Summary: An excellent book
Review: I picked this book up one day when I was really rushed for time, and I read the entire book that day. Lee's characters are well-developed, especially Claidi. Claidi's voice changes as her journey continues, and the descriptions are vivid and full of color. I felt that I was transported to each of the places that Claidi visits. When I realized that this is the first book of more, I eagerly checked to see what the other books were. To my disappointment, they aren't out yet! This will definitely be a book that I read more than once, and I hope that the other books are just as good. Wolf Tower really caught my attention and I am always glad to find a new author to read.

Summary: Fantastic Book
Review: I read some of the reviews written for this book, and I agree with most of them. This book is wonderful, especially for YA readers as it contains adventure, romance, mystery and much more. I've read many books in my life time, and I have to say that the character of Claidi was well-done. Tanith Lee managed to create a unique character that is witty, interesting and humourous. I don't think Claidi is supposed to be a realistic character but an interesting character that would captivate the reader's interest. To me, Claidi's character is refreshingly new, and one of my favorite characters.
I also love the diary style in which Tanith Lee chose to write the book.
Overall, this book definitely merits *****. It is not boring, unfocused or plucky. Though I do like Gail Carson Levine and Tamora Pierce, I still think that the character of Claidi is far more interesting than Ella or Alanna simply because it is new and refreshing to read.
So, if you are interested in reading something totally new and out of this world, read Claidi journals, and enjoy a wonderful world of fantasy and adventure.

Summary: An entertaining read
Review: I really enjoyed 'Wolf Tower,' so much so that I immediately went in search of the two sequels. On its own, this book is good. It's entertaining and fairly easy to read. The only real complaint I had was that some of the language Claidi uses seems a bit too modern (which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5). Claidi is an engaging heroine with a mind of her own, and this narrative of her travels in a strange world is highly enjoyable.

This book can (and should) stand on its own. I was extremely disappointed with the next two books in the series. So I would definitely recommend 'Wolf Tower'... just stay clear of 'Wolf Star' and 'Wolf Queen' if you don't want to be left with a bad taste in your mouth.

Summary: Really Wonderful...enchanting and superb!!
Review: I recently recieved this book for a Christmas present. I figured it would be pretty good, partly because I've read one other book by Tanith Lee, (Voyage of the Basset Chapter book, Islands in the Sky) and because it said that fans for Ella Enchanted would like it.
I have to say that it went above and beyond all of my expectations. Enchnating, fresh and exciting, this book is a refreshing change from all of the other every-day fantasy. It's hardly even fantasy, to me.
I finished it in two days, though I'm surprised it took me even that long. Claidi is so honest in her journal, she is just like a living breathing person rihgt in front of you. Her feelings are expressed clearly and As I read it, I felt that I knew her somehow. Perhaps it's because she reminds me...of ME. :)
I am more than proud to give this book five stars. I especially love the last chapter, "Fireworks". And as someone else said before, you're never really sure if you like Nemian or not. But, find out for yourself what you really think of it.
Read it, you will NOT be dissappointed, if you're anything like me. I sure wasn't!!!
P.S. I also really loved the clock in Peshamba. It was Enchanting!!!

Summary: The best
Review: I started this book skeptically because of what is on the back like when it said, "she could come to love. That is, until they reach his home... and the Wolf Tower." The back didn't appeal to me because I don't really like love stories. I don't really know why but I read it anyway probably because I thought that it would turn out alright. As I started getting further and further I started to love the book, because this book was part adventure story with chasing. The kind of adventure it was was running away from people and the torment of leaving someone you love.

I thought that the plot was great in how Tanith Lee made it seem like Claidi and Nemian were going to get married but they didn't, or did they? I also liked the way Tanith Lee would suspend you just enough to keep you reading until you finished the book.

I thought that Claidi was important because she was the one that Jizania Tiger chose to go to Wolf Tower and she had that idea that everyone in the world was nice, but she got a big surprise when a tribe sold her.

I thought that Nemian was important because he had to come and remind Jizania Tiger that she owed a princess and he had to act like he didn't need Claidi to get her to keep her going.

I thought that Jizania Tiger was the person in the book that started things going. Like when she chose Claidi to go with Nemian. I also think that Nemian was the person in the book that wasn't trying keep things going but in fact I thought that he was trying to keep things from moving.

The reason that I rated this book 5 stars was because it fulfilled my thirst for knowledge in this case it was what Claidi will do next. I can't wait tell I read Wolf Star! And find out what Claidi does do next, and the new people that she meets.

I would recommend this book to anyone that likes love, fortune and clothes. Or if you like to read about times that never happened.

Summary: Epic Adventures of a First-Class Priss
Review: It appears that I'll be going against the grain with the rest of the glowing reviews others have written here about "Wolf Tower." Lee's choice to put Claidi's adventures into an informal journal format made for very light fare. However, I think the tale suffers, and incorporating a lot of current slang makes Claidi sound too modern.

And frankly, the more I read her story, the more I disliked Claidi. The constant negativity, self-pity, and mooning over Neiman in her journal was tiring. Most of the the cultures, people, and customs she encounters on her flight from the House are "yukky" or "boring" or "it stinks." Perhaps a little xenophobia can be expected on her part, as she's never seen beyond the walls of the House before. But more than anything, it just sounds like she is no better than the tempermental princess she abhors and used to serve. I wonder if the author truly intended for her heroine to come off as so disagreeable.

Finally, among the Hulta people, Claidi's sense of wonder surfaces. She describes the sights and sounds of the city with charm and delight. Neiman has disappeared with another girl of the Family, and Claidi seems the better off for it. Somehow she attracts the attentions of the most charismatic man of the Hulta Family. Argul offers her the change to remain, rather than continue with Neiman on his journey.

Why Claidi forsakes the only happiness she has ever known to follow Neiman once again, escapes me. He's proved to be a fickle, vile person several times over by now, and you'd think the heroine would have more sense. There's some business in her journal about how she calls upon some shallow sense of honor and keeping her word, etc. etc. So it's more adventures and new places for Claidi as she leaves the Family, all which she describes with a sardonic air in her journal.

Neiman's inevitable betrayal at Wolf Tower somehow still comes as a shock to Claidi. Now it seems she will forever be trapped and have to serve "The Law" of the city, a cruel way that those who hold power instill fear and obedience in the citizens. Claidi does triumph and redeem herself somewhat at the end through her actions, but I still believed she was undeserving of the good turn of fortune.

I finished the book out of mild curiosity, was glad to be done with it, and forgot the book's events and characters within a couple days. I haven't read other Tanith Lee works, but I imagine they are much better than this effort.

Summary: Good Book
Review: My mother bought me this book as a present. It kind of sounded like a love story, so I didn't start reading it for a while. Then I really liked it.
Lady Jade Leaf was absolutely a nasty person. I liked the way Lee made her seem like some sort of monster. I also liked the way Nemian would do something downright terrible and then would try to get Claidi's trust back. It kept the book interesting.
