Summary: A subject suberbly worthwhile, and well done.
Review: First, note that this is a sequel to their earlier Arthurian saga. For my money, it is the lesser of the two, but none-the-less, a book that is a 'must read,' and hard to put down.

For those with no toleration for sex or any type of violence whatsoever, BE WARNED, there is some of each inherent in this interesting tale. I also abhor senseless violence and sex thrown in only as 'a hook.' The violence in this book is every bit as called for as is the violence in any of the Godfather series. The sex, on the other hand, may not have been totally necessary for the completion of the book. I'll leave this issue to the reader.

I anxiously await the 3rd of the series. The last two reviewers of this wonderful book, unfortunately, appeared displeased with it. As a book of fantasy, it cannot be given criticism that would normally accompany a historical manuscript based on facts alone.

Again, this is a wonderful book, and I thoroughly recommend it!!

Summary: Not as good as the First, but worth a read
Review: I came across this book by accident, and remembering the wonderful story and characters of "The Forever King", I anticipated a wonderful read.

Well, I couldn't put it down, and enjoyed it, but there was something lacking. The character and background of Taliesin (Merlin) was emphasized, as were the Druidic/Ancient Gods, and the story of Arthur, but the modern storyline was, er, not neglected but given less emphasis than deserved, and the characters of the modern storyline were also left rather undeveloped.

The first book left the story of Arthur and his protector's future to the imagination of the reader. I must confess that I didn't imagine all this... It's a good read, but like many sequels, it lacked the soul of the original.

So, I suggest that fans of the original story read it, but diminish your expectations just a bit.

Summary: A WORK OF ART!!! JUST AS GOOD AS THE FIRST
Review: I can't say enought about this book. It was just as good as its counterpart. I hope that there is a third book soon. The details Molly Cochran and Warren Murphy put into this book are so great that you almost can see what is actually happening. I recommend this book to anyone who loves great books no matter what type you enjoy reading. Just read the first few pages and you will be hooked.

Summary: Fast paced but lacking any "new mythology"
Review: I couldn't wait to read this sequel to "The Forever King." It was an excellect re-telling of the traditional Merlin/Arthur story. I wish the book would have centered more around the "new" Arthur and Knights. I'm sure the authors were setting up for another sequel! Hopefully the next novel will have more "modern" villians and settings. Don't get me wrong. Don't miss this sequel. This series is every bit as good as those from Stephen Lawhead and Mary Stewart

Summary: Worth the read
Review: I didn't read The Forever King (yet), but I still really enjoyed this book. I thought it was a stand-alone novel until I started looking for other books by the authors.

The book opens by introducing us to characters that lived during the Middle Ages who have been reborn here in the modern world. Arthur is 13 years old, and he's being protected by Hal (Galahad) and Taliesin. They meet up with another young girl, Beatrice, who was once the Innocent. They're helped out by knights like Launcelot and they're being chased by ancient enemies. The story revolves around the Holy Grail which takes the form of a cup with the power to heal.

I thought this was a very creative take on the old King Arthur legend. The good characters are all very likeable and the bad characters are easy to hate. The fact that it was set in modern times made the characters easy to relate to and gave freshness to the book.

Regardless of the number of pages, this wasn't a very long read. I read it in one sitting on an airplane. But it left a feeling of satisfaction. I would recommend this book to people who enjoy the legend of King Arthur but want to see something different. I would also recommend it to fantasy fans who like it when the real world collides with the fantasy world.

Summary: A fast paced new twist to the Camelot Legend
Review: I have just finished reading The Broken Sword and, although I haven't yet had the pleasure of reading Forever King (Yes, I know I'm not reading them in the right order!), I found this book to be one of the best tellings of the King Arthur legend I have yet read. Until reading this book I took for granted that any Round Table book I was to read would simply be the retelling of the same story, I was never so glad to be proven wrong as I was when I read The Broken Sword. I highly recommend this book to any who have enjoyed the King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table legend at any point throughout their life.

Summary: unnecessary satan stuff....
Review: I have to agree with several of the latest reviews of this book. I read the "Forever King" in a book club earlier this year and enjoyed the creative take on the Author legend, so decided to borrow the sequel for some fun summer reading! I had to finish just for my piece of mind after the disturbing and unnecessary satanic ritual scenes. Too much emphasis on evil, and not enough on the special qualities of Author(?)if any... I have also read many different takes on the Authorian legends like a previous reviewer and my personal favorite is "Mists of Avalon", by Marion Zimmer Bradley. Try that one.
