Rating: Summary: artificial conan story? Review: i think this is actually the worst conan-story i have read. the plot didn't grab me, seemed to artificial to me. melodramatic. so the rest seemed pretty dull to me too. i never really believed in this story, which was carried out in a dull way too. not much suspence
Rating: Summary: Better than Average Conan Pastiche Review: John Maddox Roberts wrote some of the better Conan stories and Conan the Marauder was one of his best. In the fabled lands far beyond the Vilayet Sea, Conan of Cimmeria faces his most deadly challenge. The warlord Bartatua plans to unite the Hyrkanian tribes and sweep across the world in conquest, while the Turanian wizard Khondemir plots to use Bartatua's ambition to further his sorcerous schemes.
The Story is packecd with action and Conan really is commanding. Maddox invokes some serious Robert Howard flair in this one and it shows in the end product. Very Good!
Rating: Summary: A pleasent suprise! Review: This is one of the best Conan knock-offs. Conan is captured and sold into slavery. He works his way into a postition in the army of a charismatic nomad warrior. Conan begins training a squad into elite soilders. There isn't anything deep or meaningful in this book, and it meanders pretty bad in the middle, but the begnning and the end are exciting. I would recomend this oneyour average Conan fan.

Rating: Summary: Why I Like Conan The Marauder Review: This story is about an epic adventure with Conan, a Cimmerian being captured as a slave and working his way up through the ranks in the army. He fights in many battles and wins most of them. In the end he has to fight a very powerful wizard whose name is Khondemir. I really enjoyed this story because I like a lot of action in stories. I like the author describing how people die. Most of the time it shows what is on their minds.
Rating: Summary: A fine read for Conan fans! Review: Well written and fast paced, this book strongly captures the essence of Howard's original character even as it hints at a new, deeper characterization of the mighty Cimmerian. The plot is strong and engaging and goes down as one of my all time favorite Conan novels. An all around good read.
