Summary: Timeless
Review: My phone rang about 10:30 last night; it was a friend of mine thanking me for recommending "The Forever King". He's not a big reader and had already flown through 8 chapters by the time he called. That's what has been happened ever since I first read the book, which I think was around 1994, and began recommending it to people. I worked my way through two paperback copies, passing it to so many that the covers fell off. People started writing their names in the back of one copy...leaving their own mark on the book. I think there were nine signatures. I managed to get my hands on a hardcover, but that one doesn't leave the house. The response, universally, is one of excitement mixed with pure childlike enthusiasm. "I can't believe how good this book is" followed by a sort of giddy laugh. I know it sounds hokey, but its completely true. I've also heard a lot of statements akin to "this is the best book I've ever read." Well, I might not go that far, but it certainly is among the most heartfelt and entertaining fantasies I've ever come across. I can't wait for my nephews to get a little older to introduce a new generation to this wonderful treasure.

Summary: Couldn't put it down!!!
Review: On a recent browse in the bookstore I picked up "The Broken Sword" and notice that the "Forever King" was it's predecessor. Well, am I glad I started with it. It is absolutely one the best books I've read. I can't wait to finish it to get on to the "Broken Sword".

Summary: An awesome book
Review: Once I started reading it I couln't put it down. A new twist to an old loved legend. It was great. I can read it over and over!

Summary: As another reviewer put it, "Entertaining... fluff."
Review: Overall, a fun read--a bit on the predictable side but the characters were engaging. Good airport reading.

Summary: Quite an incredible book
Review: The authors of this book, while telling a wonderful story of the fulfilling of a 1500 year old prophecy, create a character in Saladin who defies comprehension. His musings and reflections on his extraordinary life are as thought provoking as they are gripping. This is truly a wonderful book

Summary: History Repeats Itself
Review: The Forever King can best be summarized as a historical legend incorporated into a modern day plot. The characters constantly waver back and forth from the present to their lives in different times in the past. The narration changes throughout the novel, going from one character to another, so the reader must stay abreast of the situation to keep well informed of where the plot is headed. This novel's many explainations of historical Camelot and the legend surrounding it can be fully appreciated when put into perspective with these charming modern- day characters.

Summary: Awsome!
Review: The Forever King gave a fresh look on the story of King Arthur. It's the first book I've seen that doesn't recount the same story or tell the story from another characters view. The combo of old and new is a perfect mixture. This is a book every King Arthur lover needs to read.

Summary: One of the most original storylines I've read.
Review: The Forever King is extremely well written, and very original. I've not come across anything like it. The characters (particularly Arthur and Merlin/Taliesin) really come alive. However, I must steer readers clear of the sequel (The Broken Sword). This book ends appropriately without needing a follow-up. If you're looking for something different from your normal "murder mystery" or "suspense thriller", then this is for you.

Summary: The return of a timeless hero.
Review: The prophesy of the Once and Future King has been fulfilled....a millenium and a half later. But Arthur is not the only one who has returned- the purest, Galahad, has arrived once again to protect the life of his King. A great book, extremely riveting and sometimes riotously funny. The plot is woven through history and presentday, and both past and present characters can hold your attention like a vise. It will send chills down your spine, and exhilarate to the highest height. Its sequel, The Broken Sword, is a great and hilarious followup. If you know anything of King Arthur, read the book because you will love it.

Summary: A surprisingly wonderful book!
Review: The summer before my senior year of high school, I had to read this book. I was not looking forward to this because I don't really like fantasy books and I don't usually understand them. I waited until two days before school started to read this and it took only one day. This book did not drag, confuse, or talk about things that a normal high school girl wouldn't understand. The modern take of the story of King Arthur kept me enthralled. When I got to school I found out everyone enjoyed it as much as I did!
