I have read this book five times and shall read it many more. Like all of Anne's books, it never tires or bores me. It is not a rehash; it is another point of view--Armand's, and as such, worth telling. Those of you who do not like this version of Marius must realize that this is how Armand sees him. Stay with Lestat's view of him if you like. The same is true for the rest of the book. I am thrilled to have a story through Armand's eyes. Anne, let the "zero star" folks' comments take no hold on you. They simply don't get it, yet cannot be blamed for that. This book will be what it is to each of us. To me, it was finding someone I thought I'd lost, in a way I could not possibly have imagined. Thank you.

Summary: A Great Addition to the Vampire Chronicles!!!!!!
Review: I really enjoyed this book! From the moment I started reading it, I found that it was hard to put down. Once I'd put it down for a minute or two, it called to me to read on. I have always enjoyed the character of Armand and this book deepens that enjoyment. It tells you of how Armand was transformed into a vampire and why he did the things that he did to Louis and Lestat. If you enjoy the Vampire Chronicles and reading Anne Rice's novels then you shouldn't miss the chance to read this book. To put it plainly, I don't really know why this book got so many bad reviews. I found that it was a very good book. The only thing that I can think of is that those readers that rated it badly are tired with the series or Anne's writing and should just give up on it. There's no use sniveling about things that you have no control over so just stop reading her works if you think that they are getting worse. I personally do not hold that opinion. I feel that this is a great book and is a worthy addition the rest of the Vampire Chronicles. If you haven't read this novel, go out and get it now!

Review: If you like Ann Rice's other vampire books you won't be disappointed in this one.While it ties in to the others it doesn't just repeat the same old story.Well written and hard to put down.Don't start this if you have to go to work the next day and need your sleep!
