Review: I loved the book. I would tell any big fantsy lover to get it!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: deserves more than 5 stars!
Review: contrary to what some say, this book is absolutely fabulous. Mike Stackpole is a practical genious when it comes to Sci Fi/Fantasy. What I am getting to is don't listen to anyone who says this book is bad, haphazard, strange, confusing, or whatever. Bottom line, they are WRONG.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Good, but not great
Review: As a whole this is a decent book, but I would have to say it has its share of flaws. It is gramatically awkward, and more than a little bland. The characters are shallow, and the world feels haphazard. It does have some interesting concepts, but I can really tell this is Stackpole's first work.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Impressive, MOST Impressive
Review: I originally grabbed this book because I enjoyed Mike's X-Wing books. However, the moment I began reading I liked it more than Star Wars. The story is similar to Star Wars and caused me to neglect homework to read on and on into the night.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I've read this book 6 times this year!
Review: And I never get tired of it. This is definitely one of Michael Stackpole's best works. I'm not usually fond of books that keep jumping back and forth like this one does, but here it seemed very appropriate. I hope he writes a sequel soon.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Stackpole is a master of fantasy
Review: I grant that this book is different than many other fantasies, but that is all the more reason to appreciate it rather than trash on it. Stackpole has impressed me on more than one occassion. I loved Talion: Revenant. There was something so gripping about the plot and characters. I recommend this book to anyone who considers reading it. And if you don't like it, that's your opinion. But try it first.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Great setting and interesting characters
Review: I'm penalizing this book by a star because Stackpole has not yet published a sequel! I've been a fan of Stackpole since his BattleTech books (Still the only game-related books I've ever reread). I bought Talion on a whim, and I loved it. Sure, the plotting is a bit cliched, but the writing was solid, and the world was facinating. I loved the training sections, and thought the relationships between the trio were very well done.

This is a rich fantasy setting and needs more books.

Summary: One of the Best Books I Ever Read!!!
Review: I orginally picked up the book because I was familiar with Mr. Stackpole's X-Wing books. I was hooked from the first page. The most suprising part is that this book is acutally his the first book he ever wrote. Simply stunning. I hope he writes a sequel.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: GREAT!!! WONDERFUL!!!
Review: This book is too good to explain! READ IT!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Good pick for a young reader of fantasy
Review: Very simplistic themes and writing style. I gave it to my 12 yr. old cousin b/c I thought it would be appropriate for someone who didn't yet have very discerning taste in fantasy. Ironically, he asked me to explain the very passages that I myself found poorly thought out. The training segments were the most entertaining for me, but any of the more advanced concepts were perhaps intentionally left very vague. Concepts such as the nature of the soul on this world and where the skull came from that decided what was just and unjust were just glossed over. Again, this didn't ruin the book, just made it very simplistic. Before I buy another of his books, I will read it in the store to assure myself that he matured in his later works.
