Summary: Finally, a Christian who can write a good sci-fi novel!!
Review: The story starts a little slow for my taste and I was thinking that it might turn out to be a hokey disappointment like so many others. Fortunately, I was wrong and the book got better and better right up to the end! Part X-Files, part end-times thriller and shades of Dean Koontz combine into a great read. Meyers has a vivid imagination and avoids becoming preachy along the way. I ordered "Eli" and look forward to Bill Meyers putting out more great books in the future. You owe it to yourself to CHECK OUT THIS NOVEL!!

Summary: calling all Frank Peretti fans!
Review: The style of this book reminded me very much on Frank Peretti's This Present Darkness. Myers does an excellent job bringing the characters to life, although a little more insight into the events surrounding Brandon's birth would have helped. This book was an incredible and terrifying reminder that spiritual warfare is a very real thing and that a day is coming when the world will experience trials never before imagined.

Summary: This Book Rocks!
Review: This book was a great experience. It was well written and also had a very good meaning too it. I like this book bcuz it was exactly what the world needs to hear. It's not a spiritual speech, it was exciting and interesting. I recommend this book to anyone who thinks that Christianity is boring. Cyan

Summary: So good I could not put it down!!
Review: This book was so captivating that I could not seem to put it away. It caught and held my attention, something most books cannot do! I have told all my friends about it!! Thanks for writing such a good book Bill!

Summary: Changed my life
Review: This book, although good fiction, changed my life. I've felt so often like the lead character Brandon that I felt like it was me going though the search for self. It helped me clarify some personal feelings, and I highly recommend it. I know not everyone will relate on this level, but I did. I only hope Myers keeps writing more stuff like this.

Summary: Fantastic fiction!
Review: This is the second book from Bill Myers that I read and I had as much trouble putting down this book as I did with his first one (Blood of Heaven).

The description and action in this one kept me interested all the way through...the ending of course spells sequel which I found in "Fire of Heaven". What I didn't know was that is would tie two almost unrelated stories together.

Bill Myers, I hope you continue to write more adult fiction. The characters and plots are well put together.

Summary: Disturbing and Powerful!!!
Review: This is the second novel in the "Fire of Heaven" series, and I wasn't disappointed, even though others who have read it through looked for something else along the lines of "Blood of Heaven." This is not "Blood of Heaven," nor should it be, because it tackles some other topics in the classic Myers fashion.

Brandon Martus is the focus of this novel, as well as his friend, Sarah, and the story revolves around trying to get Brandon to explore his PSI potential. Unfortunately, his nemesis (darker forces) don't succeed in getting Brandon on their team. Then there's Gerty, the elderly woman who can see the future, and who is absorbed in the Truth of Scripture and prays and fasts for this young man so he can ultimately recognize the counterfeit from the true.

Again, this is not like the first novel, although it is just as riveting and enjoyable. It raises interesting and provocative ideas and questions the reader's own presuppositions. I highly recommend this book. It's an excellent departure from the other speculative books on the market. And Myers is a superb craftsman in his field.
