Summary: Best. Novelization. Ever.
Review: It's really just that simple. All of the Robotech books by "Jack McKinney" are fantastically written, and these are the books that started it all. Never has a novelization taken us so deeply into the psyche of the characters, and so meticulously behind the scenes to the inner workings of politics and battle tactics. It doesn't get any better than this. If you've seen the show, but never read the books, buy this. If you've never seen the show, but have always been curious about it, buy this. If you've never seen the show and don't ever plan to, but are just interested in a good science fiction story, buy this. You won't be disappointed.

Summary: Robotech : Genesis/Battle Cry/Homecoming
Review: Join Rick Hunter and the rest of mankind as they try to save Earth. The war seems to be coming to a close, but Earth itself is still a battlefield, as both humans and aliens try to find their place within a world almost destroyed by years of conflict. Will Rick tell Lisa he loves her? Will there ever be peace? Will the Robotech Masters come to Earth themselves? READ IT!

Summary: Great book!
Review: Kudos to the above review, but don't forget the character Lisa Hayes! She was one of the main reasons I bought this book, and I don't feel she gets enough credit.

On another note, this book is probably the best book that I have ever read. It is a great tale of adventure, action, and human emotion. Anyone who likes the series will love this book, as it expolores the characters in much greater detail. Even if you have never heard of Robotech I reccomend it, and even if you havn't ever picked up a science fiction book.

Summary: Good background
Review: Pretty much word for word what was shown in the TV series, with just a little more background description and events to answer some old questions. Worth getting.

Summary: Detail makes this a winner
Review: Robotech is the condensed/Americanized form of three Japanese Anime: 1st Macross, 2nd Southern Cross, 3rd Mospeada. While the TV series is good, it leaves the viewer a bit confused. Protoculture is confusingly explained at best, and the combat and relationships are not well fleshed out in the TV series (compared to the novels). In these novels, much of the confusing topics in the TV series become clearer, because Mckinney has paid attention to detail. And good detail it is. The characters are memorable because they are seen in a more personal perspective (however, Minnmei isn't the stupid ditz that she is in the TV series). Plus the reader has a window into the Character's minds. The story is also very well plotted and strongly written. It also ties the other series into this one better than the TV series does. While this is not Hyperion or Ender's Game, it is a fun and enjoyable read. If you are a Robotech/Macross fan, this is a must. If you want to read a good SF Space Opera, check this out. You won't be dissappointed.

Summary: Robotech 4,5,6 keeps on going
Review: Robotech:4,5,& 6 tell of the continuing story between the RDF (Robotech Defence Force) and the evil Zedtraedi Armada. The love triangle between Rick, Lisa, and Lynn-Minmei also gets larger in this trilogy. The Zedtraedi Rebellion continues, with Konda, Rico, and Bron spearheading the movement.

Summary: I recommend this suspenseful book of human kind.
Review: The book Robotech is about an abandoned alien ship that crash landed on earth in the year 2000. About 10 years later, humans on earth found the alien ship and repaired the intact ship. This was the ship to save Human kind from being extinct from the thousands of aliens from outer space. There are several books that include in the series and I recommend to read all the books because it is suspenseful, and also include action and a love triangle to it. The book creates a vivd imagination once you pick up and read. This book can make you sad, happy, laugh, and excited. I would defi ately tell people to read this who love anime, action, suspense, and a love stories.

Summary: awesome
Review: These books are a rage. This portion sees one of the largest and most glorious battles I have ever read in a sci-fi novel, which pitches Zentraedi warriors against Invid Shocktroopers. You just can't beat Robotech for an endorphin-level-raising bodycount.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I'd rate it six stars but the option limits me to five only
Review: These books are of the best I have ever read. Never have I loved a set of books as much as the Robotech series of novels. If anybody has ever seen the show, played the role playing game or is into post-apocalyptic rebirth of humanity and society, then these books are a must.

A good understanding of the military structure and operations is an accessory that one should have in order to fully comprehend the nature of many desicions made and some of the context behind the lines.

This set of books I will keep with me until the ends of time and cherish as they have helped not only to give me a better undestanding of the nature of storytelling, but of the military, humanity, and of politics
